I recently faced challenges on Freelancer.com and want to share my experience. Initially, my time on the platform was positive as I connected with clients and offered my freelance services. However, my account was unexpectedly restricted, and the platform's response lacked clarity, leaving me uncertain about alleged violations. Additionally, I encountered delays in withdrawing earnings. I believe Freelancer.com should focus on:
Clear communication about alleged violations and account restrictions.
Timely access to earned funds.
Efficient customer support.
I hope my feedback contributes to platform improvements for a more supportive and transparent experience.
Freelancer.com is a well known internet based stage that interfaces organizations with self employed entities and specialists for various ventures and errands. As a consultant myself, I have utilized Freelancer.com to look for a job on various events and have had a for the most part certain involvement in the stage. Something I appreciate most about Freelancer.com is the large number of ventures accessible. From visual computerization and web improvement to composing and promoting, there is a different determination of chances to browse. This assortment permits me to feature my abilities and aptitude in various regions and find projects that line up with my inclinations. One more part of Freelancer.com that I find useful is the capacity to offer on projects. This component permits me to go after work and haggle with clients to guarantee fair pay for my administrations. Also, the stage gives instruments to follow time, speak with clients, and oversee installments, making the independent cycle smoother.
NEVER EVER EVER use this site. You will regret it. When you accept work, they take a fee from you right away, (usually 10% of what the employer is supposed to pay you). The problem with this is the employers never give you work or respond. I've had over $100 in project fees taken from me. Not to mention the monthly fee of being on the site. Once i contacted customer service they basically told me it was my fault for not knowing any better and that they couldnt do anything for me.
I recently experienced exceptional customer support at Freelancer.com that I wish to commend. Reaching out through their live chat, I was quickly connected with a representative, demonstrating Freelancer.com's commitment to prompt service.
The representative, Jewel, provided a warm and attentive response, thoroughly understanding my issue without rushing the conversation. Their expertise shone through as they offered clear, actionable solutions, simplifying complex procedures with ease.
The questions had taken a bit of time to answer, though that's to be expected with chat systems vs over a phone call. Took maybe a few minutes longer than a phone call, but in a lot of ways was much more convenient, and I could do other things while waiting for agents to respond. Overall, a good experience, and I got my questions answered.
Es muy buena, pero yo no tengo tiempo y no pude funcionar
Wanted to renew my verified badge from them. It was an excellent experience in doing so. Looking forward to working with them further.
Communicating with potential freelancers on this web site is very awkward due to horrible interface design, Anyway, I contracted a freelancer on freelancer.com to make my site audit and deposited the requested amount of money. Instead of the audit, the freelancer gave me a recommendation totally unrelated to my job description - to use social media ads. I requested to cancel my contract and refund me. Approximately 10 days later I received an email from freelancer requesting more funds to continue reviewing the dispute. My advise: stay awa from this company. Use their competition, like upwork.
Darra is a brilliant and helpful person, Helped me a lot to know more about the withdrawal and payment system on Freelancer.com and gave me a lot of instructions on how to use payments and other things.
I am so stress out that I can't get to delete my account. I just really want to delete it and thanks to Averie for helping me to close it!
Whenever I face any issues, I go to support team. He is really helpful and do his best to help me. Thank you freelancer support team.🙏
Just perfect, everything went smooth and fast thank you so much
I'll be brief, I've been wanting to use the freelancer services properly for a long time, but this problem with the verification issue was a thorn in my side, so I'm grateful to the person who helped me solve the problem.
I put forward my concerns and Cresilda solved them in no time. Really grateful for her assisstance and support
I did a job for a client. Until then, everything seemed normal. Until they charged me the membership of the money that was in the process of withdrawal.
Unfortunately, at least for them, I no longer feel like using the platform anymore. Likewise, I have consulted the Australian embassy to make a formal claim and requested the federal government to cancel the domain assigned to that company in my country. This isn't free guys!
Jonny was a joy to be interviewed by. He was efficient, friendly and thorough, even giving examples of certain situations to make sure I understood the SLA. Freelancer.com is lucky to have him!
Employer leaves false feedback and I get my account restricted and no access to my own money as a result.
I refused to work on a project that a client had awarded me because they refused to pay a penny until I sent them the completed files, not just an example, but the completed files.
Freelancer seem to think that this is normal business practice and have taken my rights to withdraw my own money from the platform and have told me to contact the client and ask them to remove the false feedback despite it being evident in our chat history that they are lying.
Quite possibly the worst service you will ever see on a website considering I generate them thousands of pounds £GBP in business every year.
Jayce l was helpful to and professional. They tried to solve my problem and I am satisfied with the service.
I was having an issue with my membership subscription and the online live agent, Magenta S. Was being really helpful and patiently providing explanation on the situation occurred, hence resolving my issue. I am very satisfied. Thank you
Good but my expectation was not fulfilled the term and condition need for the freelancer.com needs to look and changed
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
