I booked a hotel to coincide with a jazz festival and my 32nd wedding anniversary. Unfortunate my nephew passed form cancer. The funeral is being held during the time I booked the vacation. The small print on the reservation said NO REFUND. I had no luck with Affirm who paid the amt in full. Finally, when i reached out to geta room, I was treated with compassion and respect and within 24 hours Affirm received a refund and I am no longer on the hook for this. They did what affirm did not do in a week in 24hrs, Affirm even asked me to send in a copy of the obituary! When I called the next day, they said they did not ask for it. GETAROOM solved my problem. Bait and switch reservation website. Horrible to non-existent customer service - they are trained and scripted to give you the run around. They always can not find your reservation, can not confirm your identity, will provide a new number for you to call next, and will promise to get back to you in 24-48 hours and never do. Wave goodbye to your $ if you book with them.
Ppl kept walking in Our room and knocking on our door other than that it was ok, i dont see how a 2 queen suite is smaller than anything ivd ever seen in my life its me and my wife y they couldnt give us a king suite like i orignally ordered.
My initial review was one star due to the time and aggravation it was taking to obtain my refund. Since then I did receive a full refund so I have upgraded my review to a 3 star. My advice is keep all correspondence with getaroom and use a major credit card as both of those will help you obtain a refund. The refund process took longer than it should but in the end the refund was obtained. I cancelled my reservation with getaroom and went with a different site but at the same hotel. So the hotel room was fine but the refund process needs effort.
I have just booked a hotel on their site to find out after they took my money they charged me £30 in taxes. I am worried now the whole site is a scam. Trying to contact the hotel to see if they have my booking and asking the site for my taxes money back!

I was quoted a price inclusive of fees at $975. The total charge was $1169. 52. I specifically asked if the $975 was the entire charge and assured that it was the correct total. I tried to change it but was told i could get a discount? I don't want a discount. I want me money back for your illegal actions. Has this been a class action yet?

They charged 98 dollars for a service fee. Claims that they pay for resort fees etc. Hilton hotels told me that they have nothing to do with this fee. They just lie and rip you off for 98 dollars for service fees. Do not use this crooks.The room was$ 168.00 service fee from cci 98.00. Hotel received non of this service fee. Total scam. Do not use these thiefs.

They portray themselves to be the actual hotel. Our flights were cancelled and we had to stay overnight for our next flight. I was told I was getting a 20% discount and the additional fees were 30% more than price quoted. When I questioned this, she was very rude and said there were very few rooms available and I needed to book now. I had no idea I wasn't speaking to the actual hotel. Very misleading. When looking at my bill. I was charged a higher price for the room, cleaning fees, resort fees and an additional fee for them booking. I feel totally ripped off. Be very careful about calling this site and booking through them.

I was redirected from TripAdvisor to getaroom, so I was a bit worried. I booked my hotel, agreed to the $25 additional charge for services for a two night stay in a hotel in Granada Spain. After reading some reviews I was concerned so called hotel to verify my reservations. They have my reservations for correct dates with requested extras.

You could hear EVERYTHING the neighbors were doing... including making whoopy at 2:30am. Very distressing if you're trying to rest up before an early funeral. Pretty expensive for what you actually get.
GetARoom rep lied to me and said he was with Best Western. They then billed my card for more than what was agreed and refused to cancel and refund my payment. I googled Best Weston Canon City to book a hotel reservation. I called the number that appeared. When I called that number, I asked if I was calling Best Western correctly, the representative said "yes". Later in the call, I asked again if I was speaking with Best Western and not a third party booking company and the representative said "yes". We agreed on a reservation and price based on a wedding booking reservation room rate. The total with taxes was $245.75. I was then charged over $330. When I called the hotel to fix the billing error, I was told that the reservations were not made through them but through a third party called "GetARoom". I called GetARoom, they apologized for the misrepresentation and over-billing but refused to give me a refund. Left me on hold for 54 minutes... so far.

Do Not Use this company. I travel for work and as I thought I was booking directly with the hotel chain, I booked with these (thieves). My job completed early and I checked out early and they would not would not refund my money. They took my money the hotel chain itself returned Co workers money but because I was tricked into using this company I had to deal with them. They lied to me for 2 days then sent out a generic email that was of no use. They basically stole the reservation and stole my money.Do Not, Do Not use them. Worst experience ever. Their cancelation deadline is the day after you make your reservation so that is useless and designed to take customers money.
We made reservations on Dec 29 for a room THAT NIGHT on the beach in Jamaica. 5 hours later when we arrived at the hotel - there was no room.
We booked through Kayak & didn't realize it was going to be "serviced" by Getaroom until after the transaction.
Customer service phone line wasn't available from Jamaica, Getaroom refused to help until the charge went from Pending to officially charged & then suggested that I wait 4 business days (yes, another week!) for a reply.
I have now filed dispute with my CC company to get the refund.
Reservation was made, days later recieved a call from get a room wanting additional monies for the reservation made after thier site made statements that rooms with refrigerators were available with a request, which was made at time of reservation. They made no effort to correct thier error. I had to contact hotel direct to work it out.
While looking for a room while crossing these United States. I thought was on the website Kayak but turns out it moved me to a website called rent a room. I picked a motel room that we had been very satisfied across the US. I put in Henrietta, Oklahoma. Went through all the steps to request a certain room and then pay for it with a credit card. Not till I tap that last button did I realize that it was Henrietta, New York. Then it was impossible for me to undo what I had done. It took 5 trys to get the refund.

The phone-service is not a service, but just very annoying. An on-line-service for changing reservations would be so nice. Instead of waiting on the phone, talking to different people, who is talking VERY fast and in a not very understandable English, reading LONG condition-facts out loud.

I booked a room with this site. When I called I specifically asked if I could leave my vehicle at hotel. They assured me I could and that it came with the hotel fee. When I got to hotel they said they don't except cars to stay when you reserve with this site.

I had heard complaints about using getaroom so I wanted to share my experience. Booking was easy, but the main issues I had heard were related to the hotel having the booking and dealing with getaroom customer service. I booked the room on a Saturday, checked with the hotel directly on Sunday and the booking was not yet on their records. I sent an email to getaroom and heard back Monday. Very pleasant note, explained the situation, I responded by saying I was not comfortable with a long delay in having the hotel show the booking, and the rep got back to me within an hour saying they had spoken to the hotel and the booking was in their system.
I was very pleased with my experience and did not have any of the troubles others have mentioned.
I have cancelled two different reservations from this company. They give me the run around about how they are processing it, yet they still have not issued a refund. In one instance, the hotel agreed to the refund. In the pother instance, the dates were simply moved, yet the getaroom is charging me for two separate rooms. I would try to avoid this booking service, at all costs. They are not reputable.

I thought I was booking a rook directly through the hotel website. As I was finishing my reservation I was asked to type in a code that was texted to me, I X'd out of the code prompt after seeing the full price and was charged anyway. I tried to call and cancel and was told no refund despite being 2 month's out because it is the hotel's policy. I called the hotel and they confirmed that is incorrect. I later received an email from the Getaroom.com service rep that came from a different URL that suspiciously looked like it came from a Priceline URL. I was wrongfully charged, lied to, and then received a very suspicious email from their service rep.

Horrible - I travel for my job... around 40 weeks a year and stay at various motels... this was the worst experience ever in making a reservation. The process was not streamlined for the ease of the customer. I had to review the location, the town, the motel, the type of room and the address of the motel multiple times, with the person making my reservation... it was like she had no clue what I was even talking about. Just kept asking the same questions over and over... each time I thought we were about at the end of the nightmare, she would read a disclaimer... I kept saying I understand... then she would read the disclaimer again. Never again!

I was not pleased when before reservation was complete, I was informed that the reservation was
No longer able to be cancelled. We were also not happy with the room. The a/c was loud and not efficient. The TV did not work. Although the desk clerk very kindly brought a remote that gave us a station, we soon discovered it could not be turned off.
The price match guarantee is completely bogus. I called and the agent told me she did not have access to the internet and the website I was quoting was not in her system. I asked to price match from their very own website and she told me she couldnt see the prices from the sales side. This makes absolutely no sense. I cancelled my reservation and they charged me 25 bucks for their service. Unbelievable.
I have been fighting with this company to get my refund back for over 90 days! Its actually been over 4 months! They have scammed me out if over $2500 fir a room i never booked i never slept in and i never accepted to pay for. They have stolen my credit card information and wrongly booked a random room. Do Not tryst this scam of a company they have a big lawsuit coming for them for sketchy business practices!
Pictures of them going around and around saying they are going to give a refund then turning around and saying nonsense about 90 days thats not even true. The bank has closed the claim and its been over 4 months.

I went to the hotels website to book a reservation and had no indication I was redirected to this website. Was required to pay in advance, but never received anything confirming rates or fees. I went through the hotel for everything and did not realize I had went through this website until checkout. The website did not receive any of the changes made in booking with the hotel and I was charged for a full stay even though I cancelled the last few days with the hotel. The website refused to refund stating I made a reservation of my own accord.

I recently made a booking with a hotel in Edinburgh. I thought I was booking direct with the hotel, but as I found out later this was not the case. I was enticed by what appeared to be a cheaper rate. However when the confirmation came through I found that I had been charged $1400 for two nights accommodation! This was around $500 per night plus an additional $500 in tax recovery charges and service fees. This seems outrageous and I feel as though I've been scammed. I contacted the Hotel immediately by email and later by phone and was told that that that there was nothing that they could do to help me. I feel the booking process was not clear. Please be aware everyone.
