I booked a hotel to coincide with a jazz festival and my 32nd wedding anniversary. Unfortunate my nephew passed form cancer. The funeral is being held during the time I booked the vacation. The small print on the reservation said NO REFUND. I had no luck with Affirm who paid the amt in full. Finally, when i reached out to geta room, I was treated with compassion and respect and within 24 hours Affirm received a refund and I am no longer on the hook for this. They did what affirm did not do in a week in 24hrs, Affirm even asked me to send in a copy of the obituary! When I called the next day, they said they did not ask for it. GETAROOM solved my problem. Bait and switch reservation website. Horrible to non-existent customer service - they are trained and scripted to give you the run around. They always can not find your reservation, can not confirm your identity, will provide a new number for you to call next, and will promise to get back to you in 24-48 hours and never do. Wave goodbye to your $ if you book with them.
This company charged my credit card for a room. However, there was never a reservation made! I have never been refunded for this non existent reservation. When I tried to call, I got transferred around and eventually hung up on. It is impossible to get in touch with anyone.

I made reservation using getaroom.com at the Holiday Inn Airport West in Earth City, Missouri ($286 for one night). I have cancer and needed to cancel that reservation due to a change in treatment plans. I called the customer service and was told I could not get a refund. I tried calling the actual hotel and they told me I had to call getaroom.com. It was a circle of nonsense! I challenged the charge on my card. They researched it and getaroom.com analyst Ray Reyes lied to them when he said the hotel's policy was not to refund when they told me and so did customer service that it was getaroom.com's policy. Beware of this company who says they can get you good deals. Maybe so, but their follow on service is crap!
Booked a room for 3 nights. Getaroom confirmation shows cost per room and states that fees are for taxes, etc... and booking fees. This is not accurate. The hotel clerk didn't know the reservation was prepaid and accidentally charged me the full amount of $390.72. An odd amount since the amount I prepaid Getaroom was $587.30 for that exact same reservation. The hotel quickly credited me but when I questioned rate difference the hotel said we only know what we get paid from them. As it turns out the extra 40% ($196.58) was not for hotel or resort fees as the language on the reservation confirmations mislead you to believe. As it turns out they charged me a fee of $196.58 to book a $390.72 reservation. I have filed a compliant with the Better Business Bureau and will be booking direct from now on.

Booked my reservation 2 months in advance for my child's tournament for 2 nights. 2 weeks before date of reservation I tried to cancel because the tournament got moved to a different city. I wanted to just move my reservation to the new city with getaroom but they refused and charged me $400 on top.
Worst site for hotels, don't ever use this site.
Get a room, got a hold of me and refunded money.

I got someone else's reservation in my email address. So it showed me their full name their phone number their home address their email where they were staying that she was alone in the room and the date she was staying. Unbelievable security breach and I got absolutely no help from the support center. They put me on hold for 20 minutes waiting to speak to a supervisor yet in the end I spoke to no one that could justify or explain this error. That is just one complaint about this company. I have another but won't even start
We got your phone number by going to google looking for a specific motel. Made the reservations through you and paid an extra $73.47 for that mistake. Word of mouth from your customers is the best & worst way to recommend your company. I have & will continue to spread the word about your company. Even on Google in the "Ask" area, it says your company is not legit.

Absolutely horrible experience dealing with getaroom. Stay away from them go directly to hotels you want to book, don't use this 3rd party junk company. I made a huge mistake to book through them after a long flight. If you book with a hotel you want directly they have a reputation to protect, this company is a 3rd party junk and there shouldn't've be a reason for them to even exist but was sold on this from a google ad which they probably pay for so they can come up on top of the search. You want to book Hilton, go directly to Hilton, not getaroom like I did which ended up with me writing a review to help others not have to deal with a junk company like this one.

Thee company is a hidden contact and interferes with your booking unexpectedly, apparently they are partners of Priceline ( bad company too) give very hard time to cancel your reservation, I don't recommend them at all. Very bad customer service including customer service of Priceline. I will never use Priceline and get-room partner. I didn't receive the refund yet. Spent few day to cancel my reservation between Hilton, Priceline and get- room

I booked a room through 5is site - it looked like it was the website of the hotel but this was a deception - and the nightly rate was reasonable - about £46. When I completed the sale it came to £143, "Tax recovery and service fees" had been added which I had not been made aware of in the usual, "total cost" manner of normal, honest websites.
I have not been refunded at the time of writing, but have raised the issue with trading standards.

I made reservations for a night in New Orleans. After reserving, I discovered I could have gotten a King for same money. I immediately started backtracking, hoping to find a page where I could swap rooms. I eventually hit a page that said "if you go any further, you will have cancelled and you will receive no refund". I stopped, did not click, decided a queen would be just fine! The next morning I get an email confirming reservation and another email cancelling. The activity times on email were less 5 minutes apart. I called customer service. I maintain I never hit the button on dialogue box to cancel, they said I did. I told them I wanted the room, they said too late. They essentially stole $321.
Refund was cancelled with no penalty applied (as per my confirmation emails and the getaroom.com reservation confirmation page) yet my account was not refunded. I called customer service and I am still fighting for the refund and they told me it was handled by Expedia. Way to ship your calls overseas and then pass the buck to Expedia.
The reservation experience with Diana Rosenthal was fantastic but the rest of the company services are terrible.
I was searching rates and was given a 10 minute time to book at a much lower rate. After accepting the rate an entering my info the booking doubled in price. Upon contacting Get A Room they would not honor the lower rate or cancell the reservation. Spoke with hotel manager and was told they have several complaints weekly about such transactions.

Their web site is a bit devious in that you really don't know your dealing with for reservations. Thought I was booking direct with Travelodge Inn & Suites by Wyndham Deadwood SD only to find out that I had been directed to this company. Tried to call the number on the confirmation at GetARoom and they have no record of my reservation, however it was charged to my credit Card. Had to eat the $300 dollars plus. Now working with my credit card company to get my money back. The room was not up to Wyndham Gardens standards, badly needs remodeling, morning breakfast ran out of food two days in a row, very noisy not very clean.

I had several issues trying to add an additional night to my previously made room reservation. Eventually, customer service reached our and offered to fix the problems. They even held me harmless for the higher cost of the extra night that I was required to make under a separate reservation. Further, they called the hotel to make sure that having 2 separate reservations would not cause me to have to change rooms the last night of my stay. I was very pleased that they took my complaint seriously and proactively figured out a very satisfactory way to fix the issues I had encountered.

Jeremy helped us get two rooms together near Disneyland. To make this happen we had to be willing to travel 20 minutes. (Which is a bummer but at least our rooms are together.) Looking forward to our vacation. Let you more later.
My wife has told me that I should have known: but when I was looking for a hotel room in Baltimore, I accidentally made a reservation with "GetARoom.com." They cited a price, and I went for it, booking two nights. Once I got the actual charge, I saw a few things. First, the price for the second night was at least $50 higher than the first. Second, they added an additional $100+ dollars for "tax recovery charges and service fees." Finally, they told me that the reservation was non-refundable. When I called to try to cancel, they offered me a $26 discount. Not what I was looking for! This is a predatory enterprise. DON'T USE GETAROOM.COM!
P.S.: complaining helps. After writing this, I got a refund.

Simple, easy to navigate website. Found a nice hotel in the area I wanted at a good price. Would recommend to use Get A Room. Received my booking confirmation immediately and another email to make sure I had everything I needed. Amazing!

This is a follow up to my previous review. After posting my review here, getaroom.com contacted me to refund $72 of the $80 in transaction fees charged for the 2 night hotel reservation, resulting in a very reasonable $8 transaction charge for booking the room through getaroom. Sometimes things go wrong. This was a great service recovery.
I fully acknowledge that in my haste to reserve a room last minute while on the road that I did not catch the $40/night transaction charge (excluding local taxes and fees) getaroom.com initially charged me when making the reservation until I saw the confirmation and it was too late. My negative review was for the customer service reaction to my complaint about the exorbitant charge. Getaroom's site made the reservation easy.
Would recommend you read the fine print carefully. In a hurry for a last minute reservation while traveling was pulled in by search engine marketing thinking I was reserving directly with the hotel. Was charged a $40/night transaction charge by getaroom for reserving a $110/night hotel room excluding taxes. Didn't realize until got confirmation. When contacted customer service was essentially told too bad. Had to prepay and last minute so couldn't cancel. Don't know why anyone would do business with such a company.

They hijack you from the hotel web site then bait you with a low price then Switch to a much higher price once they have your credit card information then tell you it's non refundable.
Get a room customer service did reach out with a letter. The letter was a red herring The bank declined the refund. Because I had agreed to the terms prior to knowing they were going to charge an extra $300.00 +
So Get a room responded with a letter with again no way to contact them and no resolution.

If you want to get ripped off, use this site! I was also a victim of the added price change after you book a room. Thank God I only got stuck for 1 night! Per the hundreds of bad reviews, there are worse off people than me! You are quoted a room price and when you agree to it, there is a Huge room tax fee added on and they refuse to refund your money when you call them out on it!
If you're booking more than one room in a reservation, you can only select the same type of room for each one. It doesn't allow you to customize the room type for each room individually, which is allowable under every other hotel booking I've ever experienced. This seems like very sloppy or lazy design.

This is a scam. There will be NO rebate. I have called 7 times and spoke to 7 people and after 3 months all they say is "we see you are owed a rebate and we have escalated it". Imagine hearing that line 7 times. I have given up on this $25 rebate. Don't fall for their scam. I found there coupon in entertainment 2012 book. I will let them know not to allow getaroom in there next years book.
Getaroom.com would get no stars if possible. In desperate need of a hotel room, we called this number looking for a room. After several attempts, they lied about the bed number and charged us double the price of what the hotel would have. They refuse to be of any assistance or give a refund. Do not use this site!
I was trying to book directly in the hotel website of Discovery Suites but was routed to this site. It offered 3 different rates for a Twin Premiere room, I chose the cheapest because there's no difference between the three, but got charged for the most expensive. I called the hotel directly because I thought this was a scam but they cannot check on my reservation right away so I called customer service of getaroom. The CSR was friendly but cannot explain the difference of the 3 rates and offered to refund me 10% off the total price I was charged. Agreed to it because the price difference was $4.
Went to the website of the hotel and tried to book directly to see the price difference. It was $45. Getaroom charges $95 tax/service fee which is ridiculously high compared to what I would be charged if booked directly.

Absolutely horrible! I was double charged and now I have to jump through hoops to try and get a refund. This has caused me a setback I was not planning on! Like many I live paycheck to paycheck. Spending the night at a Hotel was supposed to be a great getaway for a celebration. A treat for ourselves. My husband is on dialysis and not working. I just wanted he and I to have a special night. But now that special night has cost us twice what it should have. And with no more money coming in until Friday we are in a serious jam. Even if you have the extra money to throw away don't give it to these crooks. They claim "no fees" that is an absolute lie! At least $20 extra is what we were charged on top of what was stolen from us besides.
