Their scam actually happened to me, they finally scammed the wrong person. I will be filling a class action lawsuit with Jeff Landry, AG State of Louisiana next week. May take a little while but there is more than hope all will get their stolen money back and more.
My husband made a reservation and made a mistake. Alos 5 minutes of having made the reservation called direct Holiday Inn of Miami Bayside to cancel and it is funny because they told him that to cancel it he had to have called 48 hours before, as if he had just made the reservation anyway I wrote to the corporation and according to them they returned the money to getaroom, but these people are going to keep the money for them because they are applying the rule of cancelarion so the hotel return without any problem and getaroom they want to keep my money people very careful with these people if you make a mistake you will know that you have lost your money

I booked with getaroom and wanted to change the reservation within 15 minutes because i thought i was booking direct with the hotel. They told me there is no refund - even after such a short amount of time. Then I asked to keep the reservation so I wouldn't loose out on the money. They wouldn't keep the reservation. So they kept my $450 and i got nothing. I have filed with the attorney General due to illegal policies.
I did get a followup with getaroom and they refunded my money.

I called the reservation number thinking I was calling the hotel direct. Not realizing until after I booked and received my email confirmation that I used a 3rd party and paid much more than I would've booking direct.
I went to check into said hotel only to find that they didn't charge the resort fee and I had to pay additional $71. The front desk clerk advised how cheap the walk up price was less than what I paid.
**Getaroom update 11/23/22 - I did get a partial refund with prompt response to my issues. Thank you for the follow up and understanding. Made it a little less painful.

When I booked it took double the amount put, I did not read it properly, the taxes added etc. I called Getaroom straight away and a lady called Elia sorted it for me immediately. She was very professional and updated me with every step, from getting in touch with the hotel to my refund being processed. I appreciate it very much.

Charged me $2,313.41 cancellation fee and I cancelled within 5 minutes. I eventually got my money back, but Gateroom's business practices are criminal.

First, at no point did I know that I was on a 3rd party website. They trick you as appearing as the website for whatever hotel you look up. From the many negative reviews I have read, I am one of MANY that have been duped. They should NOT be legally allowed to advertise a rate of $159 a night for 2 night and then charge an extra $157 in taxes. These extra fees do not show up until after booking. How are tgese business practices legal? I booked a room for the Tiger Hotel in Columbia, Missouri tonight and was shocked to see the final price, AFTER I was charged $475 total. I canceled reservation and was then told no refunds. I called the hotel directly and they informed me I must have booked through a 3rd party website, as they only charge $136 a night. I looked at my confirmation, and sure enough, it was from GETAROOM.COM. I called their customer service number and the agent apologized but said nothing could be done. THIS IS A SCAM COMPANY! I've booked hotel rooms through 3rd party companies like Hotels.com, Booking.com, Hotwire.com, Expedia, etc, but I always knew I was on their website. This company, at no time, informs you that you're NOT on the hotel's website.
I am a widowed mom of 4 with health problems trying to take my daughter on a college visit and this company has scammed me out of almost $500. I will complain to the Texas Attorney General and leave reviews on every travel website.

A room was booked on this site for what should have been 186.00 but an additional 75.00 was added at check out. I should have known better when Chase texted me asking if it was me and declined the charges at first until I was stupid enough to let them know yes it was me. The called to cancel the reservation within 3 minutes of it being made and was told it was a NON refundable purchase. And the info for that was posted- yes it sure was posted I could receive a full refund if I purchased the room 2 days ago. What a joke

I booked a room and immediately noticed I had made a mistake. I cancelled the room within minutes and called the customer service. They Initially told me it was non refundable. They did have a customer service representative reach out to me and worked with me on helping me with a refund

Worst company ever
Worst company ever! Gave us wrong address for hotel, didn't get to stay, hotel refunded us to getaroom and they kept the money. Total scam! Every time I call get told something different. I disputed charge through my bank and even though the hotel gave them the money, they still disputed it. Do. Not do business with these crooks!

If I could give no stars I would. I booked what I thought was a room on the holiday Inn website (It was Getaroom.com), priced at £150 only when I paid it showed £245! On confirmation, So I panicked and cancelled it as I didnt have that money to spend and it was far more than I had thought I was booking. Then the problems started as I see Non refundable!... I quickly emailed the company to explain what I had done (I couldn't call as its an american phone number, and im UK)
It has taken them 8 days to even respond to me, I have been told that I can not be refunded so im £250 out of pocket. I then emailed back and asked can it at least be re instated as I dont want to be left with nothing!. And well the response was they can not reinstate it! So im left with no room booked and £250 out of pocket.
AVOID COMPANY AS THEY SCAM YOU OUT OF MONEY!

My daughter booked a room for me on Aug. 10 and received an error message (indicating the reservation did not go through), I believed it was due to the fact that she used her contact info (email and phone#) with my Credit card so we tried again with my contact info and the reservation was confirmed. Unfortunately, a second confirmation (indicating a double booking) showed up while I was on the road. I spoke with the desk clerk when I checked in and explained the error, I thought it had been resolved. Two charges showed up on my Credit Card statement so I disputed the 2nd charge. It took awhile but Getaroom's customer service was willing to look at this again and did issue a refund for the 2nd charge. If you use this site for a reservation be sure to read the no refund policy.

Went through Hilton site to cancel and reschedule a room. Cancellation worked out well but when I pressed reschedule, somehow I got transferred to getaroom website. As soon as I noticed that I hit cancel. Now I am being told that it is non refundable even though Hilton is telling me that they never received a request for the new room. I am reporting a fraud to American Express since getaroom is telling me that they can't help me. Ironically they want me to add my reservation number below THERE IS NO RESERVATION, NEVER WAS ONE ACCORDING TO HOMEWOOD SUITES BY HILTON!

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
