Not able to call or contact via website
" I tried to contact via phone and on the website but could not
I recently processed a booking for the holiday inn Newcastle in a hurry as my husband is standing in the rain cold, running out of phone battery and needing somewhere to stay overnight in Australia Newcastle. I did it in such a hurry I didn't realise I had the wrong country.
The card said declined but the $203 was debited from our account!
Can we please be contacted immediately to arrange a refund. I'm sorry for the inconvenience."
Unable to sent this as I didn't have an itinerary number. Phone was no better as it referred me to the hotel who had no record of the booking.
I think we were scammed
Website changed my November 25 reservation with November 22 cancellation to a same day booking (nonrefundable rate). Multiple people report the same experience.
The pool was supposedly just filled up but it was just as cold two weeks ago, the service of reserving a room was bad. The pool was super cold as long with the hot tub.

Katrina and Ranisia are very professional and courteous! Customer service and hospitality was the best. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area Thanks for Everything!
While traveling, I was trying to make a Hampton Inn reservation on my phone. I wanted a phone number, rather than try to fill in a reservation on my phone while riding in the car. I called, what purported to be Hilton. I had some trouble understanding the reservation clerk due to her accent, but clearly heard her respond at least twice with "yes" when I asked if this was the Hilton number and if she had my Hilton rewards number. She said that they were contracted by the hotel to take reservations. I later learned this was a lie. I should have hung up, but we were exhausted from driving and anxious to get a hotel room. When I got the email receipt there was a charge of $61.72 for "Tax Recovery & SERVICE FEES). The front desk clerk at the Hampton Inn & Suites, Vandallia, Ohio, was most helpful in verifying that the number I'd called was NOT that hotel or the general Hilton number and that many people have been taken advantage of by this company. I now have the Hilton App on my phone and will reserve through that.
Hi Pamela, we are sorry you had this experience. Just like when you book through a hotel directly, Guest Reservations must charge its customers for all applicable taxes, including any hotel taxes. Additionally, by charging a service fee for all of its reservations, we are able to offer 24/7 customer support and operate as an independent travel network. Guest Reservations conspicuously discloses all fees and taxes on its checkout summary webpage, asking customers to check a box acknowledging these before they enter their payment information. Despite our transparency, we remain concerned about your experience. Please provide us your reservation # and the email address used at purchase and we will respond with the next steps. Thank you.
I thought I was booking a room on hotel website, but their site is very misleading. After I confirmed the room the email was sent with the wrong date, and changed 28$ tax on a 61$ room. They will not refund or change room date to intended date.
These guys are slicker than snail snot. I googled the name of the hotel and their webpage came up. It looked very much like an official corporate page with detailed pictures of the hotel lobby, rooms, pool, etc. The agent lied multiple times to me. I asked if I was dealing with Marriott directly and was told yes. I was told the room was the last one available at the rate of $222 (there were multiple rooms still available). I asked him if that rate included a 15% discount offered by the nearby University to parents and visitors. Again the answer was yes. I also asked if the property had a charger for electric vehicles. He assured me that they did. Also a lie. Fortunately I recognized that something wasn't right and cancelled the reservation. My debit card was refunded in the full amount. I booked the same room on the same night directly through Marriott for nearly $100 less!
This is scam company that adds a 35% charge to your hotel booking fee without telling you. They pretend to be a hotel but they are a 3rd Party. You cannot get a refund as their process is convoluted. I have forwarded the case to the authorities. Please never ever book a single thing from this scam business.

Be aware! The price of the rooms on this site may be the same price of the hotel website but the "catch" to say it in a decent way is the "Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees" when you compare it with the real taxes if you would have made the reservation through the hotel it will be more than almost $100 for doing nothing. It is the first website you will find on the browser but this site is a smart trap. Also, they lie about the cancelation policy saying is because of the hotel since the hotel does not even know about the reservation... just do yourself a favor and make sure don't use this dark website.
My experience was the same as many other negative reviews. Price quoted $90. Price charged $138. Immediately called, told it was a booking fee, told I couldn't cancel even though I had placed the order five minutes before. Also told they said on their site that I couldn't cancel which was not true because I went back and searched to see what I had missed. Their site address is misleading and suckered me and many others in.

This company will scam you by adding extra fees!
My rate was $137 and they charged $70.00 extra- there is no way the tax is this much. They said they charge a fee for parking and mini bar( which hotel does not charge, I asked hotel and they said they never charge for parking and they have no mini bar)
Rip off!

Had to cancel due to an emergency. Was in an accident and not able to attend the retreat that was scheduled in June. Cancelled well in advance. This was not something that I could have prevented and kept the reservations. I am going through several surgeries and a long haul for physical therapy and not able to travel or participate in the retreat. I do not know how you can consciously keep peoples money if not able to keep the reservations. I can understand if I did not show or was late. But 3 month notice? Plenty of notice in advance. I will certainly pass the word around what big crooks you are. One star was the lowest rating I could give you. I wanted to put negative... Does the hotels you cater to know of the scam that you are running?
I experienced the same thing that hundreds of other customers have reported about this company. Following a specific search for the hotel's direct website I was directed to a page that spoofed the hotel's domain appearance, logos, branding, etc.
Trusting that the hotel's legitimate website would not deceptively charge 50% fees at checkout, I buzzed right through the process.
Shame on GuestReservations.com for these intentionally deceptive sales practices.
Even worse than this pathetic company who has calculated ways to overcharge clients for years, with thousands of documented complaints about the tactic is the fact that Google allows this to persist.
A quick review of the hundreds of BBB complaints against this company makes it quite obvious what is going on. Google is choosing to support this practice in exchange for advertising dollars.
It's a shame that people make money by repeating a tactic that is deceptive and calculated, and worse that Google is their accomplice.
You think you are going directly through the hotels website and then you don't get to verify your purchase total and you get charged outrageous fees. This is a scam! I don't understand how they have any good ratings at all. I was charged $65 in taxes and fees that when I got to the hotel I was told they would not have charged me. My $130 room was suddenly $195. Scam scam scam!
Needed to change reservation or cancel 15 days prior to booked stay. Hotel approved cancelation but Guest Reservation and Getaroom would no oblige. They. Need there $700 so bad they would not lend a finger to help with trying to change dates or cancel. Do not take a chance with these 2 3rd party crooks

When you put the name of a hotel into Google, this site often comes up top. It tends to look like the hotel site itself. But it is not; it is a commercial booking site. If you use it, you will find that you are charged an extra booking fee, which is often substantial. Don't use it!
I called and booked a room directly to receive a group rate for an event I was attending on Mar 9. I arrived at 4 pm on Mar 9 and was rudely informed that my reservation was cancelled because it was for Mar 8-10. I told them I never canceled and only booked 1 night and wanted to know when and who canceled. After many eye rolls from the female manager, I stood and watched the clerks speaking, stating there was 2 reservations. One for 8-10, which I never booked, and another for 9-10. Apparently, they decided since I didn't show up for 8th, they canceled both. I kept questioning
And between the sighs and dirty looks, I was informed they tried to call but when asked what number, she looked at the screen which obviously didn't have one, and said whatever one was on there. I was never told who canceled, never apologized to, never offered any kind of reparation. Only attitude and dirty looks and the obvious conclusion this was only my problem. This is after my first stay, one month prior, I was told to pay a $25 fee to check in ONE hour early, cash only btw. I'm sure I bought her a nice lunch.

They charged me 100$ for my reservation plus they told me the parking was free at the hotel ( I had to pay 50$ more at checkout) plus they told me that the pool was open at the hotel and I specifically asked about, it was one of the reasons I've chose that hotel, and it was closed. When I called them to ask what happened they email me saying that they didn't know and there's nothing they could do about it. Please don't use this!

This website offers free cancellation and it is a complete scam, they won´t let you cancel and you will get no refund. If you try to cancell you WILL get stuck in a loop with ther automated bot that is the "customer service representative".
Do no book with them they designed their webpage to make you believe its the actual hotel... I lost almost $ 400.00
Booked an Ibis hotel in Malaga. Thought I was on Ibis's site but somehow made a mistake and eneded up on Guest Reservations. Through deceptive practices, they marked up the cost of the room by 91.82%. Total scam artists. Report to Better Bureau Business Bureau in the US, Google Advertising, and your local bank. Challenge all charges and you can win. It will take work, but they always loose with the banks because they recognize that they are scam artists. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
