I booked a hotel to coincide with a jazz festival and my 32nd wedding anniversary. Unfortunate my nephew passed form cancer. The funeral is being held during the time I booked the vacation. The small print on the reservation said NO REFUND. I had no luck with Affirm who paid the amt in full. Finally, when i reached out to geta room, I was treated with compassion and respect and within 24 hours Affirm received a refund and I am no longer on the hook for this. They did what affirm did not do in a week in 24hrs, Affirm even asked me to send in a copy of the obituary! When I called the next day, they said they did not ask for it. GETAROOM solved my problem. Bait and switch reservation website. Horrible to non-existent customer service - they are trained and scripted to give you the run around. They always can not find your reservation, can not confirm your identity, will provide a new number for you to call next, and will promise to get back to you in 24-48 hours and never do. Wave goodbye to your $ if you book with them.
Our booking was quick and easily made. We booked 5 twin rooms and the price was very competitive, the cost was in US dollars so be prepared to do a currency conversion. Never used GetARoom before so hope all goes well with our booking later this year!
DO NOT USE Them. Have had to deal with 5 representatives and was disconnected 3 times. They told me my reservation was cancelled and I would get a full refund yet when I called the Hyatt they told me otherwise. I was yelled at and hung up on. How can they be in business? Hyatt should stop doing business with this group of incompetents.

Do NOT book through GetARoom.com. They use shady practices where you believe you are clicking on the hotel site. They also book hotels that do not have rooms available. For us, we booked a room which wasn't available in Athens, TN. We called them within 10 minutes and they stated they would process a refund but it would be 3-5 days before we received it "depending on our financial institution" I called 5 business days later, they stated it's already in process and I needed to wait another 3-5 days. I called back 3 business days later and was told "they have a new process and it wasn't processed correctly. You need to wait another 3-5 business days." Each time waiting and being placed on hold multiple times. IT IS A SCAM! Read reviews, it's the same story over and over.

Booked a room and on arrival at the hotel I found they had my name correct, but nothing else--wrong address, wrong credit card. Called getaroom to find out why they transmitted someone else's address and credit card type and number to my reservation and what hotel got my address and card info. Had to talk to someone whose english was barely decipherable, wasting half an hour to no avail. Finally called my card company and cancelled my card (took two minutes). The kicker is getaroom charged me $106 but the hotel receipt said the room charge was only $71! Avoid this site at all costs!
Agent did not identify that he was not working for the hotel chain that we were booking and that using this service would cost an extra $30 above the hotel fee.
Service rep called and listened to my complaints very respectfully. She explained that the room price we saw on the receipt from the hotel was their cost and we would never get such a rate because an individual consumer can't buy in bulk like they do. She offered a $20 credit as compensation. This is good customer service.

Cheers to GetARoom for paying attention to issues brought forward and dealing with them. After no response from the rep that sold us the rooms, a less than pleased post on sitejabber, I was reached out to by getaroom and my issue was resolved. I didn't ask for the world, just the going rate for the room and not what I was charged. Very happily made it right. Very impressed that they cared enough to reach out and deal with it... Well done!
Booked with GetARoom, for a hockey tournament, Chris our rep got us a price of 109US, non cancellable, plus service fees and taxes a room. The same day other families booked the same room for 89 with no fees through the hotel! Many of us have called and have not go a call back from GetARoom to make it right. Do not recommend.
Made a reservation in St Louis through this company but I needed to cancel due to my radiation treatment appointment. I called to cancel 3 days in advance but they refused to refund anything. Shame on me for not reading the fine print, but that is just very bad business.
Sponsored advertisement thought I was hitting the hotel website. Advertised a $475 room at $625 and claimed it was a last minute deal. Said the total was $625 and when I confirmed payment it charge my card $914 with no option to cancel. When I contacted the website customer service they processed a $60 refund and blamed me saying all fees were previously disclosed.

I made reservation 2 weeks in advance. Which they lost and double book another person. I paid extra on the front desk to get another reservation. Now they refused to refund and running me in circles and having me wait for 4 hrs. This is absolutely unacceptable.

Update: I received a full refund after posting this review and two others, so I changed my rating from one to two stars. I would still not use this company again though.
Complete scam. They take your money, pay the hotel, and charge you absurd service fees. Then they say your purchase is nonrefundable even a full week before the stay. They also let you cancel your reservation but then charge you another "fee" in the full amount of the booking. I just had a hotel tell me they would be happy to refund the room they booked for me if they would pass that refund on to me, but they still refused. Someone should shut this scam of a website down. I am completely baffled by the generally positive reviews here. Perhaps people thing $70 is a reasonable price to have someone book a hotel room for you that you could have done yourself for free?

The representative was knowledgeable, responsive to our request for ground-floor rooms due to our advanced ages and various trouble climbing stairs. I was warned by a review that there is no elevator. We have three women all over the age of 75 staying there in one of two rooms reserved for one night.
Worst experience ever had a reservation for 3 rooms with 2 queen beds. And when I got there they didn't have my rooms they gave me 3 rooms with king bed and sofa bed. Manager in site was so rude and disrespectful will never purchase though this or stay at there hotel again

By far the worst hotel site on the web, book a smoking kind bed room at hollywood florida, then when i got there i was told that the hotel is a non smoking hotel. Called the company and ask to be moved to another hotel they charged me again and promised to return the credit onto my card. They never did, i've called them 4 times and they say the same thing, it is being processed. Tomorrow I will call my bank and place a claim on them.
We booked a hotel in London through Getaroom.com. They sent booking confirmation. The day before we were due to travel a friend told me to check my reservation with the hotel as he had heard getaroom were unreliable. I checked and the hotel knew nothing of the booking. After numerous calls to Getaroom costing me over £30 it was sorted out. Only contact number for them is in America and they didn't answer my emails. They have refused to refund the cost of my calls and refused to call me back saying it was company policy not to call customers back. When we arrived at the hotel they told me that they get numerous problems with Getaroom and advised I use another agent in future. I strongly recommend you stay clear of this lot!
I stayed 2 nights at Hampton Inn in AZ, $180/night and got an unexplained charge for "taxes and fees". This was my first time booking through getaroom.com and I could not decipher the charge. Within 24 hours, I got an e-mail from getaroom.com and they settled the issue to my complete satisfaction. Must say I'm not used to answers that fast, even in our digital age.
If you want to be yelled at or hung up, then use this site. They are so unprofessional. When I googled Holiday Inn, I pushed make a reservation and got these people. They never told me they were not Holiday Inn. They charged me $211 for a room that goes for $101. Once I realized, it was too late. They charged my card and when I complained about something else that happened, they hung up on me! Very bad service and a rip off!

After I clicked on the red circles indicating our check in and check out dates, and given my credit card info, the screen said that I had booked that day's date. Because you have no same day cancellation policy, I lost $650 plus dollars. An hour later on the phone w your company, the hotel, my credit card company, Christopher, a manager finally relented to allow me to apply the charge to the dates I wanted originally. This is a scam! How many other people have you pulled this on? I will never ever ever ever do business w your company again!

I enjoyed staying here for 3 nights with my daughter. Rooms were clean and ready for guests. All supplies were stocked. Maid service continued to check on us. Clerk at front desk was polite and more than willing to help with my needs.
After my review I received a phone call from getaroom and their customer service person said they would refund us the cost of breakfast for our stay. They took responsibility for the mistake between the hotel and booking company. My issue was resolved.
I called to book a reservation through Holiday Inn with the number I thought I got directly from the website for Holiday Inn. When I arrived at the hotel and checked in she told me it was through a third party. They had the reservation so I didn't think much about it. The next morning we went down for breakfast that was to be included in our reservation that we paid a higher price for and she said the reservation they had for us didn't include breakfast and we would have to contact our third party vendor for help. The help number wouldn't give me a person, just kept hanging up on me. I pulled up the reservation in email and it said free breakfast on it, but the hotel couldn't see that because it was a third party. Then I see the $107.16 fee for the booking added on to my reservation.
We are home now and I finally found a different number to call and got a person that said you are a third party vendor and the lack of free breakfast was holiday inn's responsibility.
Your customer service said holiday inn should have looked at the reservation on my receipt and given us breakfast based on my reservation receipt not the reservation booked by your company. When I said refund he practically laughed at me!
When I booked she said the price with breakfast would be higher, was I sure I wanted that higher one and I said yes, because that was important to a family of four. I would like a refund for the higher priced "with breakfast" reservation for two nights that I paid for but didn't get. Because breakfast wasn't on the holiday inn's reservation for us and your customer service "help" number on my receipt would not give me a person to talk to about it while there.

I booked a room but the catch was the date I wanted was not available so it automatically chose the date for me after paying. So I immediately called to cancel, I was on hold from 11:30 to 1:30 and now they are trying to read me the terms and conditions. They are now doing me a favor and reaching out to see if they can cancel but I will still get charged the recovery of 58. What a joke. Never again. I attached a screenshot of just one call. Definitely going to the better business bureau on this. As well our company will not be using this site as well hopefully spread the word to stay away.

They will over charge you claiming its taxes and fees and the customer service will not help you out. We paid 471 for two night stay at a $160 a night room. Like someone else said, they deserve negative stars. Worse company ever!

When I encountered difficulties with being charged extra fees in USD this company went out of its way to contact me and provide credits for these extra charges. Canadians be aware that in some cases the website may list prices in USD. We appreciated their customer service efforts and would consider checking their rates in future and would use their services if they are shown to be competitive.
I am livid. My credit card statement came in and I was charged in US dollars. I called them and they said there is nothing they can do. I don't even know how I ended up with Get. A. room. I thought I reserved the room though the booking office for Days Inn. Bunch of rip off/scam artists.

Hotel said I did not have a room. Even though getaroom said I did. Got 2 hours of sleep due to the guest next door blaring their TV tell 4 am. The hotel did nothing to fix this problem. Never will use getaroom again or stay at this hotel. Customer service at getaroom is horrible... there is NEVER a supervisor available and they hang up on you all the time

The stay was great. However, we booked it through Priceline's affiliate getaroom.com. We booked ahead because it was Thanksgiving weekend. When we awoke to leave, the hotel left their rate slip under the door per normal. It was over $135 LESS than the third party rate we paid with getaroom. I contacted getaroom to dispute the huge difference in price. They would not give us a full refund of the difference in price. Needless to say, I will NEVER use them again. I should have just booked with the hotel or checked a week ahead of time so I could still cancel to get the much lower rate directly from the hotel.
The hotel was fine and we will definitely stay there again, as we recently moved and it is affordable and near family. But getaroom--no thanks. We paid 38% more than the hotel would have charged--what a rip off!
