I booked a hotel to coincide with a jazz festival and my 32nd wedding anniversary. Unfortunate my nephew passed form cancer. The funeral is being held during the time I booked the vacation. The small print on the reservation said NO REFUND. I had no luck with Affirm who paid the amt in full. Finally, when i reached out to geta room, I was treated with compassion and respect and within 24 hours Affirm received a refund and I am no longer on the hook for this. They did what affirm did not do in a week in 24hrs, Affirm even asked me to send in a copy of the obituary! When I called the next day, they said they did not ask for it. GETAROOM solved my problem. Bait and switch reservation website. Horrible to non-existent customer service - they are trained and scripted to give you the run around. They always can not find your reservation, can not confirm your identity, will provide a new number for you to call next, and will promise to get back to you in 24-48 hours and never do. Wave goodbye to your $ if you book with them.
Get a room was fine. However, this hotel charged extra fees for something we did not use, request, or want. The service at the hotel was horrible due to complete lack of training of employees. I would recommend saving your money and going somewhere else.
Never heard of GetARoom until Kayak showed their price. Clicked through and received a link to confusing room choices titled 2 bed rooms having only 1 bed (!) Clicked for Support which promised a few minutes wait but did not reply for 12 hours and then did not answer my question without further interaction. Keep getting unwanted follow up communication.

Following my review on this site Getaroom contacted me and refunded the taxes charged this taking my cost back to close what I was quoted. Oh the power of Social Media. I am happy with this outcome. I booked a room via this company stupidly thinking I was booking the hotel directly. The quote was excellent so I decided to go ahead. Unfortunately the amount taken out of my account was double what was quoted. I rang the company to cancel and the call mysteriously dropped out four times. I was then told that the wait for customer care who could process the claim was at least 14 hours. At best this company operates sharp practices and at worst downright theft. I would give zero stars if I could.

I booked this on my mobile. It was not clear that this was a third party site. Nowhere was getaroom mentioned I only found out the name when I asked the hotel on arrival. Sharp practice I believe
I did not receive my email confirmation until the next afternoon. Thinking I might not have hit "submit" I booked with another site and now getaroom.com won't work with me and provide any refund since I went through my cc company for a dispute (that was denied) No calls, no emails, just lame facebook instant messages. "sorry, we cant help" type stuff. Stick to the good sites (expedia.com, booking.com, travelocity.com etc) that you KNOW will provide you with peace of mind when booking hotels.
I initially contacted them back in April to cancel a hotel reservation due to the pandemic. They cancelled it and said they were working on getting the cancellation fees waived... still waiting for a response after the initial response. It was supposed to be 7 days... going on 7 WEEKS!
They say that they've tried to contact you, which is lies. No messages on either phone or calls logged. Finally heard from customer service but refund will take another 3-5 business days to process. If I paid my bills like this, the bill collectors would be at my door.

Biggest cluster f××k ever. Hacked my account and charged me for a room I paid for in person. Hung up on me everytime I tried calling 1 800 number total scammers. More expensive than the actual hotel reservation.

First they charged me in US dollars for a room booked in Canada and refused to reimburse anything. Credit card company can do nothing. Ended up costing me $800 more than i was told i would pay. Not recommended booking with this scammer company!
Booked two rooms. Was mislead both times about hotel room having two bedrooms. Confirmation on one of the reservations even stated it. Cancelled both and will never book with you again. Each reservation was $2,000 plus. If I could give zero stars I would.

Don't use this company. They will book you into rooms that are supposed to have certain amenities that cost extra but when you get to the hotel those extras you paid for don't exist. Then they refuse to adjust your rate! We got ripped off $50.00 per night on a week ling stay.
I've called 5 times and filed 3 online inquiries about this and they refuse to call us back!

Tried booking a room directly with Hyatt Regency San Antonio. Ending up booking a room through a third party but did not know it at all. I called 48 hours in advance to just modify my room date and they would not make any exceptions to move the date because they told me I was 5 hours late in calling them. Be cautious here.
UPDATE: Monday, May 23,2022: Getaroom.com did email me and refunded my money as a one-time exception. Thank you very much for making this refund happen as my business plans changed last minute.

They spoof hotel websites. You are not even aware you used a third party. Very deceptive and almost criminal. They have responded to my complaint and partially compensated me. However, I feel that their business practices need improvements.

Horrible service. Stole nearly $400 from me. Claimed that their agreed upon rate with the hotel was much higher than the actual hotel rate. Offered a measly 10% refund, which is about $100. Never using this website again.

Booked two rooms both with double beds through Getaroom. I called the hotel to discuss a different matter and when they looked up my reservation, they informed me that I was booked for King beds in each room. Should be an easy fix right? Wrong! I've called numerous times to be hung up on twice. I had to submit an online request to try and get this resolved and it's still not. I have people flying in from overseas and these people can't even begin to help. I never use third party sited because of this and now I'm panicking.

Terrible! Beware! Will take your money! I booked a $118.24 room online at hotels website. Getaroom hijacked my booking. Afterwards sent me a non-refundable confirmation on my $118.24 Holiday Inn room at $167.14... included state tax (ok) plus $39.15 (33%) for other taxes. How low can you go. Where I come from this is called "non-disclosure, theft, dishonesty, crooked". After reading this, if you become associated with Getaway, you are nuts. Beware! Beware! Beware!

A few months ago, my friend and I planned a weekend getaway to San Fran and sought last minute deals on hotel rooms. We found a deal for under $100 on Kayak, which in turn redirected us to the getaroom site. After seeing the $25 rebate graphic and other info on unpublished rates, we figured we could get a better deal over the phone -- and that we did.
The call center agent was friendly and answered all our questions. I have no complaints and overall I enjoyed booking through them. It's too bad that others who have reviewed the company before me have experienced otherwise.
I used the web and got a great price on a room in LA. There were not issue with that reservation. I then tried the number to call to get an even lower price. I was told I would save $25 off the published rate, which as actually the same rate offered directly by the hotel. I booked. No $25. I have called several times to complain but gave up as I was so annoyed. It felt like fraud. I haven't yet stayed using this reservation. Hope there are no issues as I hate calling these people. Well trained to pay no attention, or at least that is how it feels.
I travel a ton but will never use them again. Worse web experience with travel that I have encountered.
Needed to change one day on our reservation within a half hour of the original booking. They changed it without any problems, but when we asked when our card would be credited back we were informed they do not give refunds. They made sure to send an email with their terms after the fact. Maybe they should just be upfront when you call! We were also charged almost a hundred dollars more a night in fees! Hilton Hotels should be ashamed of themselves for portraying this site as their booking phone number!

Staff unable to communicate and as a result they screwed up my reservation even after I repeated it several times. Then refused to let me speak to their supervisor! I will never use your deceitful site again. Thought I was calling the hotel direct not some foreign business which forced me to pay upfront. They SUCK!

Definitely a scam. We thought we were booking a same day room for Redding, California directly with the well-known hotel chain. The confirmation came back for a room in Reading, Pennsylvania. Even though it was their obvious mistake, discovered within hours, they refused to cancel. Don't walk, run away from this company.

This is a deceptive booking group that charges a LOT of fees but makes it easy to fool people looking for cheaper rooms. I was so angry that they charged me $70 dollars and had to go back and literally open every small print on there to find their fees (even then they weren't disclosed). Unscrupulous and bad business practices. Sorry but if you were a good business

Total false marketing and a fraud. So incredibly sneaky and tricky. I was charged a line item fee for "tax and services" that was 30% over the room rate. I never knew I was making this reservation with some third party and then it was sold to yet another booking company completely behind the scenes. I thought I was dealing directly with the hotel. When I called get a room, again... very shady and they do not say their name. The agent I spoke with had no information on what these fees were or any knowledge of the policies of the company. No supervisors were available as they were all "busy". I left several emails and have still not had anyone contact me.
I've booked family apartments with two separeted rooms for 4 persons. But we've got just small double room with two add beds. When I asked getaroom to help me with this problem, they even didn't answer to me. Please, save your nerves, money and rest and don't book anything at getaroom.com
I evacuated my mobile home for Irma. I called the number for Rosen hotel because they were supposed to have special hurricane rates. I got getaroom without knowing it. The agent didn't identify himself but said Rosen was full but Quality Suites had rooms for $62.00 I was in a panic and booked the room. The room charge was $186 plus $86. I realized later that taxes should have been about $24.00 So I was charged about $60 more. I have used other online services like Priceline and never had such a fee-it negates the room deal. Getaroom is dishonest and should not be used by anyone. I don't understand how they can stay in business. Alice Meyers
Great value for money, very easy to fill in details online! Contacted hotel later with reservation number to request bed option and they came promptly back to in a positive way. Definitely check them out again!
I might have been wise to make the booking with another agency since I believe GetARoom does not allow for cancellation or refund should something occur that would prevent us from travelling to that area at this particular time. Their price was really not much different from some of the competition.
