I booked a hotel to coincide with a jazz festival and my 32nd wedding anniversary. Unfortunate my nephew passed form cancer. The funeral is being held during the time I booked the vacation. The small print on the reservation said NO REFUND. I had no luck with Affirm who paid the amt in full. Finally, when i reached out to geta room, I was treated with compassion and respect and within 24 hours Affirm received a refund and I am no longer on the hook for this. They did what affirm did not do in a week in 24hrs, Affirm even asked me to send in a copy of the obituary! When I called the next day, they said they did not ask for it. GETAROOM solved my problem. Bait and switch reservation website. Horrible to non-existent customer service - they are trained and scripted to give you the run around. They always can not find your reservation, can not confirm your identity, will provide a new number for you to call next, and will promise to get back to you in 24-48 hours and never do. Wave goodbye to your $ if you book with them.
Do not GETAROOM, com! I thought i was at hyatt hotel/orlando airports site, which turned out to be getaroom. S they charged me $465. For what the hotel told me when i arrived was a $171. Room, and that they had never heard of such a price. The getaroom.com site showed all the cheaper room were booked, (that the hyatt said was simply not true) and only showed the most expensive room available, for $239. When i got my receipt i had been billed 465. For a room that was available thru the hotel itself for $171.
I called 3 times to getaroom.com help line, got put on hold for 30 minutes, and two rude, useless operators, one i asked if she could ask her friends to stop laughing and giggling in the background... AVOID THIS SITE AT ALL COSTS.
When I booked it took double the amount put, I did not read it properly, the taxes added etc. I called Getaroom straight away and a lady called Elia sorted it for me immediately. She was very professional and updated me with every step, from getting in touch with the hotel to my refund being processed. I appreciate it very much.

I tried to book a room for the night using their rate but when i got to the desk at the hotel they said i had no reservations. The site booked my room for over a week out and when i called to get things corrected they refused to change my date or give me a refund, they told me over the phone i was wrong and sol. So i will never use this site again. After i spent over an hour on the phone at the hotel trying to solve the issues, another 2 hours a different day and emails throughout i was offered to be discounted 10% because there was no way to refund me so i wrote the top half of my review. After all that they finally decided that a refund could be made which i do appreciate but it is not worth the hassle of having to deal with again. At least offer a discount or room for the next time to try and get me to come back

Their scam actually happened to me, they finally scammed the wrong person. I will be filling a class action lawsuit with Jeff Landry, AG State of Louisiana next week. May take a little while but there is more than hope all will get their stolen money back and more.

Following my review of 07/29, Customer Service Rep. Carrie called me. They gave me a full refund plus an additional 25% for my inconvenience. I appreciate that they at least tried to make things right, even though we still couldn't take our trip!

I put in the info to get a room in Pagosa Springs for 5 nights in Aug. Thru Trivago which evidently pairs with GetARoom. It listed a Clarion Inn at ******* Hwy 34, PAGOSA SPRINGS, CO. On my confirmation page after I completed the deal, and also showed a map of the supposed hotel in Pagosa Springs, (which turned out to be an empty field)! The next day I saw my confirmation e-mail, & it listed hotel information as Baymont by Windham, at ******* HWY 34 in Fort Morgan, CO. I Googled the hotel and address to find there was no such address or hotel in Pagosa. And of course when I called GetARoom support they could not explain how this could possibly happen, let alone get me a room in Pagosa for anywhere near the lesser price I had for my original booking. Totally F'd up my plans. If I could rate less than one star I would.
Worst customer service ever. I called a gentlemen who barely spoke English answered but couldn't understand me so hung up! They rip you off and then say there's nothing they can do about it. No one should ever use this site!
Buyer Beware! My husband, who I admit is not the most computer literate person, somehow booked through them thinking he was booking directly with the hotel website. This ended up costing us about $150 for... nothing.
They are actually "Consumer Club Inc", dba GetARoom.com and they have developed their own proprietary software that links to hotel websites. We called the hotel direct but somehow ended up at getroom.com. We were quoted Euro 218.00. For 2 persons for one night for a room in Wiesbaden, Germany. When checking my CC, to my surprise we were charged 370,26 Euro or ($431.06) Note the extra charges:

4. Recovery Taxes €29,81

Tried to book a hotel room, entered personal details, credit card number; transaction failed, money refunded. Contacted customer service, was assured no reservation have been processed.
So far so good.
2 days later, I checked my loyalty account for that hotel's chain: found a new res. Placed on by behalf by a unknown OTA. Glad I checked, otherwise I would be billed as a no-show...
Again contacted getaroom: they say the OTA was able to capture a reservation despite it seemingly failed... How secure is this?

Strong Bleach scent and foam build up. Unbalanced water can cause your hot tub water to go green, give it a bad smell, and can even cause foamy hot tub water. Test your hot tub water weekly to make sure the alkalinity, pH and sanitizer levels are where they should be.
This is a must: Make signs Visible Posted with Showering before soaking in your hot tub will help prevent foaming. You'll notice at public pools and hot tubs they generally will have signs saying please shower before entering. Showering before using your hot tub means you won't bring in anything off the body such as dirt, sweat, lotions, deodorants, colognes, perfumes and oils.

Though there were many compilcations in getting my reservations straight, we had great rooms at price I could manage on a tight budget.

I've used your service two times and both times were unsatisfactory. This time I specifically requested a room with 2 double beds. My friend and I are 2 unrelated ladies and have no desire to share a bed. I could not understand most of what Carlos told me. He needs to slow his speech.
May 31 - June 1, I stayed in the Quality Inn in Clarksville TN to attend my younger brother's funeral. There was at least 15 people from our family staying at that motel. Instead of charging me the $192 they charged my credit card $312.95... in spite of them giving me a receipt for the $192.

These are totally con artists. My wife canceled her booking within 24 hours of making the booking, one month before the reservation date. They kept everything including the $69 of taxes. When I called today they said she was a no-show and therefore there would be no refund. Plus if you look at their testimonials on their website all about their wonderful service, you can't leave a testimonial though!
The booking process was very standard and straight forward, however the site should be giving you more detailed information about the property you are reserving.
I have, since the booking, found out that the hotel I plan on staying in has been closed since the September earthquake in Mexico City.
Currently the hotel is not taking phone calls...
We found out they have a sister property who has said the hotel should re-open at the end of March... since our reservation is for beginning April, it would be nice if we were given a heads up in case we end up having to look for an alternative at the last minute...
Absolutely awful customer service. Tried to book a room and when I hit enter, it said System error, please call or try your reservation again later. I waited a bit, tried again. Closed the browser and started from scratch, still got an error message. I didnt want to call, defeats the purpose of booking online! So I gave up and booked thru AAA for a little more. Now I look at my credit card and its been charged 4 times. Now spent an hour on the phone trying to get this worked out. Customer service rep was rude, after explaining the situation he asked what the reservation number was?- again repeated it NEVER went thru. He then argued with me that I must have hit enter multiple times- I said yes I did, the error message said try again!
At my buddy's suggestion, I booked a 3-night stay with Getaroom.com about two months ago. At first I was a little hesitant to do so because I wasn't all that familiar with the company. But through the company's Call Center I managed to find a cheaper rate (not earth-shaking cheaper, but any little bit helps) than those being advertised on three travel sites I looked up. We were dead set on booking at Hilton Atlanta, and Getaroom.com gave us the best deal overall.
Let's face it, folks. No company is perfect. I've also used Expedia, Priceline, and the like. I've had good and not-so-good experiences with all of them (especially when it comes to customer service!). I've only used Getaroom.com once, so I have nothing negative to say about them so far. But judging from that one experience, this company isn't as bad as others make it out to be, and I do plan to use them for hotel reservations in the near future. So, my only advice is: Don't knock it till you've tried it.
I have had nothing but problems. Screwed up my booking, my name, charged me wrong, hung up on me, I've had to call 5 6 times. Pretty crazy to me. I'm a business owner and I would do the right thing not act like it doesn't matter. This is a business trip that I'm going on. How about offering a discount or free room for all of the hassle. Hopefully a couple hundred dollars wouldn't hurt you guys too much. I will definitely go out of my way to make sure I never use your site again. Be aware of this "xxhotel.guestreservations.co" website. They are from "getaroom" agent, which mislead you and charge huge amount of so call "tax recovery charges & service fees" it made your cost for staying at least 30% higher then what it should be. Be alert! They speak like the reservation dept of that hotel, but not!

I am very disappointed in this website! Getaroom.com almost attempted to imitate the Hyatt website and then charged me much more in fees than the actual Hyatt website would have! OVER $80 in hotel fees is completely RIDICULOUS - save yourself the trouble and money and just book through the hotels direct website! Besides, once you realize that they have overcharged you, you won't be able to get a hold of their customer service line! Truly one of the worst experiences I have ever had while booking a hotel and we travel quite often!

First of all, I didn't even realize I was dealing with an outside company to make my reservation, so was very surprised to see a strange fee attached to my receipt that amounted to about an extra 3-nights of stay at the hotel I booked! Yes, almost $152 extra for the booking! "Tax recovery and service fees" it says, which is quite a clever scam, indeed. On top of this, we did not even get an accessible room with bathroom grab bars as was promised. Overall, feeling very disappointed and cheated by this experience. At least I realize I'm not the only one scammed... but, as you might imagine, I sure would like to "recover" my excess payment!

Was perfect in making an 11 day reservation. Unfortunately relatives had to cancel the wedding. Getaroom handled cancellation incredibly -- spoke with Dyle on 4/26/22 at 7:12 AM. He was excellent. My experience is fairly typical. Initially I thought I was booking via the hotel as getaroom.com had replicated the hotel's website. A deliberate deception I believe. I was charged over £187 in obscure taxes. A fee not mentioned until after checkout. After complaining I was refunded £93 but left over £90 out of pocket.
If you too have been scammed by this company I have a few recommendations. Firstly, be philosophical. Sometimes useful lessons are learnt the hard way. Secondly, leave an accurate and honest review on Trustpilot/ Sitejabber etc. Thirdly, if you are an UK resident get in touch with the CMA. They are trying to get hotel booking websites to comply with ethical guidelines in order to protect consumer rights. This may be the best way to get this company shutdown.

Update 2: Received refund of charges that were in excess of the state and local taxes. But only after I used this website to place a 1 star review. Did not get anywhere when placing a call to the getaroom customer service line. Except nice music on hold. Could have saved myself time and effort if I took the time to make sure I was making a reservation on the hotel's website or by calling the hotel directly. Initial Review: Booked a room with this site that appeared to be a Hyatt website. After making the booking saw taxes and fees were out of line with Texas tax rates. After researching a bit I found the site I booked with and placed a call to Getaroom customer service to get an explanation. After being on hold for quite some time I did not get an agent to pick up the phone. While trying to cancel on the website saw there was a no cancellation statement. Any major hotel chain I've used offers cancellation within 24 hours of the reservation. Unless I hear from Getaroom I will protest charges with my credit card bank and submit additional one star reviews on other sites.
Update 1: On the positive side I got immediate attention from the Sitejabber negative review. I will be receiving a partial refund in accordance with what I requested of Carrie from getaroom customer service. The latest email states I should see the refund on credit card in 3-5 days. When that shows up on my credit card I will up the rating from 1 to 3 stars for the prompt response to my Sitejabber review. In the future I will be more careful to check that I am booking directly with the hotel. Third party hotel reservations systems sometimes are difficult to distinguish from the hotel site if you aren't carefully looking at the site details.
Led us to believe we were directly dealing with Holiday Inn Express in Lebec California. Confirmation from getaroom included an extra $54.85 for "Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees", on a room costing $139.66. Even the $139.66 was significantly inflated from what the hotel would have charged for a direct reservation. Buyer beware, don't deal with getaroom.

I thought I was on the Hilton Buenos Aires site, offered a price with a buy now button but Invoice came through at 3x more. Including getarooms taxes and charges which were 33% at $166.
