“Ebay to my rescue!”

Ebay sorted my problem in full and deserve 5 stars as they are fair in the end. Thank Mr Ebay. Please do stop such practices adopted by sellers as that will increase public confidence.

“Ebay did not honor guarantee”

A seller reported a package delivered to my address. We do not have USPS delivery here everything is left at our local office or PO Box when possible. I continued to check the post office for over a week with the postmaster. The package never arrived. I contacted the seller who said it was signed for, but it was never signed for because I am the only one who signs for anything or checks the mail. Ebay closed the case telling me no refund would be sent. There is no way this package was ever delivered, and absolutely no way I signed for it. Ebay is supposed to provide Buyer protection. They do not! I will never use Ebay again.

Verified purchase

I purchased a pack of Genuine Philips Sonicare C3 Premium Plaque Toothbrush Heads. What I got was an opened package with four fake heads. I did a search and found at least (5) FIVE negative reviews stating that the heads are FAKE. Whether or not those reviewers submitted complaints or not isn't the issue. EBay has a duty to ensure, of all things, FAKES are not allowed, not tolerated. This is gross negligence. Isn't that what buyers rely on you to do at a minimum: spot FAKES and eliminate crooked sellers. If this was not investigated in the first instance, eBay is complicit in the sale of FAKE items. I want a refund and a FREE package of what I ordered, the genuine product in an unopened package.

SUCKS...what kind of sight let's people arbitrary out other people's items on hold...basically I've been trying to sell one item for 5 months now. Buyers keep BUYING and not paying and then it takes weeks to put your item back up! Its so freaking annoying and a stupid policy. I can't think of anywhere else where you're allowed to CASH OUT without paying!

EBAY should change its name to LAYWAY

Dumbest site I've ever seen

I won an item on ebay and the seller refused to send the item because she feels she did not get the price she wanted. Seller did not refund me and relisted the item. I called ebay, supervisor kristina, on the current relisted item that I already paid for, but ebay would not cancel the relisted active item even after the seller told ebay via email that she will not send because she feels the item was worth more. Ebay said i have to contact paypal to get a refund myself... NICE

Ebay sucks and worthless

Tip for consumers:
Dont expect much if seller refuse to send the item and dont expect ebay to help you

Look out people sell on Etsy and Amazon. Buyer gave fake labels in pictures to EBay, and eBay sent them a return label but Buyer wouldn't return it, and then EBay helped a thief get my free Moncler worth over $1200! I had to also pay for shipping! Then eBay communicated appeal was not available for me!

Not only did they flat out lie about the condition of clothing I sent them - with the tags attached - but when I agreed to sell the items they want I told them to return the other items. AFTER they processed the items I did want to sell, they told me that they do not return the other items. They basically stole hundreds of dollars worth of clothing - this was BCBG, Talbots, Gap, Tahari and Banana Republic. They won't return my items. I told them to cancel the whole thing and return everything but wouldn't you know, they "recycle all declined items through a local vendor" - this is a lie. They keep the items and sell them. They have stolen my items. Anyone else who has had this experience needs to file a complaint with the better business bureau as this practice is not stated on their website. I'm also considering filing a class action lawsuit.

Got scammed for a $119 dollar bissell pet all in one floor vaccum and steamer. Did all the footwork to try and find out what happened to it just to find out from UPS that the seller had it sent to a totally different address, and that a Thomas signed for it,...(not my name). Went to that address and it was a business with a "Thomas" in package receiving, but he doesn't remember if he signed for it or not. Not to mention that I have a ring doorbell as proof that I didn't receive it. Tried to get Ebay to step in and help, and they wouldn't do anything about it. I'm done with ebay! Too many scams these days! And, Ebay is letting scammers use their site. I'll cut my loses and use the mall!

Tip for consumers:
Be careful who you order from through Ebay.

I love to shop. I use to waste gas going from store to store and half of time wasn't finding what I be looking for. So I start shopping at eBay. EBay is a great place to shop for all your needs. EBay be sure that sellers stands by what they sell, and if you don't like what you get eBay be sure you get a refund. I never had any problems with eBay and the products or items I have order from them. I have been very please with everything so far I have order off of eBay.

Purchased a tuneup kit for lawn more, the oil filter was the incorrect filter for my zero turn. Had to go buy correct filter from dealer, could not return kit as I used other parts. I ask for a $7.74 filter that neither the seller nor Ebay would cover. Used Ebay for years, never again, guess I wasn't worth $7.74.

This is my 3rd month selling, so I'm still a newbie.

It's very user friendly and easy to set up and ship.

I've had 2 situations that eBay decided in my favor:

The buyer claimed they never received an item. EBay asked for my tracking number, which I provided, and within 2 days they decided in my favor. They do not allow the buyer to leave negative feedback in a situation like this.

I sold an item and wasn't paid by the buyer. I did attempt to correspond several times with no answer. Again, EBay doesn't allow them to leave negative feedback even if the seller decided to.

Tip for consumers:
They make shipping very easy. Postage, including printing labels is all included in the eBay process.
USPS.com offers free shipping supplies.

My authentiv louis vuitton item i wanted to sell was tagged by ebat as fake! I tried to argue with them and they said their experts said it was fake! Meanwhile i bout it at a lv store in an upscale mall! What recourse do i have? I have to say my buying experience has been satisfactory with most sellers. Beware of lv from asia, much of it has been in the tsunami and fukishima! Its literally dangerous!

I'll admit it - I use Ebay to buy strawberry shortcake figurines, my collector's item of choice. It's my little secret that's not so much a secret anymore. Anyway, I can't find a better place, other than a little store I used to frequent in Austin called Kids & Cats, than Ebay to get these items. And I think because not a lot of people are into Strawberry Shortcake, I get the good deals.

Ebay is charging a percentage on the tax that the seller pays as part of their fee. This is ilegal and the government should look into this. If you complaint they refunded it to you, but if you don't check their robing you blind. Their % should be on what you sold the item not on the price plus tax. I'm amaze the government hasn't shut them down.

... until an algorithm complained that I wan returning too many items. A gratuitous condemnation without consulting photos or reasons that made me angry enough to delate eBay from my favorites, At least 80% of what I ordered from eBay deserved to be returned because of the difference between what I received and what was advertised. I kept them because the price was right and I returned those that I felt I've been had.

Previously, I couldn't understand why eBay sellers had such high ratings, usually 97% and above, while on Amazon, for example, many sellers had ratings of 70-80%. The difference between these two sites is that the former primarily sells used items, and the latter typically sells new products. It would seem that everything should be the other way around. However, today, when I became a victim of fraud, everything fell into place. It turns out that eBay encourages active sellers by removing negative red marks, and they practice this regularly. As a result, sellers don't hesitate to sell non-working electronics as if they were functional items. If you don't manage to get a refund within 30 days, you get scammed, and your review is deleted. That's how the fraudulent system of eBay works. I don't recommend anyone to buy anything here and feed these scammers. Another thing you need to know is that the selling commission on eBay is 15% or more. So, the question arises: why are the prices here so low when they should be the opposite? I've already mentioned the reasons above – scammers can thrive here without facing consequences. The administration encourages them by removing negative marks from dissatisfied customers they've deceived. If you think this is nonsense, try contacting customer support on Facebook, and they will confirm that indeed reviews are deleted by the administration. They don't even hide it.

As I Buyer, I give Ebay 5 Stars! As a Seller... 4. Ebay is a great site for great prices on everything and anything but just like others have said... READ THE FEEDBACK FIRST! I do a lot of business on Ebay and I've never had a minor dispute that wasn't fully resolved with a seller in a short period of time. I never had a major dispute as a buyer or ANY dispute as a seller. Just read the descriptions and give accurate descriptions and Ebay will work out just great. The Seller fees are a little higher than I'd prefer but all and all I do thousands of dollars of purchasing and selling, I have 100% and I'm very thankful for Ebay! My suggestion is to find sellers you've done business with in the past and go through them in the future, build a network of trustworthy sellers and you'll never have even a minor dispute on ebay. Hope this helps. P.S. S I won't purchase from anyone with feedback less than 98%-99%. Some people are just unreasonable but those folks are few and far between.

Was an ebay buyer for many years and a seller for about 6 months. After some learning curves (like how much to anticipate their seller fees will be, since they don't tell you beforehand) I was making a few bucks. Until a scammer halfway around the world bought something (I didn't advertise out of the US but was automatically enrolled into the new international buyers program, which made shipping and not losing money almost impossible) scammer said my item never arrived and ebay refunded them about $50 more than they paid me (refund was deducted right from my bank account, which incident realize was even possible) after a month of telling me I'd be refunded the overcharge, my account was "suspended" without any notice. This happened right after I had shipped out an item for $120 that ebay was supposed to send me a $90 payout for. So now they owe me $140ish and won't tell me why I was suspended. Mind you, my feedback rating was 100% with 5 stars across the board. It also happened after spending a lot on my inventory through their website. So now I have about $2k in inventory, a living room full of packing supplies, and nowhere to sell any of it. I also paid for a $25 item a few weeks ago that still hasn't been shipped out. Am no longer able to contact other members to ask the seller why, and am no longer covered by the ebay money back guarantee (even though I made the purchase in confidence I was covered, because when I checked out, it said so.

How are they able to do this? A class action suit needs to happen!

I tried e-bay this week to purchase some hard to get 3.7v rechargeable batteries. Ordering was simple and the 2 batteries arrived when promised BUT they didn't fit my device; they were about 1/4 of an inch too long. I thought, no problem, I will return them to the seller.
He immediately refused to take them back saying the "return is closed " I thought e-bay would assist, I was willing to pay for return postage. No help, tough luck. I will NEVER USE E-BAY again. Seller was R-LSales

Goods were never delivered and buyer said they had evidence they were - I was in all day, as I have been in lockdown, and they were NOT delivered. Ebay said the onus was on me to contact the courier. Under the Consumer Contract Regulations my contract is with the seller, the seller has to contact the courier. However Ebay insisted so I emailed courier asking for photographic and signatory evidence of where the item was "delivered". They did not reply to 3 emails. I am without the goods, know I don't have them, and the seller gets away with my £12. Ebay impossible to deal with and I have closed my account. Do not deal with them.

I sold a Apple TV in perfect condition they found in the buyers favor with no response because they said it didn't work. The Apple product was returned and worked perfectly. Deactivating my account and would rather deal with buyers in person using "OfferUp or Craigslist"

I have been using Ebay for 17 years and today is when I stop and stop recommending it to people as well. I'll try to keep it short; I sold a computer for a vehicle 100% working, had in the listing in 2 different spots that said to please make sure this is for your vehicle before purchasing because once programmed its not returnable, sold it, 3 weeks later the buyer opened a case stating "wrong item received". Reached out to the buyer and he admitted to not only saying it was the correct one from the listing but that he programed it to his truck then after realizing its not the cpc for his truck. So ebay made me do the return and refund the buyer and now have a worthless computer thats supposed to be worth $4k-$6k

Thanks Ebay!

Sold my personal beautiful cd player to a man in the states. It was packaged very well. Buyer made a claim that its damaged and not working. I opened a damage claim to canada post. A week later canada post contacted me and refused to pay for the damaged because canada post says item arrived undamaged to its destination. Now ebay is making me pay the buyer for return shipping fee and once i receive the item i have to refund his full auction fee plus his first shipping fee.

Now i got a badly damaged cd player in my hand. I lost 55 dollars to ship it. And i lost 40 dollars to get back a damaged cd player.

This is soooooo stupid. What the hell is wrong with ebay for making stupid folish policy like this. You have no idea how upset i am. so disgusted by ebay.

I listed a miner and got an offer that I accepted. Got a notification that buyer account was compromised and asked to submit bunch of documents. I submitted all of them promptly but still my account was restricted. They asked for an invoice of purchase for the miner and I submitted it. Then they asked my bank account statement and I did that too. Then they asked for bank statement that shows the invoice transaction. I told them that I paid via crypto to get the miners and that's how most miner marketplaces sell. Then they blocked my seller account indefinitely. Not only their service is rude and arrogant but also the most impractical and senseless. No wonder Amazon which is the opposite of Ebay in terms of service basically killed ebay to become the biggest ecomm marketplace. Ebay deserves it. I'm never ever gonna sell or buy via ebay every again.

Tip for consumers:
if you're an individual seller trying to sell, get ready to waste your time.
