I booked a hotel to coincide with a jazz festival and my 32nd wedding anniversary. Unfortunate my nephew passed form cancer. The funeral is being held during the time I booked the vacation. The small print on the reservation said NO REFUND. I had no luck with Affirm who paid the amt in full. Finally, when i reached out to geta room, I was treated with compassion and respect and within 24 hours Affirm received a refund and I am no longer on the hook for this. They did what affirm did not do in a week in 24hrs, Affirm even asked me to send in a copy of the obituary! When I called the next day, they said they did not ask for it. GETAROOM solved my problem. Bait and switch reservation website. Horrible to non-existent customer service - they are trained and scripted to give you the run around. They always can not find your reservation, can not confirm your identity, will provide a new number for you to call next, and will promise to get back to you in 24-48 hours and never do. Wave goodbye to your $ if you book with them.
I inadvertently made a reservation in LaGrange GA as opposed to LaGrange KY. I phoned Reservation Counter who placed me on hold for fifteen minutes and told me the supervisor would not refund the money and the full amount will be charged - over $400. They gave me a number for getaroom.com who told me they could not refund the money and told me to call Reservation Counter again. Finally we were told to call the hotel directly to ask what refund if any they are willing to give. This has been horrible customer service - the entities are working together because they would say "I see you spoke to Frank with Reservation Counter - when I was speaking to gets room.com. My advice, call the hotel directly - do not use the online services to book a reservation.
I don't even know how I ended up at their site. I was charged $570.48 for "tax recovery charges and service fee". I called customer service and was given the run around. They could not "disclose" the break down of the charges. My hotel bill was $1254.99. Their fees are very unreasonable 31%. And, getaroom charged my account at the time of of the reservation, so had the use of my money for 3 months.

I looked for a room online and the total with tax was $600. I just looked at my bank statement and they charged me $197 in fees! WTF?! I will never do this again. However, after posting this review I received a call from customer service and they credited back the fees. Good redemption. Still pay attention to the details of your charge.

I had to book twice through them. The first time I was not charged any extra fees, as it said I would be responsible for them at the hotel. The next day they cancelled my reservation as " they did not have the rooms available, as it was at capacity." When I called later that day the miraculously had extra rooms. I was charged an extra $500 for fees, saying they would take care of the cleaning fees and such. Fast forward to checking out at the hotel. I was charged those fees again. The hotel stated they were not not informed and I need to take it up with the booking agent. I called and was told there is nothing they can do and they took care of the fees they took care of. Essentially being double charge, with no one taking responsibility. I would find a better booking agent and stick with them!

The first woman said we had to cancel the old reservation before we could book a new one. When that old reservation was done Robert came on the scene to say we would have to pay for the now two rooms booked. He was working on it with the local Hilton. I still haven't gotten the confirmation of its refund for the first room booked. He did verbally say it was fixed. But I spent over an hour on it. It was mostly on hold. I have never had so much trouble with a Hilton hotel. Makes me think twice about the future. I hope there will be no problem when I get there.

For two guests but it appears as just for one. The second reservation is for one regular king size bed, but they booked it for a special needs bedroom, which is not the case.Can you fix those two problems and contact me confirming it,please? Thanks.
No one answers the phone number they give, abd the 800 number cannot be dialed from Mexico, where I am. I cannot get the errors in the reservations corrected.I am frustrated.

The reservation was early easy enough but if you want to modify or edit your reservation, you cant!
You have to cancel the whole thing and start all over.
Other booking sites lets you modify or make changes... so not being able to do that got 2 stars.
Do not use this site. I booked a room through them and two months later they called and cancelled my reservation and said thee hotel was overbooked! In the meantime they had charged and used my credit card over 2 thousand dollars and sent me a confirmation email. So they used my money for 2 months and left me without a hotel for my trip. There customer service is non existent and they just don't care that they have ruined your vacation. I would highly advise everyone to stay away from this site!
Recently our daughter suddenly passed away and we had to cancel upcoming plans to an event in Boston. After an exhausting hour on he phone with various representatives from getaroom I was directed to a supervisor named Debbie. She was very helpful in getting me a full refund and was very compassionate to our situation. I would like to thank her for all she did for us.

I found these reviews after my bad experience with getaroom.com. Customer service is terrible. I needed to change my reservation to 1 night later, and they said they could only book me a new reservation, and cancel the old one, and I'd have to pay the full price on the cancellation. No amount of reasoning could even get them to admit what a terrible cancellation policy that was.
With hundreds of reviews and a 1 star average, I think you know all you need to know about this company.
The booking process was intentionally misleading. The webpage I was on was set up to trick the user into thinking they were on hotel's website. After completing my reservation, I received my email confirmation from getaroom.com, which was the only indication that I had not actually booked directly with the hotel. After selecting the rate and providing my credit card info, the completed transaction showed a $621 "Tax Recovery" fee that was NOT disclosed earlier. This is for a 3 day booking so getaroom.com added over $200 per day to my hotel cost! AVOID GETAROOM.COM unless you enjoy being ripped off.
We decided to look for a room walking distance to the US Bank Stadium and all agreed the Radisson Blu would be a great place to stay.
Using GetARoom was easy & quick. It made our reservation with no issues at all. The option to get the confirmation number e-mailed and/or texted to us was a nice feature.
So a room had already been booked at the hotel, they left it up as available on getaroom. When I tried to book the room I got an error. So I tried again, this time it said the room was already booked. I found a different room and everything worked correctly. However now I have 3 charges on my credit card. Their support tells me they'll get rid of two of the charges, sure hope so...
Difficult to talk to a live agent. Have to be pretty persistent with the AI on the phone.

Called to book a room for my brother in laws wedding and asked them for the wedding block and discount. They said they gave me the discount and charged me for $640 for 2 nights. I asked my mother in law right after I hung up if that was correct and she said it should have been $320. I called back two minutes later and they said they could not change my reservation. I asked to speak with PETER's supervisor and he hung up. I will never use them again.
Hiking in mountains of NC with poor cell service. Got cell service for a moment and thought I was booking a room through Hilton.com, but I had been careless and gotten on a third party site. I didn't realize what a mistake I made until I got my credit card bill and saw recovery charges and service fees of 42% of the room rate. This is outrageous and a ripoff.

Short time to get in touch with a customer rep. Very competent. Only thing that was disappointing, my changes were priced in US dollars, whereas my initial bokking was charged in Canadian dollars. In other words, same room was charged 99$ CA the first time, 99$ US the second time. At the end, I pay extra 21$ CA for each day. It would have been best for me to cancel online, and book again online speaking in CA dollars. This said, very easy to speak with your customer rep. Well done!
I've used Getaroom without any problems a few times in the past. My inly complaint is I wish the best rates were posted online. Someone who reviewed before me had a problem finding the right number, this is the one that I called: *******187 with no problems booking or checking in.
Getaroom cheated me out of $1,800. Stay away from them. I told them immediately not to charge my credit card and they did it anyway. They were supposedly going to investigate but they never got back to me. Unethical!
I unknowingly used this website when a call I thought I was making direct to a hotel went to this website's customer service center instead. Defrauded like others who have complained on this site. They posed as the hotel and told me my rate would be $98. When I received the confirmation I saw the price was increased by 50% with undisclosed charges. When I immediately called back to cancel after receipt of the confirmation they refused to cancel the room. After seeing all the complaints similar to mine I am going to call the Better Business Bureau and the Office of the Texas Attorney General (phone number *******100). Urge you to do the same.

Agent booked me rooms that I never requested or agreed to! Wanted a two bedroom suite and booked me 2 separate hotel rooms. Spoke with supervisor who is requesting the recorded conversation between me and the agent! Still waiting. No need to book third party!
Didn't realize that I was booking with these guys. I wanted to make reservations at the Doubletree Hilton and this popped up. I made reservations but mistakenly didn't put in the right date. I immediately called them and told them what I had done and asked them to change the date and I would pay the additional amount for a weekend booking. I made the reservation mistakenly for that same night which meant I had an hour to get to the hotel before the next day kicked in. Contacted the hotel and they told me that GetARoom had to refund the card, that their hands were tied. I'm out out $231.62. Wish I could have given that room to a homeless person since no one was able to use it. I know that if they wanted to they could have done the right thing. Shame on you!
This is def a third party that will guide you to whatever hotel rooms they have available. I actually thought I was calling the hotel, but it was a 3rd party whose number must have popped up when I googled the specific hotel phone number. My mistake. The rep was nice but there was a communication barrier and I thought I had made reservation at my desired hotel, but the confirmation showed something different. Also, they do charge you in full immediately and will issue a refund when you cancel, as opposed to using your card to hold the room and not charging until close to your arrival. They were professional in getting it resolved. Waiting for the charge to be reversed.
I was trying to book a room through the hotel I wanted to stay, they have a misleading site that makes you think that's what you're doing. They screwed up my request so I called (that's when I found out it was them and not the hotels I I canceled my reservation, they said my refund would be up to the hotel but if I book with them I should be refunded in full. Well they said the hotel didn't agree to the refund the afternoon of my check out, that's crap because when I checked in they had never canceled my reservation, the hotel did when I checked in! Be cautious and don't use this site! I will always call first from now on, I've learned my lesson having to pay double for a room

I only chose 1 star because it is the lowest allowed. This company is terrible and is often operating as a third part behind the scenes. I find them completely inflexible and will always book through the hotel directly in the future.
I like to work with the hotel directly. In this case there was no refund. If plans change I think it fair to cancel with in 48 hours. Most hotels allow this but if the purchase is final your hands are tied.
