Horrible. If there was a widely accepted alternative, I would already have left PayPal. They will never accept my valid phone number. So anything could happen, and no merchant can ever call me. Just terrible. Customer service is robots I think. I explained my problem, and it tried to authorize direct deposits to PayPal! Worst customer service I have ever seen. A record!

I purchased the advertised motorcycle helmet. I received a tin can push bike helmet from China. I filed a complaint. Paypal instructed me to return the item. They gave me an address written in Chinese characters, without translation. Australia Post would not accept the address. There was not way of contacting Paypal to get a proper address in English without providing a tracking code. Paypal cancelled my dispute because I did not provide a tracking code. There is no avenue for review. The vendor makes fraudulent claims worldwide, knows that the system is flawed, knows how to avoid the process, and Paypal support this fraudulent activity by complacency.

Without pre warning me that they decided to all of a sudden permanently limit my account, I still had access to the site and app. I generated a barcode through the app to give to the cashier at dollar general. I gave the cashier $150 to put on my account, she scanned the barcode, put the money in the register and handed me a receipt. After 4 hours went by an zero money on my account, I started calling. At this time they tell me that they limited my account and don't see any transactions. From what I read they can do whatever they want with your money and can hold it from you for at least 180 days. I was trying to buy coveralls for winter at work and now I may not see my money until summer if at all! Stay away from PayPal, you will regret it at some point!

I have been trying to transfer my money to a real bank for days. Their customer resolution has been non-existent. I keep getting these people at a call center on the other side of the world who literally tell me that they can't help me. The automatic help is no help either.

Paypal makes money by keeping people's money as long as possible.

I have used PayPal for about 10 years, as a seller and a buyer. I have several online stores, plus use the card reader for local sales. I have ALWAYS gotten a real person on the phone if I needed assistance with something, and they have gone out of their way to help. I even purchased one of those online deals to clean your computer, then when the wrong code was sent and I felt uneasy about the company, I called Paypal and they sent them a letter saying they had 10 days to give me my money back. I will never use any payment method other than PayPal!

I purchased two generators online and was only sent two strings i sent them pics of the strings and verified i did not get the generators i took screen shots of the purchase and everything and they ruled against me and wanted to pay these Chinese thieves Pay Pal cant be trusted their incompetence can't be touched customer service doesn't exist and they seem mentally touched with the nonsense they do! Nobody should trust this new out of control company with their money or their personal information They are 1000% worthless and corrupt!

Absolutely horrible! They limit my account asking for documentation when I received a payment for $200. What gives? Lately Paypal has been the worst processor, the only issue has been. Buyers have been ingrained with using them. That makes the more devious and an absolute failure for business.

Paypal is owned by eBay. They are both continually looking for ways to get more money from the people who use them.

Recently, I bought a membership online that defaulted to my PayPal account. I tried to reverse the transaction, but PayPal was not cooperative. Credit Cards work really hard to help you not get screwed by online businesses. They will cancel your transactions and open a dispute case. PayPal does/will not. They simply debit your bank account. Why not just use a debit card?

Great service

Honestly never had a issue but when i do its sorted very quick within a day what most people don't know is that when they contact customer service a auto reply email is sent if that don't help you then email back and ask for a human reply in which they do.

PayPal makes it easy for me to send money to family and friends in other countries, yes theirs a small charge but its a lot cheaper then my bank would charge.

If you want your account frozen and they keep your money until who knows when and be talked down to and be treated like you-re a nobody, then paypal is the place for you!

~Stay away, paypal is a joke as there are much better payment sites out there. This is the reason ebay loses so many people, paypal is so poorly run. This has been my experience with them.

The dispute process is a joke. I've been trying to get a refund for more than 3 weeks now... you have to message them... then in a couple hours they'll answer your message. I've went days without them responding... it's a total joke. This is 2020. Get with the times. No wonder Amazon is taking all of there business... I'd give them a zero if it would allow me to...

Paypal is what I use for whatever payments I'm doing (or accepting) on the internet. They are supported in League (which I play a ton), and I accept payments when selling from my records-collection on Discogs.com - I warmly suggest this site to anyone who wants to buy/sell on the internet - it's perfectly safe! :)

I've been using PayPal for awhile because back then, there were few alternatives. Lately, +1********777... they've been just a headache, holding money, suspending accounts and other issues making people's money less accessible. Security this security that. I don't need your security PayPal,+1********777... I need access to my money. Going forward, I will try every alternative before using PayPal. The world is screaming for an alternative.@@@@@@

Had a dispute with a company know for fraud, called Agoda, they claim to be a hotel booking agent, they change the dates and they ask for more money, etc, this is all over the web, so many similar bad reviews, classic bait and switch. Paypal did not stand behind me, I am long time customer. I cannot be more disappointed in paypal for standing behind a fraudulent company such as Agoda.

PayPal is inadvertently supporting a new type of scam that you need to be aware of, and that is the reason I have stopped using PayPal entirely and am closing my account with them.

Scam sellers are shipping something *near* your address and send you the tracking number, so that it shows up on UPS's tracking site as "delivered" to your city. When you contact UPS, they ask for your address and then tell you "That item was not sent to your address." They won't give you any additional information.

You then provide this information to PayPal, who opens an "investigation." They then respond to say "oh, that item was delivered, claim denied." You then ask them how that can possibly be and they don't respond.

Lesson learned, account closed, app deleted.

There is no way Paypal deserve 4 stars!
I have used a paypal account for over ten years now through my business unfortunately it was forced upon my by ebay. With a regular annual income of around £60k i constantly have transfers held sometimes for up to a week and occasionally declined by paypal. This makes running a company and using paypal very unreliable, the customer services have no idea why they hold my transfers and even worse seem they have no control over any of my funds and can never resolve it. The excuse is always 'a security check' and it can take up to 72 hours to process, i wonder why so many constant security checks are needed when sending money from my own paypal account to my own registered bank account? Its just a poor excuse to cover up the interest money generating machine they run I would not recommend anyone to paypal.

I made the mistake of ordering online, the only way to pay was through PayPal. I should have known it was a fraud! I did 1 hour later when I hadn't gotten a receipt! I contacted PayPal for an immediate refund! No way to contact PayPal but email. They denied my request. So far I've appealed 3 times, denied every time. I have proof from UPS which I sent in but they don't care! As far as I'm concerned, PayPal is as much of a criminal as the fraudulent company!

I have used this site for several years both to buy and sell merchandise. I have bought items from other websites and from e-bay quite successfully. They have worked well when something did not go right with the sale. I also have directed events that required registration online and used Paypal so people could use their credit cards. It has been great! We have even had sponsors contribute through Paypal. I have also sold merchandise and people have paid with this site. I highly recommend it.

Over the years, I have used paypal as a convenient way to pay for items online and it is very good in that regard. If however you think that paypal buyer "protections" mean anything, shame on you. On a mere handful of occasions I have had problems with an online retailer, the worst involved a website and a pair of boots (a review on that later) that literally took so long to get, that paypal felt the transaction occurred too long ago for there to be problem. The transaction expired. What the heck? If I know where the money's going, good deal, it the transaction is uncharted territory... Caveat Emptor.

After purchasing an item online and receiving wrong item, vendor was unwilling to replace/refund. I escalated to Paypal thinking "Buyer Protection" would assist in getting my money back. The vendor provided a fake address in Europe that was cost-prohibitive for me to return a 10 kg item. Paypal kept assuring me I would receive my refund and reimbursement up to $45 postage cost - the shipping cost was going to be over $145...
Bottom line, didn't get my refund, Paypal absolutely unhelpful. Will NEVER use Paypal again.
