“Ebay to my rescue!”

Ebay sorted my problem in full and deserve 5 stars as they are fair in the end. Thank Mr Ebay. Please do stop such practices adopted by sellers as that will increase public confidence.

“Ebay did not honor guarantee”

A seller reported a package delivered to my address. We do not have USPS delivery here everything is left at our local office or PO Box when possible. I continued to check the post office for over a week with the postmaster. The package never arrived. I contacted the seller who said it was signed for, but it was never signed for because I am the only one who signs for anything or checks the mail. Ebay closed the case telling me no refund would be sent. There is no way this package was ever delivered, and absolutely no way I signed for it. Ebay is supposed to provide Buyer protection. They do not! I will never use Ebay again.

Such a shame what has happened to eBay over the years. Used to be a decent place to browse for collectibles, but no more. Nothing but hassle after hassle trying to use the website. Go to Craigslist or Facebook marketplace instead. EBay is no longer needed.

Got my necklace chains on time. Actually, I got them two days early. I've NEVER been so happy! I don't know or understand why people are saying the positive reviews are fake and why people hate EBay so much. I took out the 18 in chain and so far I'm making good use out of it. And a helpful tip, if you are looking for something on EBay. Look on the images about the product to see if there's more proof if the product decribed as it says it is, otherwise, it could or might be a scam. That's first thing I did when looking for the necklace chains. And I got the correct one too. :)

Tip for consumers:
ALWAYS look for more images of the product before buying anything, so, there is proof the product as described as it says it is. Otherwise, you could or might possibly get scammed.

First of all, I have never been ripped off by a seller on ebay in the 10 years that I have been using it. My issue is with the ghost bidders, you know, those names that have a letter, ****, then letter. I avoid those sellers every time and look for honest to goodness humans auctioning/selling a product with real people bidding/buying.

The company customer service is about a awful as any service can be. Hard to access and totally ineffective.
I have been trying for months to be exempt from sales tax on my plant purchases as I am a reseller. Not one single response have I ever received from contacting them. The service team should be fired along with the executive director for allowing such.

Ebay has come a long way. From great bargains to great scams. This is not for buyers who does not research a product's authenticity before buying. I still recommend this site because a lot of stuff here are very cheap.

EBay offer next to no support for its sellers. Seller fees are extremely high with eBay able to increase them per account for no reason at their discretion. Fees are on top of postage as well as taking a percentage of postage costs. Customer support can often turn out to be a pit of frustration. Treats sellers as disposable. Selling on eBay can often be very stressful and anxiety inducing.

Tip for consumers:
As a seller, don’t. As a buyer, just be cautious.

After 18 years selling/buying on Ebay with 100% feedback, Ebay sited with a scammer and I'm out $355 and did not get the item back. On top of everything Ebay kept their commission and withdrew my account the full amount of the item not the amount they paid me. Customer support were very cordial and pleasant but deceiving. I did not get a final answer until after calling 4 times and they had the time to withdraw my account without addressing my claim of being victim of a scam. There are other online sale platforms. Stay away from Ebay.

I bought a lap top and it never arrived. I contacted the seller but got no response. He took my $499 and disappeared. I called eBay's customer service number, but it kept disconnecting me. I am now disputing the charges through my credit card company which gives the seller a whole month to respond. I will NEVER use Ebay again. There are too many crooks and scammers on it.

I sold a phone on eBay it was my first time and I got scammed, I sent the phone working with no problems and now the buyer says the phone has problems and I have no money from my sale! This is not acceptable, I paid twice for delivery, I was a good seller, I answered everything the buyer asked me and now he wants to return it when the phone never had any problems! I want my money now!

As a Seller you have no rights and that expose you to the moral and financial damages. They do not care if you have been victim of SCAM buyers. They admitted to that they always will resolve any issues for buyer's favour no matter what. You can lost your goods or your money or both! Consider twice selling something expensive on eBay because I would never do that again.

I still enjoy buying the odd bargain on ebay, but the days of the casual seller are long gone. Unless you operate as a large business seller, then ebay will come down on you like a ton of bricks. The customer service feels like it's practically run by computer programs. Trying to speak to a human, never mind the same human twice is virtually impossible by phone or email.

I received a broken item with the wrong parts.
I requested refund. EBay told me I have to give the seller multiple chances to cooperate.
I was told to wait over a week so that the poor little seller who tried to rip me off could have a chance to do the right thing. Amazon, on the other hand, always provides a refund immediately upon request. They don't make you go to all the trouble of remembering to keep calling back. This is why bad sellers are able to keep stealing from customers because eBay basically allows it. Amazon would never think of punishing the customer instead of the bad seller

I'm a college student and the first time I bought a used textbook from half.com it was not similar to how it was described so I had to return it, but half.com doesn't really have a customer service so after contacting ebay's customer service I finally realized it's better if I contact the seller. Long story short I ended up paying for the return shipping because the used book was not AT ALL how the seller described it and it's been more than a year that I'm still contacting half.com for this and they don't even respond.
So as a broke college student I just want to give you an advice, just buy it from amazon.com because their customer service is worth it

I was selling an old book for 1$ and due to all their fees I ended up owing $0.03 by the end. They really just want everyone to lose money on their site. Sold for 1$ shipping was 3.49, fee was 1.03. Hence I got 3.46 for sale but had to pay 3.49. They literally don't want us to make money.

Tip for consumers:
dont sell on ebay if you can avoid it.

I advise you not to make a Ebay account, terrible customer support! They banned my account out of nothing, after asking for a long time I found out it was because I made a payment when I was on my education. I tried to recover my account but Ebay was just incredible rude and just ended conversation on their own. I also had some package that didn't arrived yet, since my account is banned I cant fix this issue. They don't respond to my email anymore either. I also alarmed the dutch authority on privacy and the police, I advise everyone to do the same who got issues with Ebay.

Tip for consumers:
Alarm the police and authorities. The more there is in the database the better, since eventually Ebay will have no choice to listen then.

EBay specialist told me there is nothing that protects the seller. Now the buyer has my $165 and my jacket. Stay away the allure of perfect transactions is a huge lie. No safe place here. Sell your stuff at a garage sale this place is for "suckers".

Tried it for the first time. Never again. Sticking with Amazon. Bought an item only to find out that the item was conveniently from a compromised account. Now i have to go through the dumb process of trying to get the money back. Crap site. Crap business.

Beware of this company that sells on Ebay, they don't tell you that they make these mats to order which takes time. When they say the shipped it and in fact they then say the have not and you end up going back and forth with emails to the point you just don't want to do business with them and they refuse to return funds even though item was never received.

Bad People stay away from seller id: we-are-maryland-auto-mats

Ebay is a con. My invoices were ridiculous for what the price I sold things. Most of it was postage. Stop selling on ebay people. Support the new sites with zero selling fees and let's get rid of the rip off that us ebay. Don't trust this max selling fee of £1. This is not the case. I have disputed but not heard back.

Don't use Ebay!

I agree with Laura, eBay is great for buying collectibles but as a seller I was burned by a buyer. I have 100% positive with 4,000 transactions over 20 years but eBay let a buyer scam me and return a damaged item. EBay charged my credit card which I disputed and won. They have now sent a collections agency after me. That's no way to treat a long time top member.

I have sold on EBAY since 2009 and they have changed so much about the selling and buying process. There is no longer any protection for buyer/sellers any longer it is simply a way for eBay to capitalize on selling fees etc. You can no longer list items and sell them with ease. I would suggest craigslist to anyone who would except this sort of buy/selling experience. Brace yourself for disaster.

I understand that eBay holds money to new sellers. However, if you request a shipping cost you should be able to have that money released in order to print a shipping label. They have change that policy and you can no longer do that anymore. EBay policies suck. How is someone supposed to send out an item that they sell if they cannot get the shipping cost that was requested and paid for? It's no wonder why everyone is turning to Amazon because eBay's policies are absolutely horrible.

Ebay commits fraud! Twice they have changed the Guaranteed Delivery date after the item was delivered late so they could cheat their customers of the $5 late penalty. I called customer no service and they refused to do anything about it other then submit a complaint! They admitted they could see that the computer changed the date! They even tried to LIE and say it was an estimated date. Estmated are what normal delivery is this was GUARANTEED. What a joke! Another corporation screwing its customers, because they think they are big enough that they can get away with it, so Im letting people know what crooks they are! Item #*******229 is the latest Fraud.

Ebay refunded buyer for item I had already shipped less than 7 days later. I had sent USPS as stated in listing, which was going to take 4-7 days. I misplaced tracking number, and by the time I found it ebay had already issued a refund. The tracking number confirmed the buyer had received the item, but since ebay had already refunded it they advised me it could not be refunded (out of $100 plus) I won't go into details on other selling issues, but I came away thinking ebay was too risky of a place to sell items, especially higher-value ones. Ebay is, however, a good place to buy since they tend to focus more on taking care of buyers, sometimes at the expense of sellers. I got frustrated and closed the account I had for 15 years (100% positive feedback). In retrospect, I should have kept open for buying, but I would never have risked selling an item on ebay again.
