Just wanted to make one deposit for my first project awarded, it then proceeded to take 3 payments! Don't use this site, they will use your paypal and credit card like their own personal bank account. UNSAFE!
It's been nice working on freelancer.com from last 2 years. Fantastic customer support. A clean system with fab features. Easy to understand and you can earn well if you got the skills. Give it a try.
Freelancer.com has very bad standards, too many fake projects posted each day, deduct fees on fake projects and automatically reverse the milestone with informing worker. After that their support staff do not want to listen anything!
I thought I had overpaid my freelancer by 200%.
The support clarified that the funds/credit were still sitting in my account ready to be used whenever needed. Ethel J was patient and helpful. It all seems simple when someone walks you through the process. Such a relief.
Hired three developers, two got stuck on the same level, the other one wanted 70% of payment released after creating one content type(drupal) keeping in mind the project was 30+ past due date. If you want professional help seek it from genuine companies, not middle man(company) that connect you to the service provider/developer
Well, looks good and you probably earn something of one tries hard enough but I did nothing at all and also got unpleasantly surprised with the self-prolonging premium membership. I will do my best not to overlook such things some other time. Hopefully next time I'll know better.
I have used freelancer.com for the last 3 years as an employee. Generally, my employing had been done smoothly but sometimes required bad actions. At that time, I could lean on freelancer.com support team members. They are very kind and provide essential ways.
You know I just contacted with one agency, Debra E., today. As expected, he supported me kindly.
I recommend freelancer.com.
I have done 10+ years experienced in SEO and Web Development field as a Independent Contractor. But I have noticed freelancer is well to another freelance website. Solved my all queries with clear points. Thank you for your help.
Kimberly R. Was very helpful, patient, and friendly. I had some questions about using wire transfer in Nigeria and she answered them all, as well as gave a useful link to an article on the subject. Keep it up, Kim :)
Ashton D. Guided very well. But with Freelancer our feedback is worst. Freelancer.com please help new freelancer's regarding such type of issue. Dont allow to create fake profile. Verify all details first. Its genuine request to you.
Jennifer M. Addressed be diligently. She assisted me on how to add payment method. Following her help it went well. Now waiting for processing. Thank you once again Jennifer M. And Freelancer.com at large.
As the star rating says - Doesn't get any worse than this. Stay away!
I have used odesk before and had little or no trouble but when i have i have been able to go via their dispute procedure and get a result.
Sadly this does not even exist within Freelancer.
They are simply a go-between and wash their hand completely of any involvement between you and the contractor.
My own stupid fault for not finding this site first.
I hope others can learn from this and take heed - stay clear!
It is open to fraud on the biggest scale.
I could open an account offer a load of false images as work done and get a few ratings from iffy friends. Then after taking a a dozen NON-REFUNDABLE down payments clear off with the funds.
I have lost... or should i say had stolen... nearly $200
Feel gutted and no way to get it back.
He was fast a accurate responding to my request, i hope all customer service agents work like him, because some times they don't feel how the customer is angry or nervous toward his problem.
But honestly Mr. Eric was smart and deal with it the right way.
Jodie helped me understand payment methods clearly, however they are not very handy for people who work from egypt like me.
It is not available to get express transfer or payoneer card payments. Its a major downside to using the website
Big Fraud... whenever i try to withdraw my money, the only response i get is that account is under review. Its been around two months. Worst customer service. Even auto-generated emails are better than their representatives. Never use this website.
I just wanted to clarify something from my news feed, specifically a notification that's still counting down even when we already resolved the dispute. Orion answered my question clearly and quickly. Thanks!
Agent Charlotte B, was simply great - clear instructions and processed my request without fuss! Embarrassed by the level of customer service offered in the UK compared to you guys! Keep up the good work - & give Charlotte a days vacation for being so helpful;-)
Ashton D, the one who provided me support has been calm, very kind and patient in answering all my questions. I believe this guy deserves good rating. And that's why I am writing feedback second time after closing my browser tab accidentally. He is simply best.
When working with a digital platform, you need live chat or very quick support ticket response - I have used freelancer for many years but my latest query took over a week to resolve, which is not good
The platform has been amazing for finding work on short notice, albeit there are quite a few opportunities to sift through, the ability to have projects and clients laid out ready to begin is something not readily available elsewhere.
As for customer service, I recently had a bit of issue with a client but thankfully Eileen from their social media team was able to step in and help me resolve the situation completely.
For any freelancer looking to enter the industry, Freelancer.com provides a great stepping stone and can grow into a valuable source of income if you cultivate your relationships well enough.
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
