“Ebay to my rescue!”

Ebay sorted my problem in full and deserve 5 stars as they are fair in the end. Thank Mr Ebay. Please do stop such practices adopted by sellers as that will increase public confidence.

“Ebay did not honor guarantee”

Cathy T.

A seller reported a package delivered to my address. We do not have USPS delivery here everything is left at our local office or PO Box when possible. I continued to check the post office for over a week with the postmaster. The package never arrived. I contacted the seller who said it was signed for, but it was never signed for because I am the only one who signs for anything or checks the mail. Ebay closed the case telling me no refund would be sent. There is no way this package was ever delivered, and absolutely no way I signed for it. Ebay is supposed to provide Buyer protection. They do not! I will never use Ebay again.

Purchased an item from ebay that was returned to the seller. Neither the seller or ebay would refund the money. Can't trust this site.

Tip for consumers:
Company has a return policy that they do not honor.

EBAY IS ABSOLUTELY UTTERLY CORRUPT. WHEN A SELLER ASKS TO REMOVE A NEGATIVE FEEDBACK EBAY REMOVES THE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK JUST BECAUSE SELLER ASK THEM. THEY NEVER LISTEN BUYER'S SIDE OF THE STORY. THEY NEVER INFORM BUYER BEFORE THEY REMOVE A NEGATIVE FEEDBACK.AND WHEN BUYER ASK HELP OR EXPLANATION EBAY SEND JUST NONSENSE EMAILS NEVER ADDRESS BUYERS CONCERN. EBAY NEVER HELPS BUYERS.IF YOU GET A FAULTY PRODUCT NEVER EXPECT YOU WILL GET A REFUND. WHATEVER SELLER ALLEGE THAT IS ACCEPTED BY EBAY INSTANTLY WITHOUT BUYER'S KNOWLEDGE. LEAVING NEGATIVE FEEDBACK IS A WASTE OF TIME BECAUSE WHEN A SELLER ASKS EBAY TO REMOVE IT, CONSIDER IT IS DONE, YES SIR. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM EBAY AGAIN. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A FAIRY TALE IF YOU NEED IT FROM EBAY.

I have been selling on eBay for over 17 yrs. Wow, it was great in the beginning! In fact, I was able to make it my only job for a period of time in the past. However as time went on, rules became more stringent for sellers and more lax for buyers. In the recent years, I have had buyers take advantage of the "not as described" reason for return. Once a buyer states this as a reason for return, it automatically means the seller pays for return shipping. A buyer can be a nightmare and no way to let the public know because no negatives or even neutral is able to be given to a buyer. I have sold one item that I know was working and the buyer claimed it did not. When they returned the heavy item (lots of return postage I had to pay) I got back a DIFFERENT item than the one I shipped out. However eBay still gave them their money and I was left with a damaged non working item AND my money. Recently someone claimed I sent a different item than the one in the listing claiming "the stitching looks different". I had no similar item so no way that was possible. This is all so frustrating dealing with the buyers that get snotty and accusatory. So after 17 yrs, I am hanging it up! I Will still be a buyer because now I know I can return anything at someone elses expense if the notion hits me. I can also buy a similar model electronics item and say "not as described" and return to them my old dead one at their expense! They do have many bargains so it is a great place to buy. They are all about the buyers.

I've been an eBay member over 12 years with 100% perfect rating, and with eBay not depositing funds in PayPal has made never wanting to sell again! I know now they are not with PayPal, but they still accept it for payments?! Sold an item for a little over $300 and eBay took $50! It's at 12.9% seller fee with other fees added. Was told too mail item by eBay even tho payment was in eBay possession and not mine! Said for next 25 transactions all of the payments would be put on hold till they can verify if item was received! EBay rep said they are doing everyone like this! Never ever did I think a perfect ebayer with 0 problems would be treated like this. It's like the new law, guilty till proven guilty! It's like why strive for perfect reviews when eBay as a company could careless? Spoke with about 4 different people from Dubai until I was able to speak with someone proficient in English language. You don't have to listen to me, but if your expecting payment it will be late and way under what you sold for! Very upsetting when funds were going towards child bday party! No more selling for me!

The folks down at eBay work hard at what they do and they do it well. The maintenance of the site is always done well to support a wide variety of browsing experiences; from Mobile Web to the latest version of polished chrome, I am never dissappointed by it's fresh looks. When it comes to actual purchases eBay can be a very customer friendly experience both for the buyer and the seller, However, as you may have guessed, It can also feel like one of the worst desicions of your life. Let's be real; bad things happen, but when they do happen you can be sure PayPal and or eBay will go out of their way to help make it right. On many occasions I have had sellers make stupid choices (Putting an iPad in a flimsy bubble wrap pouch...) After a quick contact with eBay or the seller I have always been reimbursed for damages to purchased products. As for the customer service? Well, it's off-shore that's for sure. Not much more I can say about that; Just expect a typical foreign customer service representative.

I have used this site for years, and have had few problems. Purchases are easily completed and arrive quickly, and many of the sellers are very accomodating if you have problems with the purchases. I have also sold successfully on this site and had good customers.

In ten years, I've only used the dispute process three times, but found it to be very easy and obtained a refund with no problems though paypal. I love this site and will continue to use it for many years to come for all my online purchases.

I have also successfully sold several used items on ebay and never had any problems from my buyers, although browsing the forums will turn up some horror stories about dishonest buyers. There is scamming on both sides of the deal, but most people who use ebay are honest and just looking for a fair deal for their money, which I try to provide. I'm not too into their new rules about waiting for your money until you can prove an item is delivered or 21 days, but using DC will help fix that problem.

I have also called their customer service and managed to get my problems taken care of quickly and with little problems. I like ebay, its all around a great site.

I ordered an item of clothing from the site, www.liketwice.com on 7/30/15, and received a confirmation email the same day, then a second email confirming my order had been shipped on 8/4/15. The shipping service was DHL, with a tracking number provided. I tracked the shipment for several weeks, and every day it stated DHL was waiting for the package to be dropped off at the shipping site. Last week the tracking number stopped functioning, and I contacted DHL who stated they never received the package from www.liketwice.com. I attempted to contact www.liketwice.com to resolve the issue, however they have since closed down and merged with eBay Valet. There is no way to contact the company regarding orders not received.

I have since filed a complaint with the Greater San Francisco BBB, and I suggest everyone who has had a similar experience do the same. The website to do so is listed below:

Tracked Postage Isn't Enough!
I have just been scammed for £1100 without any support from Ebay, the member who scammed me had 0 feedback although I am a top rated power seller! I sent an items via a tracked and signed service and although the item was showing as delivered the buyer somehow managed to avoid signing. They then complained the items wasn't received although the status on the courier website and even on Ebay showed as delivered! I also provided a receipt showing address the item was delivered to along with date and time it was sent and if this wasn't enough I also provided an email from the postal service confirming delivery but guess what? EBAY STILL REFUNDED THE SCAMMER! Pathetic and very disappointing!

My husband saw campers on eBay and tried to buy one and the seller said he needed to buy eBay gift cards... he bought half when the store selling wouldn't sell him anymore stating it was probably a scam and eBay scams people all the time. So he called the seller and the seller said, "Oh no problem just pay me what you have ($600 of $1200 needed). My husband did not follow through. EBay would not give him his money back for the gift card and we got stuck with them. I purchased a purple hp laptop... it is a piece of $#*!. It was supposed to be NEW and it had scratches all over it. It was supposed to come with office 365 and does not. It keeps saying the Internet website for Microsoft is not available. I have an Office 365 card that I also bought off eBay for my other laptop, and that is a bunk link too. I have yet to receive the other items I purchased. I am not feeling too confident and I still have $200 to blow on this stupid website. I purchased a wireless ergonomic mouse today. It didn't "take" my gift card number. It said my gift card number was no good! WHAT!?! It charged my paypal. This is the WORST experience ever and I won't buy from this website ever again after I spend these stupid gift cards my husband bought. I would like to deck my husband for being so stupid. Regardless, we paid $600 cash for these gift cards and should be able to use them without issues. It is asking me to post proof of purchase? NO way. Someone on here will probably steal the barcode information and rip us off more.

I've bought and sold on eBay for more than ten years. If you want to sell something online, it doesn't get any better than eBay. I like to think of it as an online garage sale. The advantage of selling on eBay over having a garage sale is exposure. Instead of having random people from a limited local area looking at what you are trying to sell, you get a nationwide, or worldwide, audience. And your auction listing will also get a targeted audience. For the most part, the people looking at the item you list are people who are interested in exactly what you are trying to sell. They had to search for your auction to find it. With a targeted nationwide audience, that item that you would be lucky to sell for $10 at a garge sale might now find buyers willing to pay many times more. You can make a greater profit when selling on eBay compared to selling through other common venues.

As a buyer, sometimes eBay is the only place you would be able to find stuff. If you're looking for used, vintage, antique, collectable, rare, unique, one-of-a-kind items, eBay is still the best place on the internet to find them. Over the years, eBay has evolved into a marketing tool for sellers offering brand new products, and sometimes you can find good deals on those items too.

I love eBay.

I made my first purchase and was so excited to get it. I bought 7 pair of jeans because they are my favorite cut and the brand had discontinued it. I used the first time purchaser coupon and couldn't wait to try on my jeans hoping everything would fit well. I ordered most in my current size but even ordered a couple pair in the next size up for post baby clothes since we're planning to have kids next years and I figured a pair of my favorite jeans might make me feel good then. But they arrived and 5 out of the 7 were short lengths and it hadn't said that anywhere! I'm no skyscraper but I'm tall enough that short jeans look really silly on me. I emailed the company to let them know they had a problem in their listing system and they told me not to bother trying to return anything because my purchase had been marked as final sale! I was never warned about this prior to making my purchase.

This is totally WRONG. They labeled their items incorrectly and now won't let me return them despite advertising that they allow returns. DON'T shop here! They are just trying to rip you off!

Tip for consumers:
Avoid it. It's a total scam. The items are mislabeled and they will stop you from returning things without warning.

Ebay cheats people out of money by saying thing are free to relist then when you relist they charge you for relisting. They also recomend that you do this or that so your item will sell better they charge for that and numerous other things they say are free they charge anyway. When you call them about it they say we don't do that give me an example of what you are talking about, so you give them the example and they still DOUBLE TALK and lie about it. They were a good place to buy and sell when they first starter the website but now they have gotten so greet you can not make any money on Ebay because they charge for thing they say are FREE

EBay has no respect for its sellers people can break something and use it and say it came that way and get a full refund and a negative a mark on your account for up to a year! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY FROM THE BUYER! They dont care about us buyers who are trying to make a living for out famillys!

I took a break from selling on eBay and since I've returned, it's been a waste of time and I've actually LOST money.

I sold a few items in an auction. The shipping is calculated a lot differently that how it was in the past. Apparently, my shipping fees were too low so eBay took the difference out of my debit account. If I hadn't looked at my bank statement I wouldn't''t have known this. I lost about $4 on each item. When the items were selling for.99 and $2, it cost me more to ship it then what I made lol.

Another issue I have is the "Listing Ad Rate" for non auction items. When I didn't have it turned on my items would just sit there for months with NO ONE seeing them. Now, eBay expects sellers to pay between 2% and 100% of the sales total just so buyers can see what they're selling. If you're selling an item for $25 and you want people to see it, expect to pretty much give all of your profits to eBay.

Their shipping costs used to be reasonable, but now they're a joke. It costs $9 to ship a lightweight shirt to someone! Because of that, I've had to drop my prices significantly. I mean who wants to pay $9 for something that weighs a few ounces?

I've used eBay on and off for years and made a decent amount of money. Now, it seems the only one making money is eBay. There are plenty of other websites and apps that offer a similar service but they're transparent and they aren't out to screw everyone over.

I have shopped at Ebay for many years. However, lately there have been countless problems. First, I bought flea collars which turned out to be counterfeit because they are not authorized on Ebay (I checked with the manufacturer). I let Ebay know. They told me to send them every link of the counterfeit items or they would not do anything about it. There are hundreds. Then, I tried to buy a few clothing items which were marked at a certain price. After I chose my size and color, the price went up to almost double. There are also many jewelry items falsely described. They say 14k gold, diamonds or Moissanite, etc. They aren't. I know because they are too inexpensive (I love good jewelry and buy a lot of it). They are actually cubic zirconia and cheap metal. Also, you have to choose certified jewelry to buy the real thing. I trust almost nothing that Ebay sells. I only buy things which I can tell are genuine at the price shown. I would not even trust that Ebay's down coats really have down. I would not buy a down coat or many other items on Ebay. My pictures below will prove these statements.
