I was appalled to discover that this site billed my credit card for an unauthorized transaction - a booking fee - which I did NOT approve. When I asked for a refund they claim that I was asked for authorization which was NOT evident. It would have been cheaper to book through the hotel directly.
This company mimics the hotel website. If you book through Reservations.com YOU WILL BE CHARGED $19.99 even if you need to cancel your reservation within an hour of booking. When I found the TRUE Holiday Inn (www.ihg.com) my room would have been cheaper! I will NEVER USE RESERVATIONS.COM. Do not get ripped off like I was.
The $20 service fee was not disclosed. They took the full amount of my reservation out before I got off the phone, but my refund from a canceled reservation will take 7 to10 days! Customer service doesn't listen to the customer but reads from a script. They won't even talk to you about canceling your reservation unless it is 7 days or less from first stay date so they hold on to your money.
They book the wrong hotel on purpose, then refuse full refund, charge "non-refundable" fees, and refuse to return $$ until 30 days later. Gaining at least 20.00 per customer plus interest on the charges they hold hostage for 30 days even though the HOTEL cancelled and refunded their portion immediately. Then hang up on you repeatedly when you call to complain and get refund. Filed with Florida Atty General's office, BBB Complaints and VISA. SCAMMERS avoid at all costs! I give a negative 100 review
Do not go through them for any reservation. I truly hope people read these comments first so they don't get ripped off. I talked with someone on phone before making reservations and found out he lied about the full price after the fact. They do not back up what they tell you. In other words they lie to get a sale. We ended up paying $600. More when we got to hotel. They told me months ago when I made reservation that hotel was paid in full and we didn't owe hotel any money. LIARS. This trip cost me more than I wanted to spend on a hotel. Reservations.com needs to be investigated and shut down. THERE IS NO DISCOUNT WITH THEM IT'S A SCAM TO GET BUSNESS.
Their cancellation policy is NOT clear. Cancelled a booking within minutes of making it, thought I'd only be charged $19.99 non refundable, but the ENTIRE amount was charged. Do NOT use this company. I originally thought I was booking on the hotel website, then realized it was not. So cancelled and got a better rate. But Reservations.com is keeping the monies from the original booking. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Total scam,
After hidden fee's and conversion rate. The room ended up costing much, much more than it would have had I just walked in off the street without a reservation.
DO NOT USE UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY TOO MUCH..
I made three reservations through reservations dot com in August 2021 for one night in November 2021 and two nights in December 2021. Later, I realized I needed to change the December reservations so I called Reservations dot com in November to make the changes. They told me the changes were made but would not send a confirmation email with the new dates. I called twice and each time was told I would receive the confirmation email in 24 hours. It has now been one week and I still have not received the confirmation email. Mind you, the rooms were paid for in full in August 2021. I thought that was a bit excessive but chalked it up to COVID. Now I'm wondering if it wasn't just Reservations dot com. They seem shady to me. I do not recommend them and do not plan on using them again in the future.
I found out by accident that I booked through www.reservations.com as they do a good job of spoofing the hotels website. Thinking I was talking to the hotels reservation department, nope was talking to reservations.com. I was booking from Canada for a Canadian hotel and they didn't mention anything about the charges in USD and how they were going to charge me a booking fee of $14.99 USD. Go the complete run around when talking to them, some said I couldn't get my money back. Had to talk to my hotel and get instructions on how to get my money back which evolved making the phone agent phone the hotel and talk to manager. Once that was done then I got my reservation hotel charges back. As I write this still fighting form my $14.99 booking fee as they try to say they have refunded me all the money. Avoid them at all costs, they are horrible!
We reserved a hotel room in Hamilton, Ontario for a wedding coming up in September. Today, April 14th, we received a notification from the hotel, that the City of Hamilton is using the hotel as an Overflow family shelter! Pool is closed, restaurant is closed, etc. The public spaces within the hotel, will be used by Family and handicap Shelter people. We do not feel comfortable staying, now, staying at this hotel!
Reservation.com refused to give us a refund! We do not mind losing the $19.99 fee, but we object to losing the cost of the room at $232.26!
Any help would be appreciated!

They billed me for the entire stay immediately (plus a $20 service fee), but they DIDNT EVEN MAKE THE RESERVATION! I went to the hotel clerk in person, and he couldn't find it and said the reservation number was bogus. I called the company, to no avail. I emailed a demand letter for repayment in full (explaining that I was getting upper management in the hotel to assist me). They said they are working on it. The people on the phone have zero power (or don't care). I suggested that it might be in their interest to resolve this in a friendly way by just reversing the charge right away. They said I have to wait seven to ten business days. I assured them that I would be escalating things further if they do not resolve this to my satisfaction. Moral of the story: ALWAYS double check the title of the website you are looking at! And monitor your credit card charges frequently so that you can deal with these things when they arise.
Will not make any changes to existing reservation, non refundable policy things happen that are not in your control. Misleading the consumer, menu has opinions to cancel reservations, make new reservations, changes to your existing reservation, yet they don't do any of these things and will stress there nonrefundable policy and no changes false advertising, misleading consumers, aren't there laws about this
Thought I was booking through hotel. When reservation was confirmed it had $60.00 in over charges. What should have been $169.00 plus taxes needs up being $*******
I booked a hotel room thru Reservations.com only to get to the hotel and they can't access the reservation because they are transitioning to a new name. So essentially, reservations.com is booking rooms for a hotel that doesn't exist. A refund should be a no-brainer, but here I sit going on 3 weeks and no refund!
This website showed up when I looked at a specific hotel, as if it were the official hotel website. My fault for not looking properly. But then, the website would not load my confirmation. I attempted twice, but it wouldn't load. So I went to the actual hotel website and made a reservation. Had to cancel the reservation because the party was canceled, and when I did, I found out there were THREE reservations for that night- 2 from reservations.com! When I searched my junk mail, I found the emails from reservations.com, called to cancel. They wanted to charge me for both reservations, but they agreed that they would put in request for 1 refund.
So now we are going to spend the night at the hotel, even though our party was canceled, because I'm paying for it anyway.
I THROW AWAY MY MONEY! SCAMMERS!
I made a mistake... I accidentally booked the wrong hotel. I immediately canseled him (within 5 minutes) unfortunately I do not get my money back. Even if it is a human mistake. I called them a few times but they cannot and will not help me! In addition, you also have to pay a lot of fees after you made your booking! SCAMMERS!
Reservations.com or better, ripoff.com, answered my call to a Marriott hotel recently, not revealing who they were and let me think I was speaking with the hotel desk itself... little did I realize when due to an accident and dog requiring emergency surgery, i had to cancel my overnite stay. So i called as stated in the Marriott policy 24 hours before, really 30 hours before. Only to fin dout that resrevarions.com had tricked me an dhad made the reservations, bu the way about $90 more than the same overnite 2 months prior.and no refund. Forget their support, what a joke that is, they are nothing but a rip off.
We used them to book hotel. We ended up having to cancel our resverations due to work and myself havng back surgery. 9 hours in a car? I do not think so. We canceled 2 days in advance. Now, they ABSOLUTLY REFUSE to return the $320.00. We were ok with them keeping the booking fee of $19.99. How many people have they scammed like this? All of us should get together and start a Class Action Law Suit!
We booked a hotel room that turned out to be in total different country. When we called reservation to change location we got disrespected, rejected, hang up on, etc… by both employees and managers over 10 times. This is a total scam company starting all the way from the top as they are not taking actions. I would love to hear both founders and cofounders comments on the same Yatin Patel and Mahesh Chaddah.
There are other booking companies in the world. Do not use this one. They have a reservation fee that is not refundable if you cancel your reservation. Bad Customer Service
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at support@reservations.com so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
