This company bought out a local rental agency we used for our yearly family trip. After the buy out the yearly rental price for the property we have always stayed in nearly doubled in price due to their extremely high booking fees and cleaning fees. So thank you to this piece of $#*! company for being so greedy that our newborn daughter will not get to grow up enjoying the same vacation we have enjoyed for the past ten years. You suck!
I paid for my daughter to rent a house on Devils Lake for her birthday. When her and her quests arrived the outdoor kitchen area had signs stating out of order. There were green bugs everywhere with nests up in the loft area! The bunk bed was broken and came down! Thank goodness no one was hurt! My daughter kept calling and calling just to be put in touch with people all around the country! A guy showed up but did not fix the issue. The freezer was broken there was no book sharing the wifi information or the code for the heat! So they had no wifi or heat! We have been calling and calling and no one wants to seem to resolve these issues that we paid for this supposedly great home that ended up being a nightmare!
Rented a place in south carolina at the end of August that was awful. Vacasa said they would give me a refund. Trying to get the refund has been a nightmare. I have called several times about a status on the refund first call they said it would be 4 to 7 day before the refund would show on my statement. Called them back at 6 days the they said it was going to be 2 weeks. Now they are telling they have send a check and it could be up to 30 days. It's October and I still don't have my refund
Was told we would have to check in late because cleaning service was behind. Arrived at the home 1 1/2 hours after check in time and it still hadn't been cleaned. Contacted Vacassa multiple times over 2 days and no issues were resolved. They kept saying tickets had been made the local team was in it but so far no one has shown up or called. Vacassa NC has offered us $100 back on a $1000 trip. Don't rent if Vacassa is hosting! Hopefully airbnb will make up for it. Also home was not represented correctly in pictures and description.
Be careful Vacasa will add fees and then VRBO will add fees. So before you are done there is a very large additional amount you will be paying, enough to stay for an additional night. Buyer Beware! I surely will never rent another house that is involved with Vacasa.
I rented a condo in myrtle beach and upon arrival the condo was disgusting. Hair in the bed, pillows, tub, shower, sink, doors. Utensils were dirty. Mold in the tub. Walls had dirty hand prints. They have you pay a $128 cleaning fee and would not refund my fee. Would never stay at a place from this company again.
Mammoth is crazy scary to get in and out of during the storms so we tried to move our rental date to a higher cost weekend when same spot is available and they absolutely would not accommodate. I will avoid any Vacasa rentals in the future. Mammoth Reservations has always been amazing and wonderful and I will always make sure I get one of their places.
They gave no refund for the night that we slept without a mattress. The bed that did have a mattress had a sheet with a blood stain that went all the way through to the mattress protector. They were extremely rude, extremely unhelpful, slow to respond, and told us the only way we could get any money back would be to check out of our stay early.
I was going to get set up with them and they completely sucked. Fast forward to today (year later) they send some rude $#*! lady into my house that they gave the code to and I was able to ask her what she was doing in my house and she got an attitude and at first didn't want to tell me who she was but then said Vacasa sent her and was just rude AF. She then text me because I guess Vacasa gave my number and still continue to be rude. We thought this crackhead was breaking into our house.
Our room was filthy upon arrival. The floors still had sand all over them, there was coffee still sitting in the coffee pot that was never cleaned. Under the bed was filthy and looked like it had never been cleaned. There was some sort of disgusting stain on the side of the box spring of the bed. There was about four inches of dust on the filter for the air conditioning. The blinds for the sliding glass door were busted and didn't slide open easily and two were completely broken off and just leaning against the wall in the corner. I had to contact them multiple times about this issue and they sent two different cleaners and still our room is dirty to the point we don't even want to talk barefoot. Pictured is a towel we shuffled along the floor on from the shower to the bed. DISGUSTING! SAVE YOUR MONEY! It's a shame too because the property management at Golden Sands was fantastic and kept the grounds in tip top shape!
Answer: It's a monster scam. Avoid at all costs. I've rented several properties that ended up going through Vacasa - despite my best efforts to avoid them. You can't find out that it's Vacasa until after they have your money. It's a criminal enterprise.
Answer: In my experience, construction is their "catch all" excuse for canceling. Follow up to verify that it was rented, but for higher fee.
