I signed up located my inmate but Pigeonly never sent the mail. I've been trying to call for 4 days but no one EVER answers their phone. I tried the chat feature and I can't even find a person and their email doesn't work either. I wasted my money. All of the reviews I have read are horrible. They seemingly take money out of your account no matter if you have cancelled it or not. If only I could review this site with 0 stars I would.

Remember the word "fraudulent" you'll need it to dispute the extra charges you receive on your credit card.

There is NO FREE trial, I signed up for it… and it cost 34.99

Although signing up is easy… cancelling is next to impossible without reporting your card lost or stolen.

Don't waste your time calling the number they provide *******895). It transfers you to a robot sales pitch for some kind of medical scam.

They did provide the service they advertise, but it takes much longer than they claim, and you can't send your next letter, photo, or card until the previous one is delivered… which can take weeks.

I find it horribly ironic that a criminally ran service such as this is being allowed to prey upon, and profit from, desperate people that are down on their luck. Just another example of how severely broken our sad for-profit justice system actually is.

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT fall for Pigeonly. Use the US postal service, follow the directions at the applicable corrections facility, then send the mail to PO Box 96777, Las Vegas, NV 89193

It will pass through Pigeonly BUT they have to process it without changing you.

Pigeonly is guilty of multiple counts of fraud. They did not provide the inmate location service that I paid for (gave me incorrect information). Then they billed me several times a month randomly, for no particular reason (they just wanted more of my money, I assume).

They would not stop billing me, even after I told them several times by email and messages on their website to cease. That was in April-May, 2021. It continued until I had to cancel my credit card to get them to stop.

But WAIT - these guys simply won't give up with their scam!. Today I received notice from my bank that Pigeonly again tried to charge my cancelled credit card!

The people behind this fraud need to be in prison themselves.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid at all costs. You are much better off doing your own research through official state and municipal websites.

Highly disappointed that every single photo and postcard I sent got returned. What a crock of crap. They SHOULD know which jails and institutions accept their services. But instead they are greedy and just take everybody's money.

Tip for consumers:
Check that your institution accepts this company's products before investing in them. All of my stuff I sent got returned to me and my money was all wasted.

I cancelled my account July 2021, From December 13 until Jan 4 2022 they have charged my card $39.99 fifteen times with two different names. That's $599.00 and change that they stole from me, I'm on social security and this is the account my monthly payment goes on, I didn't just miss out on Christmas, I'm totally broke, I don't get food stamps or any other assistance. From what I read here this isn't something that's happening because a one time update or computer glitch, this is out right theft! I will get an attorney and I will sue for the return of my money, and the pain, suffering and hunger I've had to endure because of there "gross negligence" I refuse to be a victim.

After having $80 worth of unauthorized charges to my credit card, customer rep told me to dispute charges as she was unable to help me. Check into owner of company, he is a former prison inmate who figured out while in prison for drug trafficking how to make money from the misery of other inmates. He makes over 3 million a year at our expense and misery.

Tip for consumers:
Save your money and just use it to send directly to your loved one in prison for commissary or phone privileges

Products used:
Used reduced phone charge service for 799 a month but charged an additional $80 for who knows what? Even The customer rep could not tell me what the charges were for

Cathy, you are correct if you look into him you will see he was a former convict but you will also find out the difficulty of starting a business as a former convict is. It is ironic that because he was in prison he best understands the target market, however being in prison meant banks and other investors viewed him and his business negatively. Regardless he built a business out of providing prison local phone numbers for families out of state to use. That saves inmates so much money in long-distance calls. Helping the vast majority of inmates that are incarcerated far from their homes and family. Thank you for your review.

Joined pigeon.ly as they promised lowest rates for inmate calls. Surprised to receive first bill which added an additional $19.99 to the $7.99 I subscribed to. Customer rep was going to look in on problem but meanwhile I've received an additional $40 worth of illegal charges.

DO NOT enter your credit or debit card BY ALL MEANS. This company will illegally charge you even after you cancel your subscription. Oh yeah…and you can't remove your card until the subscription is cancelled so they can continue to take money right out of your account as if you won't notice or something. Did not get a single email or notification for any of these fraudulent transactions. Will never be using this service and I hope it burns to the ground. This company takes advantage of people with incarcerated loved ones. Absolute scumbags.

This place is so unorganized and inept. They have taken another $90 out of my account unauthorized by me, they have taken money from my account so many times now I can't count. All up approx $180 has been taken and I'm still waiting to get it back. They abuse there position knowing I can do nothing from New Zealand to get a refund. This company should be ashamed of themselves.

I cancelled my subscription in February, and so far, I have been charged $100 for services I am no longer subscribed to. Customer service has been no help, and I am STILL being charged, despite having been in communication with them for two weeks over email and having spent hours on hold with their "customer service." I would not recommend using their services unless you have hundreds of dollars to spare for no service and hours to kill waiting on hold.

UPDATE: 7 Months later, Pigeonly is at it again. They have begun charging my account again, 39.99 three times within the last week. This is a criminal company and they should be prosecuted for their illegal behavior.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! THEY WILL CONTINUE TO FILE FALSE CHARGES TO YOUR ACCOUNT!

This is so crazy I'm about to call the BOP and everything on Monday because the prisons are the ones recommending these people I'll get a class action lawsuit I'm telling you they took money off all of my cards. I still can't even get in there no one emailed me back Their phones are disconnected. I am surprised that the prisons have anything to do with this, so I'm telling you come Monday I'm searching into this I'm making the proper moves to get this $#*! taken care of to get them out of here. It's all a scam and the prisons are allowing it. I am livid. They messed with the wrong one this time.

I went through pigeonly to send a birthday card to my son paid twenty four dollars the first time. Then I let them bill me 19.99 a month but then I look at bank statements they took 19.99 out of my account 19 times I have called the first two people told me my refund would take three business days, the third person said 3 to 14 that's when I ask for supervisor Kate the supervisor has given me a big run around had me email her supervisor with no response from her now when I call gorge or Chris tell me she is not there she will call me back no response call back she is on phone. I am 56 years old I can't afford to do with out this money. I have been very nice when calling this has gone on for two months now.

Just don't use this site, costomer service at pigeonly is there just to give you the run around.I don't know how Kate, gorge,Chris sleep at night working for a company that takes advantage of the system.

Having a lot of trouble getting the processing on the pigeonly premium plan. Have not been able to talk to my inmate after purchasing the bundle plan n everytime he calls me to the given phone line it says it has no funds when I just purchased funds. How long does it take to be able to go through? Starting to feel like its a scam n waste of my money. Also happening with my photo purchases. Takes my money but says processing. Getting frustrated

This company is decent if you provide photos for you love one, however the phone number they provide you, does not work most of the time, i contact them already multiple times, i funded the account as well, and my inmate still has issues using the phone number as the calls don't come in at all. But if you need it to send photos without a limit, this app is good for the photos, and greeting cards.

Tip for consumers:
I recommend Pigeonly because they allow you to send images, letters, post cards, and greeting cards as well, but the phone server that they provide for you inmate needs more improving since from my personal experience, does not work for my inmate (Yes the phone does have funds, that is separate from the account)

The worst phone providers I've ever used made an account and added money days have gone by have contacted support with no help even after I informed them of my sick brother that needs contact with a loved one falsely jailed. Never use always miss leading and provide no useful help at all.

Good friend of mine got locked up so I started using this service then they transferred so I haven't used the service in over 6 months. Imagine my surprise when I see on my bank statement they're still charging me after all this time monthly. I've gone to the contact us feature of their website and numerous times and receive zero response. Would not recommend

Cancelled my subscription year and a half ago. All of a sudden i get charged 19.99 TWICE within 2 week period. Had to cancel bank card to stop charges. Can not get in touch with customer service. AVOID if at all possible. Crooks

Be careful when you search for these types of providers - I got linked to this very questionable company, got disconnected twice trying to figure out what happened, could not find anyone who could answer questions, and had to cancel because the service is misleading and useless to me. It's hard enough trying to get straight answers and signs of intelligent life from 5-0 much less vendors, so don't bother with Pigeonly unless you like the way the whole system makes you feel and you don't mind dealing with jailers and those who profit from suffering.

Get the facts straight from the facility and/or those with experience before creating any account with any vendor.

My daughter uses this scam of a business i will never use or refer to anyone i like. I have witnessed all the trouble she has gone through, waiting on the phone for over an hour hung up so mad, call back option never happens. I realize this probably will never be read by anyone in management, that alone proves mine or anyone elses valuable time matter.

I never write negative reviews but the one and only time I used this company was 3 years ago and every 2-3 months $19.99 is charged to my account. I have contacted them to have it removed at least 5 times and thank GOD my has them flagged as fraud but if they just add 1 cent you have to make another fraud report this is ridiculous and there should definitely be a class action lawsuit by now, enough is enough...

I signed up for a free 3-day trial and decided to keep the service since the pictures I sent were not received by the end of the trial so I was charged $4.99 as agreed upon then directly afterwards was charged $19.99 two separate times and had to call their customer service and stay on hold to have them say yes we incorrectly charged you and they gave me some crap about how it happened when they changed servers I imagine they make their money by doing this to people who don't have the time to call back for the refund of the money stolen buy them.

Those are fees that are automatically charged to Pigeonly accounts depending on your subscription type.The good news is our refund policy is simple so if you were charged incorrectly the appropriate department will correct the issue and refund the charges right away.
The process to receive a refund can be as quick as 3 days but can take as long as 14 days, depending on your bank.

I appreciate the emails and notifications. I'm concerned about the lack of information and explanation provided on website for specific services. Subscription cost and details of service provided is vague when I called to clarify I was spoke to as if I should know these things when clearly this is not something I'm familiar with. Still have no idea how many pictures my subscription allows me to send and unable to determine price of phone call from the prison through this subscription. Not sure what the details of the services I'm paying for are. Wish the information was clearer. I subscribed with the idea that I'll see how this goes for a month see if I can learn the ins and outs on my own as I use the account and if not I'll cancel.

I thought I would give this service a try using their $0.99 trial and then trying their other services that promised ease of use and affordability. Instead, they have charged us multiple times and their response time is very slow. In one month they have charged us almost $150! Even after informing them of the erroneous charges, they continued charging us multiple times! They sent a feedback link with two buttons - one says "you're doing great" and the other says "I have complaints" When you click on the first link it takes you to this online survey. When you click on the second link for complaints it says the page is not accepting new responses. How sneaky! Now I wish I had read more reviews before providing my information to these people. STAY AWAY IS RIGHT!
