I would rate them lower if I could. We are two retired seniors who booked a vacation. Both of us got a stomach virus at the last minute and couldn't travel. At the same time, why would someone want us in their unit with what we had? Called Vacasa first thing in the morning and was on hold for 48 minutes. Finally hung up and tried their chat. Took 20 minutes for a response. Just wanted to let them know we were not checking in and would hope they would let us take a credit for a future stay. They said no. You would think they have the sense to provide good customer service and find a way to work through this. But they were not helpful at all. Even major hotel chains are helpful in these types of situations. We are done with Vacasa and I suggest others use their competitors.
3 weeks before my ski vacation that we bought lift tickets, rented skis, booked a pet sitter, etc. We got an "urgent" message that there was a "maintenance" issue during our stay and we have to change locations. Well it is spring break, I booked the condo 3 months early because I want to save money and plan ahead. So now we have no where affordable to stay, the lift tickets passed their refund window, I did get most of my deposit back for the ski, but have no vacation planned anymore. How do you have a "planned" maintenance, 3 weeks in advance? I'll tell you, they most likely double booked the location and kicked out the person who paid less because they planned ahead. Or the home owner stupidly planned a remodel during the busiest week of ski season. It doesn't add up. I suggest you look for managed by vacasa in VRBO and steer clear.
All our Vacasa rooms for our out of town family wedding were stressful. No room keys were available and required multiple calls and follow ups. My son's room to prepare for the wedding with groomsmen was given to someone else and had to jump through hoops to get another. One relative arrived at midnight and couldn't get a room until 3 am after traveling cross country. Also only one key was provided per room despite having two or more occupancy - so inconvenient. Major issues with water - often no water or only cold water for shower. Avoid if you want a smooth vacation.
The rental house was in need of some repairs. Sliders didn't work without you manually pulling them. No solid instructions about arriving and leaving. There were three different messages regarding trash and no trash barrels outside. We had to keep the trash in the house and it was 85 degrees. It was disgusting. Called Vacasa the next morning after arriving and they were going to get right back to me. Never heard a word! I will never rent from them again and shame on VRBO for representing them. They have one
Of the worst ratings of most rental companies. Should have done a deeper dive before I rented. I'm done with both companies! More to complain about but to lengthy. Don't rent a lake house in center Barnstead, NH!
Rented a house in Lake Tahoe. They canceled while driving there. Never helpful calls to them until after the 5th call we found someone who could help. They made promises that they never kept. Still fighting them to keep their word. I booked this through Marriott. What the heck Marriott why are you using a service that even your people can't help you with? Stay far away from Vacasa.
The property managers do not care. Nor does customer service. Our HVAC wasn't working the entire time, they never fixed it. Unit was nasty, unsanitary, dirty underwear, poop, pee stains. We complained and only received refund on cleaning fee, which wasn't enough because we never got any supplies to clean with. Hornets in unit, and nobody came to resolve it. Then at the end of our trip, we received a false receipt saying HVAC was fixed and that "renter said there were no issues" This was a complete lie. Will never stay at a property from VACASA. Still waiting on a resolution!
Got to the home we booked and the washer was broken among many other things ha that we're not working such as the fridge and ice maker, etc. I called them multiple times and altough the customer service reps were nice on the phone nothing was done ever, no maintenance person was sent and we had to leave 1 day early because of these issues. It was a terrible stay and Vacasa is just abandoning you once you're there. Not staying with them again.
Mc, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. We are so sorry for the poor experience you had while using our service. We truly regret to hear of both the disconnect in the care you received when communicating with our team. Please know that this is not the high level of customer care that we strive to provide our guests, and we make every effort to attend to our guests as quickly and efficiently as possible. At this moment, we are receiving higher than usual call and email volumes, which can result in a delay in response. We are working to hire and train new team members to suit the growing demand better. We appreciate our guests' understanding of this matter and hope to impress you in the future better.
Ruined our holiday with a combination of an atrocious villa together with appalling customer service. Our villa was not fit for human occupancy, and should even be deemed unsafe. The sofa was covered in human urine, which caused the entire villa to stink. How the cleaner missed this, I will never know. The pool was contaminated with something that made it totally unusable. We were unable to see our feet when standing on the first step. Not to mention dangerous carpets, broken toilets and missing bedcovers. We spent 2 days of our holiday trying to get win contact with Vacasa before finally demanding that we are relocated. They offered us 2 "villas", one of which didn't even have a private pool. When we arrived at second villa, we found we were located on a building site! Works started at 6am and went on until 7pm. Their complaints procedure is non existent... they seem to take the approach of not "responding and hope it goes away". We will not go away Vacasa!
Our former agency was somewhat local to OCMD.
They got bought out by Vacasa.
It's been terrible.
They do not hold up their end of the contractual obligation.
Customer service is a joke.
It's obvious that they are a huge corporate entity that has no real engagement with owners.
It's like dealing with the conglomerate cable companies.
On hold for hours, inaccessible etc…
There are way better options in the market we are in and are moving forward with a different management company.

Don't rent from any property managed Vacasa customer service is horrible I left items behind it's been a week and they keep telling me they can't get into the property to find my item and they charge $25 the floors were filthy we had broken appliances and it wasn't until we said there was a flood did somebody come and address our issue. The money we paid to stay in this property at the door of crannies mountain was a complete waste. Beware.
Stephanie, we regret to hear about your experience with us. This additional fee helps us cover the cost of our employee's travel time to get your item to the post office and back to you safe and sound. We are not able to search a home while another guest is in residence, and must work between guests. We sincerely apologize for the cleanliness and maintenance concerns you encountered during your stay with us and our house manager will be promptly following up with our team regarding this. We hope to have another chance to better imoress you in the future.
Answer: It's a monster scam. Avoid at all costs. I've rented several properties that ended up going through Vacasa - despite my best efforts to avoid them. You can't find out that it's Vacasa until after they have your money. It's a criminal enterprise.
Answer: In my experience, construction is their "catch all" excuse for canceling. Follow up to verify that it was rented, but for higher fee.
Answer: I am not sure but for the renter (not the owners) the fees may be charged without full disclosure.
Answer: Bad bad bad worst service I ever got at a short term rental

Hello, Eve. We sincerely apologize for any miscommunication and delay in the service you received. As many of our properties have hard copy keys, we are unable to provide more than one key per home. We are working to change all homes to our smart-lock system to allow access without keys to avoid this issue in the future. We regret to hear of the inconvenience you encountered and appreciate this feedback as an opportunity to improve for the future. We have passed the feedback regarding the water on to the house manager to look into and address further. We hope to have another chance to better impress you in the future.
