The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with some customers praising the efficiency and support of specific staff members during the leasing process, highlighting a seamless experience and quick move-in times. However, significant concerns have emerged regarding service delays, inadequate maintenance, and poor communication. Many customers reported unresolved issues, including mold and plumbing problems, alongside frustrations over application fees and lack of responsiveness from management. Overall, while there are positive experiences, the recurring complaints suggest a need for improved customer service and property management practices to enhance tenant satisfaction and retention.

Please do not apply for any of their properties or do business with MainStreet Renewal. They scam people into applying for properties that are not available and then ask you to apply for another one. I wouldn't even give them one star if I could.
I recently applied for a home that was listed and paid an application fee. But I was told through email that I was approved but since someone else did an application before mines that they got the home first and I can transfer my application to another home. This is where I have the problem. How was more than 1 person able to apply for a certain home and pay fees before you figure out that the first applicant may be approved? This would mean that you can keep receiving people's fees no matter what... doesn't sound fair to me bc the area I wanted is no longer available. I honestly should get a refund! Most companies take a home off when an application is in process! I need answers
THEY DON'T COMMUNICATE WORTH A FLIP. THEY HIRED A PLUMBER TO FIX A LEAK (THAT HAD BEEN ON GOING FOR OVER A YEAR THE PLUMBER STATED) NOW THEY WONT FIX THE HOLE THAT THE PLUMBER HAD TO CUT OUT TO GET TO THE LEAK. IM 7 MONTHS PREGNANT AND THEY HAVE MADE ME TAKE OFF WORK 3 TIMES FOR THEM TO "COME FIX" AND WHEN THEY GET THERE, THEY CANT FIX. ITS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD THAT ANY COMPANY WOULD TREAT THEIR TENANTS THIS WAY. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM THEM AGAIN.
I currently reside in Browns Summit, NC. This company actually gets no NO STARS! I have had worse issues in my home since day 1. The second day I was in my home my tub was stopped up, my second bathroom was leaking water under sink and the kitchen sink was leaking water. A few months later the kitchen sink was leaking more water. All of that was suppose to have been taken care of but a few months later right when covid hit, I noticed more leaking water from kitchen sink and was told it wasNOT an emergency so they would not be coming out. The leak became bigger and filled my entire floor and was running down the back of the home. It took multiple people to come to the home before it was fixed and took 2 months. Every plumber blamed the next plumber. I also had issues w water backing up in dish washer. The main water source also had leaking water coming from in running onto my floor. Next there was leaking water from master bedroom sink. Took days to fix. I expressed my concerns that I belive mold was growing in the home due to smell... it smelled wet in my house w a strong odor. The maintenance guys were suppose to make sure of no mold but all they did was cover it up with wood. I NOW have a leaking shower with water running between the walls. This was discovered once mold began to grow on the roof of my garage ceiling and in my sons closet. They sent more people out one who went to jail the next day for stealing! Yes the next maintenance guy told me that when they returned. Over months I had been speaking with Rachel Closner in the triad area for months about my concerns and that I would like to be placed out the home because of so much water damage and due to mold. I knew there was growing mold from the start. She did NOTHING. She never apologized until I brought it up. To wrap this up, they did nothing to accommodate me for all the issues. I went weeks without being able to use my shower I lived in a home with mold for months. My kids and I being exposed to it. With this company doing NOTHING. They told me they could NOT accommodate me. Do NOT rent or buy from these people. They do not care about you and will allow you to live in harmful conditions.
These people scammed me out of my security deposit - worst company ever! Don't rent from them!
They are also holding me accountable for my lease when plumbing issues erupted - They won't take my call or listen to an email message - WORST COMPANY!
I will never contact this company again. Its a pain, scaming people. Just run, please. They just take your money
This company is out for money only i paid an application fee and this $#*! whole BROOKE LAVIOLETTE canceled my application because of on simple miss steak which was my last name and the other employers there are no help at all people please do your reach on these $#*! wholes because they are not right they make you go through so much just to rent out a property with them and its not right be leave these reviews when someone writes them because they are very helpful at the end of the day MAINSTREET RENEWAL ARE SOME $#*! WHOLE THE WHOLE COMPANY I WISH I HAD READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE HAND THEY WOULD HAVE NOT EVEN GOTTEN MY MONEY
I strongly encourage you to rent from a different property management company. First day I moved in there was blood in the refrigerator and broken shelving (which by the way never got resolved). The fireplace, one of the reasons I rented this home, was broken. Put in a work order (never got fixed). The house was not cleaned at all, broken blinds, carpet should have been replaced and it smelled of dog. Fortunately I took pics of everything and will be getting with an attorney when my lease is up so I am not charge for things that should have been fixed before I moved in. And I also will be reporting them to the BBB and FTC for fraud.

If you are considering renting from them, I strongly encourage you to rent from a different property management company. Read the reviews on Yelp, Better Business Bureau, and other websites. If everyone is saying similar things, they probably aren't all lying.
We moved into a house in early June with a 20+ year old AC unit infested with mold and leaking. We reported the issue within a week, and they didn't fix it until over a month later. Additionally, we had a non-working stove, oven, and dishwasher upon move in. This made it quite challenging to cook in the middle of a pandemic. We reported this issue within a week. We did not have a working stove, oven, or dishwasher until 45 days after move in.
We submitted a request for financial compensation to account for the house clearly not being ready for tenants when we moved in. Today, 79 days after we moved in, they offered us $100... We are dumbfounded that this is all they feel necessary. I believe this speaks volumes to the type of business they are - one that does not put customers first, rather treats them as an inconvenience, and solely focused on their bottom line.
They list homes as available even after they are leased and a deposit paid on them. I spent weeks working with them to find another home and more than once when a home showed available & "apply now", I was told it was already leased. My agent even responded once that a home "shouldn't be up on the website. I will take it back down." That's shameful and corrupt business practice. I truly believed they would get me in a home but I wasted precious time for nothing.
They don't care awful awful terrible people! They should be closed down!
New development... didnt have ac for a week now... nobody has called or give an update. Called DEBRA PAPPAS the area manager at *******240 ext 4202 and can never get in touch with her. Your better off explaining capitalism to a person that doesnt speak english than to deal with any type of dialogue with them... JUST READ THE REVIEWS! ALL OF US CANT BE LYING! AND I DONT WRITE REVIEWS MY GIRLFRIEND USUALLY DOES THEM!
The absolute worst rental company! Please Please Please do not rent from these scam artists! They will not repair small or major issues. They will charge you 3,4, and 5 times for the same bill. They will NOT answer your calls in an emergency situation! For Example; Your Fuse box blows in the heat of summer leaving you with completely no power, for over 5 days... They refuse to fix it, or relocate you because well they won't answer the phone for you the tenant or the Electrician. Only after you get the media news outlets involved, do they respond... By respond I mean, they tell you they will barely fix it, and not give you any concessions for the 5 days of lost power, lost food, and lost income, from an issue that could have been easily fixed in a few hours. Check out all the other horrible reviews before you rent from this absolute turd of a company!
We have moved out on the 1 st and returned keys on 2nd they charged me 10 days. The house been cleaned and painted they charged me $514 for painting and $100 for cleaning, what is wrong with these people, please do not rent from them they gonna gonna do anything to keep your hard working money deposit, my deposit is $1845 And send me a check of 479.78 this is so wrong.
This is the worse company. Stop do not rent anything from them they don't fix anything and blame you The send n unprofessional emails and unreasonable charges.
I am an owner in a community where Main Street Renewal bought a property. First they didn't get all their permits when sloppily rehabbing the property (trash in the streets, etc., and rude workers), and then they rented to it seems multi-families with at least 5-8 cars at any one time, especially at night, parked on the side of the home and in the front yard. Their yard is a parking lot. They don't mow the lawn, and their trash cans are left out front. We have a quiet section of the street, mainly retirees, and this is awful! People coming and going constantly!
I rented a Mainstreet Home in Gilbert, AZ for 2 years. I was an excellent renter. I paid for the trees to be trimmed (they never reimbursed me) and kept the house immaculate. When my 2 year renewal came up, they wanted to raise my rent $300/mo. I purchased a home instead and gave them well over 30 days notice. I followed all of their move out instructions completely. I paid for a cleaning service and left the house in perfect condition. They sent me $200 out of my $1800 deposit back. They made up a ton of bogus charges in order for them not to give me my deposit back.
They are not a fair business and they will find any excuse to keep your money in an unethical way. I urge you to not give them your business, you will lose a lot of money with them.
This is by far the worst property management company I have ever rented from... I rented the house in January; 3 weeks before I arrived from the other side of the country. When I arrived, the house did not have heat or hot water and there were multiple other issues. Appliances did not work, there were electrical issues, water leaking issues from the second floor, roof issues and I was starting a new job in 3 days. Trust me when I say they did not care and expected me to be available at a moments notice for repair people to come and "look" at what was wrong and then set another appointment, after they got approval, to fix the issue. I have been in the house almost 5 months and the repairs are still not completed. I was told that exposed electrical wiring (which their person left that way) was not critical and the maintenance request was closed. I have sent emails with pictures, opened numerous maintenance requests and have been on hold for hours to try and get things done. Today was the frosting on this horrible cake. They have been billing me for renters insurance since I moved in; I have sent my policy to multiple people via email and my agent has sent it 5 times to their office. After being on hold for 24 minutes I left my number for their level 2 rep to call me back. I received a call and was told that they had received my renters insurance policy multiple times but it did not meet their standardyou see the address that my agent put on the policy for MSR was not the Texas office, it was the local office, so I have to pay for their renters insurance policy; remember they verified that they have received my policy multiple times and they have never contacted me to tell me that even though they have proof of the policy and that I'm covered the address needed to be changed. And, I live in a very high-end house for the area, I would absolutely hate to see the houses that are mid-range rent.
So, do yourself a favor and do not walk away from a house that is managed by this company, but RUN!
I moved in one of their properties on March 24,2020. I applied 3/11 and was offered 500 gift card. I asked Sheena Williamson about the gift card 3/19 and she told me she was waiting for Barrie Bennett to reply. She came back and stated I would get it after 2 full months of rent were paid and to just email Barrie Bennett. So after June rent was paid I emailed Barrie Bennett the leasing agent and inquired about the move in offer and told oh no you were not eligible at the time you applied it was expired 5 days before. I then asked why was I not asked when I originally asked and so where did it state the expiration date on offer. Barrie replied she would forward to higher management and no one til this day has responded to me. It took this company 3 months to do any repairs from when I moved in 3/24, which I understood due to the pandemic. I put in numerous request and they kept getting canceled until I started complaining. My air conditioner went out Friday 7/16, they referred me to a company Sunday 7/21 I called and emailed them twice everyday until Wednesday. I emailed Barrie Bennett about not getting in contact with any one and being without air for almost 5 days and she stated a work order was put in they should be contacting you, try contacting them instead of her assisting me by calling herself as a concerned Mainstreet employee. I had to call corporate to get a representative to help. The first company to whom Mainstreet sent the work order to was not accepting orders. The representative had to find another company that would take the work order. The new company sent someone out Yesterday 7/25 figured out that the fan was gone on the AC and needed and new one. I am still without AIR! I have not heard from them anymore! You can never get in contact with anyone from this company. If you do they have terrible customer service like Barrie Bennett. I am in a home I am paying 1725. 00 monthly. I can not get anything done with this company. I would never recommend them to anyone. I am going on my social network where I have over 38,000 followers to make sure everyone is aware!
After having the worst frustrating experience trying to rent a home in the Palm Bay area, I came across MSR and after few phone calls, the person handling my application LOLA BARNES personally called me, she listened to all the frustration I had, and took ownership of the situation, making me feel that she cared and assured me she was going to work directly with me. She went few steps out of her way, and in less than 24hrs we finally have place to call home. Is because of employees like Lola, that I intend to be a long term resident at MSR. She's a true blessing, Thank you.
Answer: Don't bother... waste of money for an overpriced house. Their customer service is terrible. They give you the run around and the techs they send out are not certified. Look like people the just find off the street and hire for a repair to do. My husband and I are currently looking for an attorney to get out of this lease. We've only been renting from them for 4 months and have had SOOO many problems with this house. Look else where.
Answer: Indeed! Integrity n honor is of no value with MSR! Hopefully they will re-evaluate their company and greed will not control them! No one has a clue of each other in the business system they run!
