“Ebay to my rescue!”

Ebay sorted my problem in full and deserve 5 stars as they are fair in the end. Thank Mr Ebay. Please do stop such practices adopted by sellers as that will increase public confidence.

“Ebay did not honor guarantee”

A seller reported a package delivered to my address. We do not have USPS delivery here everything is left at our local office or PO Box when possible. I continued to check the post office for over a week with the postmaster. The package never arrived. I contacted the seller who said it was signed for, but it was never signed for because I am the only one who signs for anything or checks the mail. Ebay closed the case telling me no refund would be sent. There is no way this package was ever delivered, and absolutely no way I signed for it. Ebay is supposed to provide Buyer protection. They do not! I will never use Ebay again.

I have had nothing but bad experience with the ebay company. The sellers are great and if they make a mistake they fix it. The company on the other hand sends out vague emails about violations. That you cant respond back to or defend your self. You dont even know what you did wrong. They have horrible customer service.

This is a ZERO star review by the way.

After being on eBay for 21 years it's time for me to pull the plug. This company is absolutely awful what with its greedy fees, absolute pathetic and horrible customer service and most importantly now they even want your social security number to sell an item.

That was a final straw for me. You are not my boss, I do not work for you and you are not my bank so what gives you the right to want my social security number?

I will not give eBay any more of my time or business. Even after I pulled all of my auctions off of eBay, even as a buyer they blocked me from even sending a message to somebody who I bought from recently and I had to spend an hour on the phone to try and sort that out to which I was told this might be resolved in 48 hours.

It's sad to see a company go from being brilliant to just having no ethics and being completely greedy.

Verified purchase

Since eBay has become too big and the administrators don't have idea or solution of how to control each transactions, eBay has turned into a very good ground for thieves and scammers. You could easily make thousands of dollars at eBay and cheat people out of their money and run away with people's money. That proves that eBay is no longer a save place to do any transactions. This seller 666hope(*******) is an obvious example of a fraudulent and criminal entity. Below is a copy of tracking number that they created and showed as a proof.

They're customer service is a joke! Not helpful at all, rude, and reads off a script. Locked my account because I had something posted in "the wrong category". When I called they offered no help. Would it not be better to tell a user what they are doing wrong so they can fix it instead of penalizing them and not not offering to help or show one ounce or human compassion? Beware of "Mike", the "supervisor". So rude, he actually swore at me!

They don't care a out the customer when they screw up. Ive been an Ebay customer for years and have never had a reason to use their customer service. They billed my account incorrectly. After several hours of me calling them, escalating it to "supervisors", some of whom hung up on me, I finally got them to issue a credit. They never want to admit that they screwed up. They hear what they want and use poor excuses to justify that they don't care about providing service to the customer. I specifically asked Mark who is a "Manager" how I can file a formal complaint. He said that there isn't a way... then hung up. Another "supervisor" named Michelle also hung up on me after she refused my request to speak with her boss. This was all regarding an Ebay problem, not between buyer / seller.

Hugo, you were not "tricked". You obviously did not do your homework by investigating the site before blindly plunging in. EBay exists to make money. Period. It is not a cooperative or a charity. Anyone new to eBay must read the "terms of service", where all of the specifics are clearly stated. Perhaps your listing fee was zero (though this is hard to believe), but ebay justifiably takes a "final value fee" that is a percentage of the sale price, as does PayPal.

Ebay is now officially a scam. Customer service is non existent and nearly impossible to find. This company will make it so time consuming and miserable with dead ends and endless searches to speak with an agent that they hope you'll give up and call it a write off. My son ordered a $180 tool. The wrong tool. I caught it and 10 minutes after he put the order in I requested a refund. The seller denied the refund and then didn't ship the tool. After 3 hrs of multiple attempts at contacting eBay I never did actually speak with an agent and have yet to hear back from them. I was shocked at how extremely shady this went down. I was completely taken advantage of and it will be an absolute last resort for me if ever to return as a buyer. I recommend against making purchases from ebay.

I contacted a seller with a question more than a week ago, TWICE and they never responded. I thought perhaps for some reason they may not be getting my question so I contacted eBay with the concern and they said they would not send them an email notifying them of this. I realize an emergency might have kept them away but still, a notification of some type must be possible and if not eBay should make one easily incorporated as an auto response to question in such a case. So what if half the sellers on eBay decided to put their items on there then just sit back and ignore potential buyers, is that good business practice? Rather a turn off to me and I went elsewhere

If you have an issue as a seller with eBay. Firstly they don't care because they only care about buyers for some reason dispute the rip off fees they charge. Secondly the customer service is terrible they have no experience of how eBay actually works. Don't bother calling them it would be a waste of your time, they resolve NOTHING. And Thirdly they know their time as top dog is fading fast, lots of alternatives to use now.

I have made a few substantial sales through eBay but they are not seller friendly. I've had situations where someone puts in a bid but never end up paying for it and eBay still charges me selling fees upfront until it gets resolved by opening up a case. And the annoying part is if you want to request a refund on your credit balance, you have to call the customer service number where you wait for ages for someone to pick up. I don't know why they make the selling process so difficult and convoluted. It's like they have something against sellers. I know a lot of fraud happens on eBay but buyers are just as likely to be fraudulent as sellers.

I will admit if you are a buyer there is no cheaper site. My issue stems from the selling aspect of the site. Through selling 1 item I earned "Payments (last 31 days)
Received $11.99", Yet I owed "Amount due as of Sep-10-10: US $8.05" and guess what... after that payment I still owed more!

EBay used to protect sellers and buyers but now only protect themselves and the money they can make. I have had multiple issues with faulty buyers recently and eBay not helping at all. They most recent case where they allowed a return for an item the buyer said they just did not want anymore then made me not only eat the original ship cost but pay return shipping as well and did not reimburse fees made me leave the site all together. I recommend selling elsewhere as their are many places that actually care about their clients.

Tip for consumers:
Do not use this site, eBay will not protect you if things go wrong.

I cannot imagine my life without Ebay! I can find there accessories and other stuff which I will never find in usual shop or it will take ages to find them. A couple of times I had some problems with the deliveries. Once I purchased a wooden bath brush and I received it broken in two parts and next time my parcel was lost… I don’t know whose fault was this but in both cases my claims were accepted and solved. I didn’t experience any problems with PayPal transactions so far.

I was a seller & buyer on eBay for years until one day a seller had produced an image of a product that I needed, but the description was wrong, so I never proceeded with the sale. Like any shop cart right? If you don't process payment, you don't get charged. Not on ebay! They try to force you to purchase the product, meanwhile charging your card every month a small amount, for Lord only knows why. So you can have the account for years, not sell or buy anything, and they charge you. They also refuse to credit your account when you have proof of trying to cancel the account months ago... I would highly discourage ANYONE from this place. They use people that barely speak English, and essentially have made up their own rules that are not in the best interest of buyers. Run away from setting up an account. There are other places to get good deals on the net that don't pull unethical moves on you, trust me.

I would never recommend selling through EBay, here is why. I'm a first time seller on EBay figure I could make some profit for the first time selling in action, thinking wow made some profit nice they took a huge fee. I figured this sucks but no big deal. But no it is they have my money on hold for well over a week. I did prove my item was shipped and delivered, but I still have not got paid. I had to take my own money out of pocket to ship. Get your act together EBay and pay me! I will never use EBay again.

PayPal stepped up to advertise with the Big Boys - spending hundreds of thousands of dollars advertising on Super Bowl Sunday. I'd much sooner they spend the money on making my PayPal charges less, but I joke... ha ha... I do feel that if they can advertise at the S Bowl then MAYBE they need completion... oh yeah, I forgot, they're the only game in town for eBay purchases and sales. EBay is wildly successful and I use them, myself, but I wonder where the ceiling is on their unrestrained rates... with no completion there's no incentive for them to change. Possibly 15% will satisfy them - it could happen. I don't have a solution, I just thought I'd share, some more. Cheers friends

Walt

Tip for consumers:
Buying might be a deal now, but selling is nearly prohibitive - what do you think buying will become? There are many other sites to sell on, if you look, that do not take total advantage of you.

I ordered 2 micro sim cards - 32 GB. It's 10 days now but still not delivered. They are mediators between buyers and sellers and dont have their own ware houses. Most of sellers are fraud. Please don't buy anything from this site
Soon they will be out of market because of lack of customer service.

After creating an eBay account and listing products for sell, I received a notification that my account was permanently suspended without any clarification or reasoning. When I attempted to contact customer service for a resolution, they were repeatedly rude and refused to provide any information or assistance. The agent kept calling me by someone else's name and was either too lazy or unwilling to do provide any level of support. While I was more than respectful, the agent proceeded to disconnect the conversation on two separate occasions. It is clear that eBay is too big to care about customer service anymore.

I'll make the short. Order an item on eBay and got ripped off, wound up it was a fake dealer. Never did get my money back. Talk to a representative and he was more concerned about how much money I had in my checking and savings account, which had nothing to do with anything.
BEWARE! I do not deal with eBay anymore only Amazon. So far no problems with them.

This is another great and best website I have experience to buy some stuff. Especially they offer customs duty payment in advance if you buy things from abroad and I love it as in the country I live the customs might take ages to release your merchandise but never had problem with eBay so far

I been with Ebay for 3 years now as a buyer. My advice as a buyer, and as a seller too, would be to do your homework on the person you want to bid or buy from, sell to. By what I mean by homework is, look at percentage number next to there name, this tells you out of 100 percent what they measure up to. Look at what other customers say about them. I have followed this rule, and only only 2 bad experiences in which Ebay compensated me. My personal rule, I do not deal with anyone with a lower than 99 percent!

EBay is a scam and a joke, doesn't surprise me they have lost a couple billion and are going to eventually crash, and every year gets worse and worse in losses. I was a loyal customer over 20 years no negative feedback, always 100% positive and permanently suspended my account when someone hacked my account and I reported it and they permanently suspended me when I was the victim who had to fight all the charges and horrible customer service from eBay. They never gave me a reason just got rid of me. And not one negative thing on my record ever with over 500 positive transactions. Don't waste your time with eBay!

I love eBay. I shop there at least once a month, if not more often. The problem is the scammers. You have to keep up with not only the item you're buying, but need to research the seller too. If you do that, you can find some real gems with minimal problems. I've had far more good than bad experiences, so I consider it an overall plus.

Tip for consumers:
Check reviews and find out which sellers are scammers. Most are good people though, especially the ones that have been there for years and have built a business on there.

I often end up buying antiques there, like a worldwide garage sale almost.

I have not had a bad purchase yet. My boyfriend has been a member for a long time and after we got married he showed me Ebay and how it works. Now I shop till my butt hurts, I don't have to drop! Lol. Great deals and Paypal guarantees satisfaction. I only had one issue that the item did not come by due date and the seller sent extra items to make up the lateness.

I ve been member of ebay since 2006 but now I really hope ebay will go out of business very soon>
Put my Tiffany's watch on eBay and someone has bought it. Shortly thereafter buyer messaged and asked me to cancel his purchase which and I did > however ebay paid me 785$ ( watch was sold for 1020$) 235$ commission! I called them and told them that sale didn't go through so they can charge me back and they did charge me back 1000$...opened dispute - no results still. My advice don't use ebay
