I booked a hotel to coincide with a jazz festival and my 32nd wedding anniversary. Unfortunate my nephew passed form cancer. The funeral is being held during the time I booked the vacation. The small print on the reservation said NO REFUND. I had no luck with Affirm who paid the amt in full. Finally, when i reached out to geta room, I was treated with compassion and respect and within 24 hours Affirm received a refund and I am no longer on the hook for this. They did what affirm did not do in a week in 24hrs, Affirm even asked me to send in a copy of the obituary! When I called the next day, they said they did not ask for it. GETAROOM solved my problem. Bait and switch reservation website. Horrible to non-existent customer service - they are trained and scripted to give you the run around. They always can not find your reservation, can not confirm your identity, will provide a new number for you to call next, and will promise to get back to you in 24-48 hours and never do. Wave goodbye to your $ if you book with them.
I don't understand why they can stay in business. I would think they would be flooded with lawsuits. Thank goodness we only booked a room for one night. Thought we were getting a nice room for $80.13. It was a very old motel, had to push furniture against the door to make sure it was secure. At least he was pretty clean but very old. When we checked out they said the room was $57.24 and had been already paid on our credit card. When I called Getaroom they basically said too bad, the motel must have quoted us the wholesale rate Can't rate them less than one star or I would.
The only reason I'm hesitant to say anything at this early moment is I have had several bad experiences with online companies so I decided to try get a room. So far the experience has been just fine. It was easy to book I must say. I will update my experience again at a later date. However bad companies normally don't ask for your feedback right away or at all. They're hoping you do not find where to leave a review. Get a room has asked me several times. That shows me they are trying to do a great job.
Because of my experience with vio.com and agoda.com. They're not reputable companies in fact they are one in the same. Those two companies I listed are scams. Get a room doesn't seem to be. They've asked for my feedback several times reputable companies ask for feedback. The bad companies do not. I feel this will be a good experience through the night.
My daughter and I booked our NY hotel stay through Getaroom, planned for November this year. However, along with the rest of the world, plans have changed. With our flights from and home to UK cancelled, we contacted Getaroom. I absolutely appreciate that we booked without cancellation, however I am unsure how I can remedy this situation, with no travel possible.
Quite aside, it took weeks and more than 1 email to receive an reply from Getaroom at all!

BEWARE of this company... They trick you into logging into their website by disguising their company name... We booked a room for three weeks from now and they ran the credit card within an hour of making the reservation... They also added a load of supposed tax onto The bill... $112 tax for two nights stay and never explained what it was for... Then l tried to cancel everything and it was too late... I called their customer service number and got the run around... Never click on to a website that says "AD" in front of the site name... Make sure you call the hotel directly...
The price you see online is not the total price they added 40%
After a claim they refund part of that and now claim that as they refunded a small amount i have no right to reclaim the difference any more!

Liars, I specifically asked are you the "Crown Plaza" because something felt wrong. The young lady said yes we are central booking for them. I was told I would get the room for 116 a night plus tax. 4 dollars more than my per-diem rate but I needed a room. They never mailed me a confirmation or receipt, what I got instead was an invitation to join getaroom.com. Four calls later after being hung up on 3 times I was sent a receipt. I was charged three different rates non of which were 116 and a lump sum for service fee and taxes that cost as much as a nights stay. I will be lucky if I can get reimbursed. They have hijacked the hotel web-site and unless you are paying more attention than I was you will pay more than the hotel charges for the room. When I complained to the hotel they were aware it was going on and told me they had several rooms at my rate and I should have just called them. Buyer beware. There should be a way to stop what they are doing.
******Update***** Company did reach out and refunded my payment**** I was very happy they did so. Hopefully, they will update their cancellation policy or do better job at making it very clear so that the consumer is fully aware before completing purchase. I updated to 4 stars from 1 star since I am happy they made it right by the customer. Thanks again.

Company will not refund my cancellation that was made 1 hour after making the the reservation which was for hotel stay 25 days later. They sent a cancellation confirmation after I canceled the reservation but never reversed the charge. When I called in they said their cancellation policy is that their reservations are non-refundable.

The other night my wife booked the travel lodge in Lethbridge Alberta through you guys (at the cost of 106.53 which was more than the 79.99 quoted to her) and we were unable to check in once we arrived. After a long time on the phone we were told that our purchase would be refunded. We have only been refunded 101.14. I have decided to email you this error to see what you will do to rectify this situation. Beyond the frustration of not being able to use our booking that we made through you, and having to wait around while this was sorted out when we simply wanted to check in a get some sleep, I find this difference in the refund to be insulting. Without this concern being adequately addressed I will certainly share my experience via different feedback modalities online. Please let me know as soon as possible whether or not you intend to make this situation right.

Absolutely disgusting. I accidentally booked a hotel reservation and called ASAP for a refund. They said there was noting they could do and they'd "transfer me to a supervisor" only to hang up on me. TOTAL scam. And all these reviews that have replies from the company aren't truly getting any help or resolutions. Get A Room just replies to the reviews to cover their $#*! and act like they're helping people who have been screwed over by then, when in reality they're not. Also, the customer service call center just screams scam, you can hear a bunch of agents in the background reading off of the same script saying the same thing which is that they can't do anything to help. Such absolute SICKNESS to take advantage of people like that especially those of us that don't have a lot of money. Get A Room will take pleasure in using you, lying to you, and doing nothing to fix it... it was clearly always their intention to hurt you financially. Disgusting.

A bit confusing as to which company I was doing the deal with. I was searching for rates & availability thru several websites like: hotels.com, expedia, and tripadvisor. I found best rate via Tripadvisor, but when clicking on book reservation, was switched to Getaroom.
Beyond that it went smoothly with the exception of coming up with an acceptable password
Operator very knowledgeable. Most helpful. I have nothing else to say. This review page is quite annoying. I think you should re-think demanding 100 words. I certainly would not review on the site again.
While we had some complication with booking through this site, the customer service acted with urgency and was able to assist with the issue. I'm surprised how quickly they responded and showed empathy after emailing them about my complaint on the up charge rate.

As with so many other reviews I have read... I thought I was speaking with a Hilton representative when I made the reservations. They representative did not announce the company name upon answering the phone. I was given a room rate. Said the credit card would be charged for room and taxes. Come to find out they also added additional fees that were never disclosed. How do we as customers get this deceptive business to stop taking advantage of unsuspecting customers. I also alerted Hilton and the are now investigating.
These people are crooks. They pose as the real lodging (in my case the Lake Arrowhead Resort) on the website search, offer you above asking prices for the room and then that room type is not available so you end up paying more than you need to! Not once did the salesperson on the phone say it was not a direct booking with the resort. Be very careful with this business or you will get screwed!
Made a reservation with getaroom unknowingly (thought this was the hotel number). Now at hotel and the front staff say that no payment has been received yet my credit card was charged by getaroom. I could not get my rooms unless I paid again. This is unacceptable. We have called customer service which apparently is supposed to offer 24/7 service but no one has answered. We have been on hold for more than 25 minutes. When we emailed *******@hotelvalues.com for help the message could not be delivered. This is a scan company.

The worst experience possible would be an understatement, I will know next time, read the reviews first but thought I was using the actual hotel site, but nope, hijacked by getaroom.com, the refund policy is no refund, read the reviews on this site and others, like TripAdvisor, trustpilot, or go to the better business bureau and look them up.
At this point, I don't care if I get a refund or not, if I can save a few people from going thru what we did with this company, it's worth it.

(mine was $90 for a $167 room, making the total $257) This is added on without your knowledge along with the fact that it's a non refundable purchase. I will be contacting the BBB along with Priceline and all others to help put these ppl out of business. I tried to cancel a reservation over a week ahead because my car was hit and have no car to go there and getaroom lied and said if Hampton Inn says they will give a refund they will do it. I contacted Hampton Inn and said they were lying and ripping me off. All charged a ridiculous non existent recovery fee for housekeeping and linens. I fully intend to notify Hampton corporate and let them know this website is ruining there reputation.

First of all - you can get much better rates online or at the facility. These people charged us double the rate of the hotel. This is my fault for not looking at the reviews. Take mine to heart. Secondly, it was 115 degrees at the Palm Desert located resort so we checked out one night early. We tried and tried to get our $$ back which was fine with the hotel, but after repeated efforts to get the $185 dollars back we finally gave up. Please do not waste your time and money with these people.

They have listing that appear to be the hotels official site... until you finally pay and get a confirmation email.

This whole hotel booking market is a shambles and has removed competition between hotels.
Room rates are so expensive now and the official hotel web sites are now buried well down the page lists thanks to Google selling the first page, of your search, to booking.con
I book direct with hotels and get sane or better prices/ rooms...
I made the mistake of not using the hotel for reservations -something I will never do again. Do not use Get A Room, they will mislead you and direct you to several Get A Room customer service reps of which none could do anything but point fingers at the other. After trying several times and going in fast phone tag circles I gave up. I have spread the word and encouraged bad reviews on all review related sites. That alone is worth it to me.

Avoid this site and go directly to the Hotels for reservations. You will get a much better deal and a refund if you cancell.

I was confused by my online reservation through third party, but now it is cleared up, and i am a happy consumer.
Misleading Scam, be alert when booking your hotel. Charged $32 in junk tax recovery charges and service fees. Booked other rooms on the Holiday Inn site for less than $100, I was charged $132.45 Called to cancel or even match the price that I should have paid, they offered $9. Please don't use this service. Take your time to make sure you're booking on the proper site. I am glad that I am now aware and I will make sure to stay away from Getaroom.com
I had an issue with the hotel price and after contacting GetARoom, their customer service department was able to resolve it. I am in the process of receiving a full refund and do appreciate their efforts on my behalf.
