I booked a hotel to coincide with a jazz festival and my 32nd wedding anniversary. Unfortunate my nephew passed form cancer. The funeral is being held during the time I booked the vacation. The small print on the reservation said NO REFUND. I had no luck with Affirm who paid the amt in full. Finally, when i reached out to geta room, I was treated with compassion and respect and within 24 hours Affirm received a refund and I am no longer on the hook for this. They did what affirm did not do in a week in 24hrs, Affirm even asked me to send in a copy of the obituary! When I called the next day, they said they did not ask for it. GETAROOM solved my problem. Bait and switch reservation website. Horrible to non-existent customer service - they are trained and scripted to give you the run around. They always can not find your reservation, can not confirm your identity, will provide a new number for you to call next, and will promise to get back to you in 24-48 hours and never do. Wave goodbye to your $ if you book with them.
I was contacted after my review on Site Jabber of this company and its practices. They did provide a full refund of my money. Thank you for that. I would still be very careful when using ANY booking service and still recommend you contact the hotel directly by phone for bookings.
Original review. I mistakenly booked thru this site, also known as Reservationonline.com which I was redirected to from the actual Hotel's web site. I realized I booked a night when the event I was to attend was actually taking place the next week. I contacted them at the 800 number and they would not simply change the date. NO REFUND was requested just a simple change of date. The reservation says non-refundable. I never asked for a refund just a simple change of date. Save yourself the loss of your money and ALWAYS contact the hotel directly to book, which was my intention. This redirect on a hotel's web site cost me $200.

Tried booking room directly with Wyndham but got redirected to getaroom. Booked room on 10/9:22 for a one night stay on 9/22/22. Room was $87. After booking I was told due to short notice of booking it would be non refundable. After that I was told tax and "additional fees" brought the total to $140.! If this isn't a scam I don't know what you would call it!

The worst! What a true rip off company! I cancelled my room immediately after I realized it was for the wrong date and they are giving me the run around about giving me my money back, as if I should accept the loss of 72$! DO NOT book with this company!
They are available and happy to communicate when you're booking and paying, but if you have an emergency even medical they are Not helpful and blame it on the hotel which the hotel said was no true. Book with somebody else and avoid these folks.
Do yourself a favor and book with the hotel directly. I booked multiple rooms for a church function. This company literally makes almost twice as much off of your booking with them. I called in to try to cancel and it was past the time by 2 minutes for them to be able to refund most of the finances back and they would not. I would say save your time and call directly to a hotel and get a better rate!

They have an odd policy about confirming a reservation with the hotel. I wanted to extend my reservation by one night, so I called the hotel, but I was not in their system. The next day, same thing. GetARoom said it could take up to 72 hours before my hotel heard about my reservation. The hotel reservations person said that she had never heard of such a thing in the 17 years she's been doing this. For a moment I was worried that I had been swindled. It all worked out for me and I actually got a great rate on the hotel, so maybe I should not complain. But I just want to leave this review here to encourage the GetARoom people to figure out how to fix this aspect of their service.

When we printed our confirmation, rate was over $ 100 from what we had understood was our total cost. Very misleading. Then we Tried calling the 800 number but no person would pick up phone. We tried calling 3 times.

The GetARoom agent on the phone was very helpful and took the time to make sure that all the information was correct. The hotel said they were sold out, so decided to call GetARoom who found the 2 rooms we needed. First time using them for a booking, will definitely again.
Made the res easily. Then last night was unable to cancel room on line. Will try again but otherwise seems like Ill have to call to do this. Also, no real description of the room or as many room choices as on other booking sites.

I will never use this again EVER! One person i had to finally say bye to because he wasnt understanding me and i couldnt understand him after 15 or so minutes. Called back and took another 25 minutes!

I made an error in booking a room through this website. I called within 5 mins to cancel the reservation. They refused to help even though I had called within 5 mins of making the mistaken reservation. Dont waste your time with this website. There are much better services out there for making reservations without the hidden fees. Simply put, this site will exploit mistakes for their benefit.

I contacted and booked Getaroom by mistake. I thought I was booking Hotel Romeo.No refund. This is a deceptive practice. I am considering contacting Massachusetts Attorney General"s consumer protection section. I had forgotten to amend my review. I spoke with a nice person who allayed my fears. She offered to allow me to cancel. But I am satisfied with the help she gave me and stayed with "Getaroom."

After posting our review, Getaroom has credited back the charge. Although it is unfortunate it took posting a negative review to accomplish what should have been done in the first place, we are grateful.
Honestly the worst experience possible trying to cancel a booked reservation. We attempted to cancel our reservation nearly a week prior to the stay due to a COVID diagnosis and they are simply unwilling to refund the payment. The hotel agreed the cancellation was fine yet this company effectively stole $300. Avoid at all costs!

Do not use this site to reserve a room. I reserved a room for 3 nights and never received confirmation. I had to find their number from my credit card company. The hotel won't assist since they didn't make the reservation. I called to modify my reservation and was told I could not due to a policy that was online, but never sent to me. I will be telling Marriott to stop accepting reservations from getaroom.
Awful experience with people are trained to not tell the truth. Mistakenly made a reservation and after five calls and over an hour on old, we have no resolution. I filed a complaint with my credit card company and emailed the company directly. I also called the hotel and they offered to refund the money and cancel the reservation, but said the GETAROOM representative would need to call.

Recently made reservation through this dishonest Company. I made online reservation for one night stay at $122.65. Immediately after entering my credit card information it confirmed my reservation for $169.68 I was stunned how could they add $47.03 (38%) in fees? I called and attempted to cancel due to these outrageous add ones but was told It was non-cancellable. Spread the word. Check the online complaints for this company. Beware!

Horrible! Accidentally booked the wrong day, through Kayak android application. Immediately called to change the date and was met with the worst customer service ever. No help, rude, would not do anything to help. Would not refund my credit card either. Would just blame me. Never use this site, do not use through Kayak, in fact don't use kayak... from now on will only ever call the hotel or go to the hotel website.
# R*******761 This company is an absolute scam! Thought I was booking through the hotel, but actually it was through Getaroom.com. I immediately cancelled the booking in 1 hour. Called several times to ask where my refund was, only to be told, " there is no refund" I am absolutely furious! I paid €7.458,19 for NOTHING! I got official letter from the hotel, the letter clearly confirm that the booking number R*******761 with Getaroom has been cancelled on 9 August and the hotel has never charged anything. So the hotel said I can claim a refund. Hotels should watch who they partner with. The Mining Exchange in Colorado Springs will be getting a phone call from me. They have a partnership with scam artists.( 27/Aug Update: out of good faith, they refunded my money.)

Reserved a room online about 2 hours one. Made sure to look for rooms with a pool and breakfast.
Booked the room.
Upon arrival there is no open pool, and no breakfast.
I tell them it would be nice if the website was update to allow people to know. I'm not in a hotel that doesn't have a pool with children.

I am so pissed at your company. I searched google to get the actual hotel and was misled because this site came up on google pretending to be the actual hotel. I then got charged more than 60% in extra "fees" over the list price, the excess charges were at least $100 more than booking with the hotel directly (I checked this on-line when I found out I had been misled). I consider this FRAUD! I called get a room back 1 minute after booking to cancel when I saw the excessive charges, and wasn't able to... this is truly poor and deceptive business practice.
