I booked a hotel to coincide with a jazz festival and my 32nd wedding anniversary. Unfortunate my nephew passed form cancer. The funeral is being held during the time I booked the vacation. The small print on the reservation said NO REFUND. I had no luck with Affirm who paid the amt in full. Finally, when i reached out to geta room, I was treated with compassion and respect and within 24 hours Affirm received a refund and I am no longer on the hook for this. They did what affirm did not do in a week in 24hrs, Affirm even asked me to send in a copy of the obituary! When I called the next day, they said they did not ask for it. GETAROOM solved my problem. Bait and switch reservation website. Horrible to non-existent customer service - they are trained and scripted to give you the run around. They always can not find your reservation, can not confirm your identity, will provide a new number for you to call next, and will promise to get back to you in 24-48 hours and never do. Wave goodbye to your $ if you book with them.
I was talking to a lady who had no idea what she was doing. She gave me three different rates, and a quote of 312.00 dollars for 2 nites lodging in harvey n. D. i cancelled this reservation, called the hotel directly and got a rate of $89.00 a nite for a total of $199.92. That is almost $120.00 cheaper. Willnever use you again

Booked a room under false pretenses, notice same day because they took the money out of my account for a stay a year from now. The hotel was willing to work with me, but this get a room site wants to keep my money if I cancel. Once again noticed sameday tried to fix it and they refused but offered to keep my money.

Just got stuck with a bill for a room I did not use. Husband cancelled at the hotel, which did not advise us of the third party booking partner and the need to contact them directly. Unhappy with the lack of communication and at paying an unnecessary bill.
Very unsatisfied with my service! My credit card was charged more than expected. I have the copy of my original receipt with the total cost including taxes and fees, but GetARoom charged me more on my credit card, with no explanation. I have contacted customer service and am getting no responses! Do not book through this website. They are sketchy and impossible to talk to!

I discovered GetARoom by accident when using TripAdvisor. GetARoom had a MUCH lower rate than Expedia or Hotels.com. Going to the deal was easy as was the booking. It took one a minute or two to confirm and pay for the hotel

I had the pleasure of speaking with Jeremy W. He helped me book a room at one hotel. After I researched the hotel I didn't think it would be the hotel for me. I called Jeremy back to cancel my reservation, he was very kind. Jeremy took the time to help me find a hotel that would best fit the needs of my family. I am happy to say that, being my first time using this website it was a great experience. I will use it again!
As others have stated, Getaroom charges a fee for booking a room. We did a 3 night stay at the Homewood Suites in Glastonbury, CT, the Hotel charge was $396 while Getaroom charged $546, that's $150 just for using their booking service. On top of that there was no availability to cancel the reservation. Their website is very deceiving as you believe you are booking directly with the Hotel. DO NOT USE!
Only thing I didn't realize that the payment for the room would cone out rgt. Then. I usually give the credit card number but they don't actually take the money. I'm on a fixed incone so I was glad I had enough to pay ahead of tine.
Do not use get a room to make a hotel motel reservation. They added about $200 in fees and charges to my room charges at a Holiday inn in Glendale Arizona. They refuse to give me a copy of the final bill after about 12 phone calls. Get a room caveat emptor

If you go to a hotel site and it says "booked call this number", do not call. They prend to be associated with the hotel but they will charge you twice the amount which they call "Tax recovery charges & service fees". If your reservation begins with an R you will never get a refund and they will blatantly say "if you dispute it with your credit card our office will have to issue the credit"
My hotel gave me a refund through get a room. I have yet to receive it. I was passed from operator to operator, and they all acted like they don't speak English. It is 2 months later and no refund yet. I am so disappointed and disappointed. I sent emails also with no response.

I spent time with the gentleman to set up the room for Sunday evening, Sept. 9. Unfortunately, when I read the confirmation he sent, I noticed that the date was listed as Sept, 2. Fortunately, when I called back, the young lady who answered was able to make the corrections.
I have contacted Get a room and after much explaining I was able to resolve my issues and why I felt that I should receive the full refund on my reservation. They did refund the full purchase price and I am thankful for that. I should not have had to go to the lengths that I did but in the end it was worth it because I did receive my payment returned. Thank you to get a room customer complaint department for their considerate assistance and the prompt return reservation money.
Tip for consumers:
Just make sure you know exactly who you are dealing with and if calling to make a reservation make sure you let them know that you will be recording the transaction to make sure everything is correct. Also make sure you get the name of the person/people you are speaking to and the day and time of the transaction. You should do this with any company where you do business over the phone. Make sure you get a breakdown of the total cost and that you are satisfied with the fees.

I was told I'd get a full refund before booking the room. When I cancelled I was told I'd get a partial refund. In the end the billed my credit card for the full amount. In the end they did refund my full purchase price and I am grateful to them for that and that is the reason i upgraded to 3 stars. They were willing to correct the mistake they made and I have respect for that.

$364 - undisclosed amount added for taxes and "fees" when card was charged
$1,142 - total charged to card (hotel charges parking $21/night on top of this)
I can email you the bill if you think this is too outrageous to be true.
There is no supporting detail for taxes and fees and the amounts are not mentioned when you book. Only that you agree to pay them.
I called but they wouldn't cancel. Offered a small refund amount because they know they are guilty and I was angry. Haven't seen the refund. If you like the feeling of being cheated and overpaying you have found the right company.

Dont ever use this site. I booked a non-refundable room for my stay in Paris, my card was charged and I received a confirmation but that meant nothing. Weeks later I received an e-mail that my my reservation was being cancelled because the site posted the wrong rate. This is a complete fraud. Dont ever use this site.
Told your first associate I wanted to book in Mississippi. He read back my confirmation and I thought I heard Michigan, so I asked about it he said "No I have you in Mississippi". When I got my email confirmation it WAS Michigan! Called back to cancel and re-book and talked to another associate. She looked it up and said, "No, he has you in Mississippi". I told her Mi. Is the abbreviation for Michigan, Mississippi is Ms. She said,"Well I didn't know, I'm not from America". So my first payment was $147 which I won't get back for three to five days. Very disappointing experience!

Stay away from this scam! We looked up Holiday Inn for reservations and called the number listed. We were never informed that they were a third party site that sold reservations at hotels at prices higher than advertised on the Holiday Inn site.
They lied and said the hotel we wanted was full. They recommended another hotel in the area and said it had an indoor pool, which it didn't. They booked us the most expensive room at their recommended hotel. When we got off the road, We called the original hotel and found they had plenty of rooms. When we called them to disputed the charges. They " opened up a ticket" and were going to call us right back. Still waiting for a call...
I booked a hotel in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, for 4 nights through getaroom.com. After I booked I read the reviews here and was terrified. The majority of the problems I saw that worried me were 1) The hotel didn't receive the booking, 2) The booking was not all-inclusive even though the web site said it was, and 3) At check-in time it was found that the room hadn't been paid for as the credit card getaroom used had been declined and the customer had to spend an hour on the phone straightening it out. I'm happy to say I experienced NONE of these issues. After reading the reviews, I called the hotel directly to confirm that they had the booking. They did. I asked them to confirm if it was all-inclusive for me, my wife, and my daughter. It was. Upon arriving at the hotel I checked in without any issues regarding the payment. Upon leaving I checked out without any added fees. A flawless experience. Just wanted to give my positive review since I saw so many negative ones!
I had an awful experience with GETAROOM.COM 4 days ago. I had a confirmed reservation in August and when I went to the hotel they could not find my reservation and I have to pay again even I have already paid it. I tried to get in touch, 10 minutes on the phone they did not do anything. Then they send me an email that they will call to the hotel, nothing have been done. The manager of the hotel has been told me, that they do not have a contract with getaroom.com. It was a third party company which I have never used. It was a nightmare. Stay away of Getaroom.com...

They charged enormous fees on top of the hotel booking and did not send a receipt until I called asking about the discrepancy in amounts charged to my credit card. The fees were 38% over the hotel charge making my stay twice as much as the going rate for the hotel. Customer service said there was nothing they could do and if I canceled nothing would refunded... STAY AWAY!

Thought I got a great deal on hotel only to have large tax of 70 plus dollars. Checked out hotel website and was cheaper by 70 dollars. Booked room and canceled original booked room with in 1 day. Only few rooms left in smaller town d/t hockey and wrestling tournament on same day that's why I did not cancel first then re-book. Either way wouldn't have worked would have still would have been charged. The count down clock even said I had 1 hour left to cancel! Several attempts made to find number and emails to get refund. All numbers were automated lines and dead end. No return emails. Disputed with credit card and now Get a Room refuses to return refund even though originally posted cancel up to 24 hour prior to date of stay originally when clicking on room! So had 2 charges and only one room. Still have yet to get to talk to a person or have an email from company. Note to all readers: HOTEL WEB SITE ONLY!

I would not book with you ever again and I told Trip Advisor the same. You could have handled my request in the first phone call but you refused. I had to get Trip Advisor to intervene. Twice. It was so simple. I wanted to add a night to my trip. Simple but not for you. I was first told to cancel my booking and book again but the problem with that was the price had increased considerably. Terrible Service. You should find out who took my calls and retrain them. Trip Advisor was great but like I told them if I see you name as the vendor I would not book.
When I attempted to reserve a room, somehow the dates changed that I was requesting, giving me a nonrefundable room on a date I did not want. I called Get room customer service group and they were very professional and polite in working to resolve my issue. I got my refund plus they set up the correct reservation. Thanks.
