A fee called Tax Recovery Fee on this scam site is ridiculous. The Sheraton site had the same nightly rate that the Reservations.com quoted but Sheraton's fees and taxes were over $100 less!
THEY CHARGE YOU THE $14.99 FEE EVEN IF YOU CANCEL IMMEDIATELY!. I BOOKED THE ROOM AND I GOT THEIR CONFIRMATION EMAIL, I SAW $80+ IN EXTRA FEES, BUT NO EXPLANATION OF WHAT THEY WERE FOR, THUS MAKING A $240 ROOM ALMOST $330.00!. I KNEW THAT WAS RIDICULOUS SO I CANCELED RIGHT AWAY, THE ACTUAL ROOM CHARGE AND SUBSEQUENT REFUND NEVER EVEN SHOWED UP ON MY CREDIT CARD STATEMENT, BUT THE $14.99 SURE DID! LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO CALL CAPITAL ONE AND THEY HAD IT REMOVED FOR ME. BUT OMG!
I booked 2 nights stay in Taunton at Days inn, showed £61 a night, that was good, as soon as I paid, the bill was £167, service charges, and other charges, I have been in a bitter argument with them for over a wk, finally after putting something on twitter, they refunded me £14.99, still battling for the other £30, for your own sanity, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
Never saw the extra charges until confirmation. Will dispute charge on my credit card. Didn't specify non refundable.
I booked a room at what I thought was the hotel's own website as it looked identical. I always try to book directly with a hotel and somehow was tricked into thinking I was at their site - my bad for not being diligent enough. I never received the confirmation email so called the hotel the next day. They had the reservation, but said it was booked through expedia. Luckily i was able to go back on my browser and see I had actually booked through reservation.com. I was unable to cancel online and had to call in. At this point I had checked my bank account and was charged twice - once for the room $153.99 and a separate charge of $14.99 - a charge originating from Florida. When I called I was told I would be refunded $153.99. I had to specifically ask about the second charge of $14.99 before they agreed they would also refund that charge. I was told the refund would post to my account in 7-10 business days and that I would receive a confirmation email cancelling my reservation. I am highly skeptical and will be watching for the refund. Avoid this site at all costs - I'm surprised they are owned by a reputable company like Expedia.
I ended up on their site by accident--I thought I was on the Hilton site when I made the reservation. When I tried to reduce the stay by one night they tried to screw me out of the fees and taxes I had already paid for that night. They said they couldn't just remove one night from the reservation they had to make a new reservation based on what was available now (at higher rates of course). I re-booked with HIilton directly then canceled this reservation outright. They still got heir $14.99 fee but they weren't getting another penny. These are scam artists and crooks who refused to let me speak with a supervisor.
As with most of the other reviewers, I thought I was booking through the hotel directly. I spoke to someone from India and we couldn't understand each other. It took 1-1/2 hours to make the reservation. He told me there was a $100.00 refundable deposit which I thought was strange. And that I could cancel free of charge. And, like others, I didn't get a confirmation e-mail as promised. I wanted out at this point, so after another hour and getting transferred to a supervisor, I got the cancellation. Nobody told me there was a $14.99 booking fee! I found that when I checked my credit card. They did cancel the reservation finally, but I'm stuck for a $14.99 fee for a reservation I had less than an hour (and tried to cancel sooner, but kept getting hung up on). I guess the $14.99 was what is cost me to BE MORE CAREFUL in the future and NEVER to use this company or any like them ever. I will only go through the hotel themselves in the future. The prices are almost the same, sometimes cheaper with an AAA or AARP discount. I am pissed!
The Marriotte website showed $148 on their website. I ended up paying $300.48 with this thieving company's hidden fees. Leave this site now. You have been warned.
This company is a fraud. DO NOT BOOK with this site for anything. There is no customer service and they keep you on hold for ever. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME if you booked with them. Call the hotel directly and usually they will understand. In the meantime, CANCEL ALL THE CHARGES WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD. My visa card told me this happens all the time and the credit company is usually successful at getting all the money back including the "booking fee" which they do not tell you about.
They should be out of business. I also registered a complaint on the fraud.gov website.
I booked a 1 bedroom through this company, which at the time I thought was the Westin Hotel sight, looks the same and I have book for some years. After booking I received email from Resevation.com instead of the Westin and the price was higher then I had agreed plus they had an addtional $14.95 charge and it was in USA dollars!
I was booking in Canada & travelling in Canada & was charged in US dollars, I never received an email confirming my reservation, so called the hotel directly to make sure it was booked, and at least it was. I called reservations.com directly 3 days prior to my vacation.
So make sure to check the link as this company uses the actual hotel that face page.
I have filed a fradulent claim with my credit card company (RBC).
Made an error in my reservation and immediatly called to correct the error, was charged $25 to cancel and additional fees to rebook the room. This company is complete GARBAGE, DO NOT USE THEM BEWARE. ALL I WAS TOLD WAS YOU ACCEPTED THE TERMS THEY HAVE NO MORAL COMPASS.
So Disappointed that a company would take this stance. NEVER AGAIN
They dupe you into thinking you are on hotel website. Overcharge you on taxes, add fees, no refunds. Worst customer service when you call. Avoid this website. I felt robbed and angry.
Throughout the entire booking process it said prices without stating USD and also the page before says all charges in CAD and I have screen shots of page of the transactions. The only moment I realized this was USD was when I received my receipt.
We reserved a room with 2 queen beds and even called the hotel to confirm. When arrived at midnight found the only room they had was a king bed and hid a bed. That did not work for 4 people.
Yesterday I made a reservation through reservations.com and today I called them because I want to change the room from a King to 2 Queens and add my Marriot rewards number. Not Possible! What kind of service is this? The worst I have ever experienced! DON'T BOOK THROUGH RESERVATIONS.COM!
They impersonate 3d party websites and take advantage of the fact that you don't realize you're not booking directly with the hotel. Good luck after that.
It's a shame Florida doesn't care: BENJAMIN & BROTHERS LLC DBA: RESERVATION.COM is registered with the State of Florida as a Seller of Travel. Registration No. ST*******
Watch out for the hidden charges. Not only did I pay higher rates than necessary for the room, I received a separate charge from reservations.com... no explanation. Looks like a service charge. I thought I was working straight with Homewood Suites, but this popped up and took over without notice.
Once I discovered the overpricing and the extra $14.99 charges, I tried to cancel the reservation on line. A pop up came up saying they would refund the $14.99 if I would not cancel the reservation. I was then informed on line that I had to call in to cancel the reservation. Of course I was put in contact with someone from another country. After multiple questions and verification information I finally was so frustrated I said just please cancel the reservation and confirm by email and disconnected the call. I get an immediate call from the same clerk that said I had to call back in and confirm I wanted to cancel the reservations. What a joke! Stay far, far away!
I am definitely finished with booking on line... not the first time this has happened to me. I'm going to call direct to the hotel. Wish I could give this a negative score. I see a couple of 5-stars... Reservations.Com must have done that themselves!
Booked reservation in what looked like the Hotels website inly to find iut it was reservations.com. They billed my credit card the full amount instead of a deposit so I called and cancelled the transaction, which was credited vavk to my card and now today there is a $14.92 debit from my account under hotels.com... I called them and they said they are a sister co. Of reservations.com and proceeded to transfer me back and forth theu there menu with no luck in talking to an American to resolve this issue...
DO NOT BOOK THROUGH RESEVATIONS.COM
I called customer service to resolve a duplicate charge Reservations.com made to my credit card account in the amount of $2552. 00. Res.com acknowledged their mistake but would not reverse the charge until they obtained a cancellation waiver from the hotel. In other words, they will keep my $2552. 00 until THEIR cancellation fee is waived - to protect themselves. They said they couldn't get through to the hotel so my only option was to "call back in an hour". Funny, I had no problem calling the hotel, twice, while on hold with Reservations.com. My request to speak to a supervisor was declined. After more than an hour and two calls to Reservations.com I had to give up. They only repeated, "I'm sorry, you will call back in an hour." They actually suggested at one point that maybe I would like to arrange a conference call with the hotel. Really? Reservations.com made a mistake, acknowledged it but refused to return $2552. 00. It's my responsibility? If anyone is reading this out there - DO NOT USE RESERVATIONS.COM. It felt like a scam. One of the first ways they wanted to confirm my reservations details was by giving them my credit card number. My antenna went up right away. This happened last night. Today, I remain without resolution. Terrible, terrible terrible.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They messed up my dates, never sent a confirmation email and charged my card. Customer service was no help - "said there is nothing we can do" even though the resort said they would not charge. They were a 3rd party vendor I got pushed to through Expedia, so be careful - Expedia is good, this vendor is terrible and I let Expedia know about the issue.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
