I placed an order with Florist.com on 5/4 with same day delivery. When the recipient had not received the flowers by 4:30 I called Customer Service for an update on my order. Was in informed that they would contact the local florist and then call me with an update. I did not receive and update and my mother did not receive her flowers.

Fast forward to Tuesday morning (5/5). I waited until 10:30 to contact Florist.com to give them time since my call the previous day was towards the end of the business day. I called and spoke with David and explained my situation. He stated that he would contact the florist and provide an update for me. He was prompt and called me back just after 11:00. The florist had rejected the order due to having so many orders.

I was not notified of the florist rejecting the order when they did so. I was not notified later in the day that the florist rejected my order. In fact, I had to call the company two separate times to find this information out.

Their brilliant solution to this problem was to refund my money and send me on my way. I explained to them that was not what I wanted. I wanted my mother to receive flowers. After finding a comparable arrangement David wanted me to pay more since they could not deliver what I picked out orignally. When I asked to speak with his supervisor he informed me that he was the supervisor. I then asked to speak with the employee that ranks above him. Well, of course he was in a meeting but he did provide me with a name and number. David asked me to hold on while he checked something out. We were then disconnected and I received a call back just like my mom received her flowers. Oh, thats right, we didnt receive anything! Since I have called numerous times trying to get a hold of Customer Service since being disconnected with no avail I decided to call Davids supervisor. The number I was given connected me to 1-800-flowers. Clever, David. Very clever.

At this point I am out of money, out of flowers, and out of patience. This is the first negative review I have ever written about a company but, going along with that, this is the worst Customer Service I have received.

Never delivered my Mother's Day flowers
May 7, 2022

I ordered 3 weeks in advance and selected delivery of the Friday before to avoid the rush and ensure an on time delivery. Their delivery window is 9am - 8pm and was promised for the Friday but never showed up. Instead around 7.50pm it was suddenly marked as delivered. I had to place 3 days to FTD.
1st Call - 8.55pm Friday I called and they asked me to wait until 9pm. Then offered to redeliver the next day. I has to ask for an email confirmation of that. I did receive one that was poorly written and had no order number or tracking of any kind. They claimed to send a $10 refund but that was never received.
2nd Call - 5.34pm Saturday I called to make sure the order was going to arrive. They promised that it would.
3rd Call - 8.15pm Saturday I called when there was still no delivery of the Mother's Day flowers. My siblings used another service and my mom received theirs. FTD stated they would refund my money and that was that. No apology or comensuration for the horrible service.

In my opinion this is an unreliable and not dependable service. I will never use FTD ever again.

TERRIBLE
June 26, 2018

FLOWERS DIED IN TWO DAYS! THERE WERE SIX CALLS PLACED AND NO RETURN CALLS, 1 INQUIRY ON THE WEBSITE AND 2 EMAILS. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE!

I unfortunately had to be out of town for my anniversary and decided to order flowers through FTD. I wanted to surprise my wife on the day of our anniversary. They guaranteed delivery by 6:00PM and at 4:22PM on our anniversary day I get an email with the following:

"We're sorry, but despite our best efforts, we are unable to deliver your order on the date you initially requested for LXXX MXXXXX.
We understand how important your order is, and care deeply about your experience. We would like to offer you the following options:
*Deliver my order at the next available date:
We can still deliver your order within the next 3 days with a $10 refund applied to your order
* Cancel my order and refund me in full:
We will refund your order in Full and provide you a $10.00 discount off a future purchase. Use www.FTD.com/get10off to take advantage of this offer"

WHAT A DEAL AND WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! DELIVER MY ORDER WITHIN 3 DAYS AND GET A WHOPPING $10 SAVINGS ON OVERPRICED FLOWERS (WOW). AND REALLY...WITHIN 3 DAYS. GLAD THEY HAD SUCH A SENSE OF URGENCY TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM.

I will be home before they will be able to deliver so I will go to a reputable florist and have a fresh bouquet of flowers done so I know they are fresh and as advertised (as many people complain of poor quality flowers delivered by FTD) and will be much less than the premium I paid.

NEVER AGAIN FTD!

Unethical Privacy Policy
February 4, 2021

I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers a few days ago and the note said the flowers were from "God." An extremely judgmental/corrective scripture followed (James 4:7-10). To say the least, I was bothered. I called 1-800-Flowers, who was the brand on the note. The lady who answered was very kind, but she said she didn't know who ordered the flowers, as the order was actually placed with FTD, and I needed to call them instead. When I called FTD, it was obvious I was calling another country. The woman on the other end of the line couldn't understand me, and I couldn't understand her. Background noise, delay, language barrier... It was a very frustrating experience. I explained that the message was creepy, and I needed to know who sent the flowers. I was told that due to their privacy policy, they could not reveal the sender. I tried to escalate to management, but no luck. After three calls, an American, English-speaking woman picked up. Finally! When I calmly explained the situation, she actually began raising her voice at me, ranting that "It's a BIBLE VERSE!" and therefore not something I should be upset about. I again explained that the context of the scripture is actually very insulting, and it was anonymously from "God." Honestly, who sends flowers anonymously anyway (particularly with a passive-aggressive message from "God") unless you are a creeper, a stalker, a bully, or just plain crazy? Bottom line is that orders should not be able to be sent anonymously to protect recipients from senders in these categories. A one-sided privacy policy leaves the recipient in a vulnerable position without an advocate. Because of this antiquated policy, I feel harassed without recourse. I would've much rather not have received the arrangement at all due to the insulting and ominous note that accompanied it, and now I have no way of knowing who did this. Also, FTD has terrible customer service personnel who can't effectively communicate with customers and/or will berate people who call in with legitimate concerns when there is conflict. And finally, I'm also very disappointed in 1-800-Flowers, who happily accepts anonymous orders from intermediaries like FTD. Shame on you both! For all these reasons, avoid FTD and 1-800-Flowers and use a local shop instead. These corporations only seem to follow the money and don't care about the end user. If all florists accept anonymous senders, that is a universal policy that should definitely be changed across the board. But giants like FTD and 1-800-Flowers should set an ethical example and a higher industry standard for the little guys. And on the basis of customer service alone, I would definitely advise you to stay away.
