I went to book my hotel thinking that I was on the horel website and after our stay i am told that it was booked via this site which is an affiliate to expedia! Charged me 30% more as it was in US dollars and completely took advantage of me! WHAT A SCAM & RIP OFF - check to make sure you are going direct to hotel website and clear your cookies as these companies just scam you thinking you are on the official hotel website
Made a hotel reservation not realizing they added a $19.99 fee to a $49 hotel rate.
Called them right back and they refused to cancel or refund the fee.
Fees are HUGE! When I cancelled I was informed that they had already charged my credit card IN FULL for the 4 night hotel stay. Then when I cancelled, because it was the day of check in, I was also charged by the hotel for one night's stay plus taxes and fees! AAANNNNDDD they tell me the hold on my account could take 14 to 30 days! DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS WITH THIS COMPANY! I never will again.
I booked a room with reservations.com. I asked the agent who stated her name is Charm, several times during the call if I was going to be charged. I have booked several rooms in the past through other companies and I have never been charged up front, however I still ask whenever I make a reservation because things change. Also I know when I am doing business with someone who's english is not very clear, I ask them several times for clarity. The representative who stated her name was Charm was very friendly and stated NO you will NOT be charged anything until you check out if you chose to use the same card each time I asked. I hate that I did not read reviews before I made my reservation. I checked my bank statement and noticed not only was I charged for the room. A $19.99 fee were also charged. When I called customer service I was put on hold for a long time before the phone disconnected. I called back and used the option to book a room, they answered immediately. They told me it would take 7-10 business days to get my money back, I have called back a few times and there is still no refund. I also let them know that I was not told about the $19.99 fee, I wouldn't have even used their service had I known about that. They stated that they would send the claim to investigations so they could hear the call. Needless to say I haven't heard anything. This company is a scam and should be shut down! They are not worth star.
I booked a room 3 months in advance in a hotel where I have stayed multiple times and am familiar with the cancellation policy. Reservations.com charged me the full amount up front and it was not overtly stated that it was non refundable. When I went to cancel the reservation the very next day I was told the full cost is not refundable as per hotel policy. The hotel policy is 48 hrs in advance so im unsure what policy they were referring to. When I asked, the rep told me that is what she is to, d to say... hmmmm. I went on other booking websites and found the same room for the same price without an up front charge to my credit card and a cancellation policy of 48 hrs in advance. Customer service was nice enough but indicated they needed to "negotiate" a refund with the hotel. Ok, but then their system went down and I was told to call the hotel myself, negotiate a waiver, and to call them back with an answer. So not only am I probably out several hundred dollars but I'm also doing their job for them. This business is highly suspect and I do not recommend anybody use reservations.com.
The website makes it look like you are on the hotel website. They overcharge you and they hide that reservations are not refundable... Worst company ever!
I was trying to make a reservation directly with a hotel and somehow got logged on to reservations.com. I was charged more than $100 more than I would have been charged by the hotel booking directly.
RESERVATIONS.COM is a RIPOFF SCAM bunch of thieves. The FAKE their ID into you think you are reserving directly with the hotel. The reservations & fees I made cost 2.5 times of what was advertised and would not void the reservation without charging a
Hugh booking and a cancelling fee... I rate them as a -10 STAR for their SCAM business tactics. And not the 1 STAR I had to use.
I too booked through what I thought was the hotel site only to be scammed by this company. They took the money out of my account immediately which I know hotels do not do and when I called the hotel chain to check on my reservation, they said I did not have one. I had to call my MasterCard and get a new card as they were already trying to add on another charge. Unfortunately I have to go through the dispute process which could take months to receive a refund of over $300. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!
Buyer Beware! I looked up a particular hotel to get the number to call to make a reservation and a listing popped up that said the hotel name and to call this number for reservations. I called and booked the room and then later was charged a service fee for "their help" in reserving the room. What a joke! Talk about taking advantage of senior citizens! CHECK YOUR LISTING AND MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT SAY RESERVATIONS.COM!
Thought I was booking with the hotel, one I have used before for business. Looks exactly like the real website - so check carefully. I made the reservation, received a confirmation email, but when I saw the charges included a $14.99 fee and said non-refundable (which I know is not true, I've booked this hotel before) I started to question the reservation. The confirmation email was very short and did not look like emails I have received before when I have made bookings and immediately set off a warning flag for me. I tried to access the link from the email for cancelations and it never loaded. Called the company number, they give you the runaround if you get a person, and the pre-recorded message tries to convince you that your reservation is non-refundable and to give up. I contacted my bank to dispute the charges and block the company from any other activity on my account, since they now have my cc number darn it. I try to be very careful about online scams and watch the web addresses of sites I access but this one caught me. A reminder to be extra careful - online scammers are very good at setting their nets!
When I realized that I had booked wrong hotel, I called to change to a room in different hotel( same chain). Refused to change and tried to convince me that 1 day before arrival really meant 2 days. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I would NEVER recommend this website.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - NO HELP AT ALL - I HAVE DISPUTED WITH MY CREDIT CARD. THEY ARE AWFUL TO DEAL WITH. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE 2.5 HOUR OF HOLD TIME WITH NO RESOLUTION. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!
I was looking for good booking site. I did my research and found this awesome website. I booked my hotel without any hassle. The price was fair compared to other sites I have used in the past.
I accidentally booked a hotel reservation with this site because I thought that I was booking directly with the hotel (this is an imposter site and they disguise themselves as the actual hotel website). I noticed the error immediately after booking when the charge to my card was more than the website stated. I called to request a refund but they refused. My reservation was cancelled and they kept my money, so now I'm out $200+ with NO HOTEL RESERVATION. Customer service is a joke and they refuse to do anything to rectify the situation. DO NOT BOOK WITH RESERVATIONS.COM! I learned my lesson the hard way. I did file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well, but I'm not hopeful anything will be resolved.
How these scumbags are still in business is beyond me. Made the mistake of booking a hotel through them. The advertised price was 220. My card was charged 370. So I called them right away and they couldn't give me a reason why we charged so much. I said forget it I'm cancelling the reservation. The woman said sorry but we can't it's the hotels policy. So my wife got on the phone and asked to speak to someone else the no told her no and then hung up on her. Well thankfully the hotel was right down the street so I drove there and explained what happened. The manager of the hotel (Holiday Inn) was extremely sweet and called them to ask why we were over charged so much. So again they refused to tell the manager why we were overcharged. They then hung up on the manager. After about an hour of more bull$#*! the manager got them to cancel the reservation and refund us the money. However it will take 10-15 business days to get our money back. This was yesterday and I'm sure we won't get it back until day 15 if we get it back at all. I'm sure we will be fighting with them to get it back within 15 days. The bottom line is STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE $#*! BAGS! Holiday Inn is going to stop doing business with them because of this. I hope more hotels do as well. These people are scam artists and should be shut down. Absolute $#*! bags.
Omg, I wish I checked the reviews before booking with Reservations. Com
Tried to cancel my reservation and was on hold for 20 mins. Hung up and called back... on hold forever. Finally got someone and filled them in about my request. And then, wouldn't you know it. On hold again for 20 mins at which point I called back again. Finally got to a point where I assumed everything would be taken care of. At which point the guy on the other end tells me that I can't cancel because the hotel would not allow it... Strangely enough, I called the hotel first and they were in the process of cancelling my reservation when they tell me that reservations. Com will not allow them to make a refund and that I had to go through them. And that's exactly what I told the guy on the phone at reservations.com. So now he says that he would have to contact the hotel himself to talk to the manager. I was willing to make it a three way call but he didn't want any part of it. Anyways, he said he'll do his best but it may take awhile, awhile as in two days after my reservation. Obviously he had no intention of getting me a refund. Learned my lesson. Unfortunately it cost me $200. What a bunch of knobs.
When look up a hotel it goes to as the hotel reservation. They book my room in a different city. Called immediately and they refused to correct. Over $1100. 00
This company's business practices are horrible. They charge you fees for making or cancelling reservations. They mislead you into thinking your are clicking the link directly to the hotel's website.
I will never use reservations.com again! Service fee is non refundable. Period. I cancelled my reservation 2 hrs after I made it because I made a mistake. 19.99 per night.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
