They make the site look like the actual hotel site, then hide the fact that there is a $19 service fee. I thought I was dealing with the actual Choice Hotels site. I called back immediately after seeing the email which did display the service fee, but of course I couldn't cancel the reservation. I don't know how to convert the receipt to jpg so that SHOULD NOT make my review any less credible!
I made a 2 night reservation, and plans suddenly changed. I only needed 1 of the 2 nights. When calling Reservation.com to modify, I was told that a change or cancelation was impossible, due to the hotel's policy. I then called the hotel to verify this and they laughed at it. They said they had no such policy, and that they were happy to modify the reservation. I called Reservation.com back to tell them what the hotel said. I was then told that they would call the hotel to verify, but after ten minutes on hold, they told me that no one at the hotel would answer the phone! What a joke! If you reserve with this campy, DO NOT count on getting a penny of your money back if your plans change.
Like many people here I almost fell for this scam by clicking on the first paid link in Google when I searched for a specific hotel (Grandover Resort in NC) thinking I was going to the hotel's site. The face rate looked good but when I got to the screen to pay, the taxes and other fees were almost the cost of the room ($130). I then went on the hotel's actual site and saw that I was being scammed and the taxes were only $30 so reservations.com was charging $100. Fortunately I did not book it and I feel for everyone here who did.
I had a medical appointment and made a hotel reservation to see the doctor through this company. My medical appointment was then moved to a different day by the doctor's office. I went to cancel the hotel reservation and was confused by the message on the screen, meaning I clicked in the wrong place. Then I checked my email and found the confirmation that they processed the $19.99 fee to cancel. Then I went back to make sure I'd done the right thing and realized I had to correct it. The site wouldn't let me, so I immediately called the support number and was told that it was now a non-cancellable reservation, meaning I have a hotel room that I cannot use but have to pay for. Infuriating. We've just lost a lot of money. STAY AWAY FROM THEIR SITE!
I would give them 0 stars if I could.
I inadvertently booked rooms for a funeral through Reservations.com instead of the hotel website.
Reservations.com provided receipts with taxes & fees rolled up into one category & refused to give me an itemized receipt, they said I had clicked through that information while making the reservation.
It was obvious, as soon as I received the receipt with taxes & fees rolled together, that reservations.com was upcharging the hotel, with fees, significantly.
We have since stayed at the hotel, 2 rooms for 3 nights, and the hotel provided a receipt showing what they received.
Not only did Reservations.com upcharge through fees, they also paid the hotel significantly less than the room rate I booked.
Reservations.com "& their vendors" received 40.864% of what the hotel received. The rest of the money went to city & state taxes & fees.
I booked a reservation in a Canadian hotel in Trenton, Ontario thinking that I was booking in Canadian funds because I saw nothing to indicate that it was US funds. There was only a price beside the room. I didn't learn that it was US funds until I received the email confirmation and then I tried to cancel and they would not refund my money. Why would I, as a Canadian< want to book a Canadian hotel in US funds. It's a scam. Use these people at your own peril!
I book a 3 night stay for 397.00 and found out I didn't need the last night so I canceled it. For Modifiy my reservation I am supposed to ge back $40.15 back instead of 1 night complete stay. Talked about a rip off
Reservations.com is refusing to change an error that they made from a king bed to two queen without charging me for a full cancellation. This is outrageous service. I will never use them again
There is no point of using this website, the Customer support team don't do anything to help you and they're rude from my experience. Do
Yourself a favour and book through the hotel directly.
I recently booked thru Reservation.com for accomidations for my grandsons wedding, unaware my booking was non refundable, when I requested to cancel they were rude and condicending and would not make any provisions. I know they have some flexibiliy reguarding these matters. Beware don't use this booking site!
Reservations.com stole $400 from me. I reserved a prepaid and non-refundable reservation with Super 8 in NY. Due to COVID, the wedding I was attending was postponed, and I needed to cancel or move the reservation out by a year. They said they would cancel and request a refund. They never canceled in a timely fashion, and the refund took 2 months for them to request. By then, the hotel (unaware that I had cancelled or wanted a change in date) did not agree to the refund the reservations. Reservations.com said I had no recourse. If I had booked with the hotel directly, I could have easily changed the reservation or cancelled and refunded.
On Jan. 1,2018 we broke down and were stranded overnight in Blythewood, S. C. with 2 children. Tried to book a room in the Comfort Inn in Blythewood, S. C. and they booked us at the Comfort Inn in Bluffton, S. C. 3 hours south of where we were stranded. They refused to change the reservation and said they cant do anything and when I told them that we had 2 children and the temperature was 13 degrees I was told that they cant do anything. I ended up speaking to 3 different people: 1 for the reservation and 2 others to try and change it, none of the people I spoke to spoke or apparently understood clear English. This company should be shut down and investigated. Because of them I have lost $135.23 and have been told that I cant do anything about it.
When my conference was canceled due to the coronavirus, this crappy site wouldn't let me change or even reschedule my reservation for a different time. Every other travel site is modifying their policies even for nonrefundable reservations. YOU SUCK.
Scam. Do not use this booking site. Web leads you to think you are calling actual hotel incl. Uding picture Tells you hotel is full and redirects you to another hotel. No refund policy is the final kick in the groin.
The $14.99 processing fee was not accurately displayed until I received my confirmation email. At that point, it wasn't called out separately, it was included in the total. Also, the posting had that parking was included with the room, which was not the case. I will be instituting a chargeback with my visa card.
Totally thought I was booking through the hotel. They don't show you a total until after you book and SURPRISE! An extra $15 NONREFUNDABLE fee was charged with whatever extra stuff. Horrible customer service - they don't care how misleading their site is. Total lack of transparency in pricing and fees. Do NOT book trough this site. Lesson learned: be EXTRA sure you're booking through the actual hotel site, not with these jerks! We will never book through them again - don't cause yourself to go through the crap we just did.
I made a reservation for Comfort Suites DFW through reservations.com. What a disaster! Were never told about the $19.99 fee, but was reversed after they listened to the tape. Called Comfort Suites over 25 times with no answer. Couldn't get the shuttle to come for me. Cancelled the reservation with the representative from reservations.com, yet was still charged. Contacted customer service twice and was told a refund would happen, but never did. Dishonest company, dishonest representatives and dishonest customer service. DO NOT USE RESERVATIONS.COM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
I consider this as a squam! Don't touch that!
As a Canadian citizen, I made a reservation on their webiste for a Canadian hotel and discovered on the receipt that their price was higher than the hotel's itself but could not know it until I got the invoice that was in USD.
I called immediately but was told that it was non refundable. Their agents just repeat lines and barely understand what their are saying.
They just make money in a dishonest way, taking advantage of the fact that people do not read all the fine characters.
Never again!
We had to go to leave our hotel and go to the emergency room for the last night of our stay. Our hotel made notes in our account that they would absolutely refund the night we had to leave, but since we went through reservations.com, we had to get the refund through them. Trying to describe the experience that we've had to go through just to get $100 back is absolutely ridiculous. 8 emails in, and no sign of them having any sort of customer service whatsoever in terms of trying to help us resolve this. Highly doubt we will not get our money back. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON-EXISTENT!
This company "stole" $1380 for my reservation that was cancelled due to pandemic. After multiple calls & them 'warning' me not to go into disputes but "be patient & (they) would get me my full refund", they never produced & when I did go to my credit card, they told me that they would never give me back my money because I took it to Disputes ( who were also unable to get my money from them & just closed the case ( Citibank MC). Furthermore I was scolded by Nick who more or less told me that I almost caused him to "lose his job" ( couldn't explain why & frankly had nothing to do with thise issue. After speaking with Norwegian Airlines, they assurred me that thiey sent the full refund to reservations.com & so cannot help me from here. This company also seems to go under various aliases including "Flight Trade". Beware. This company is run by East Indians who may or may not even be in this country.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
