I believe the purpose of this company is to string together merchants with no moral compass. This enables the logistics should they actually be inclined to honor a purchase. It also provides the support network for merchants who actively steal money from customers as a supplement to their sales, or as their only real product. I have dealt with them once and lost $54. My observations come from the stated fulfillment policies and communications from the merchant and the company.
First time using this company and I purchased parts for my Mitsubishi. While the less pricy parts came within 2 weeks, the most and urgent one came in 2 months. A month later than expected. I sent several messages to cancel the purchase and refund my money, AliExpress kept delaying and keep saying need to send an approval, not sure of what. I didn't receive the item to prove anything. It was showing on my profile a Logistic Error with no explanation. Bad communication, don't try them. One of the parts end up doesn't work with my vehicle and I had to purchase a dealer one as I couldn't keep the car off the road any longer. Bad customer service. Nothing like Amazon in which I use all the time. The delayed part came and AliExpress won't take it back as I had to purchase a refurbish from Amazon in which came to me in 3 days. This was the first and last time will used AliExpress. Not a good experience.
This was my first time ordering from AliExpress so I had no clue about the limits in reporting goods arriving damaged limited to 30 days. I gave Tina Huang good feedback BEFORE unwrapping the frames from their plastic wrap--I didn't need them right away, and waited to unwrap until I did. The broken plastic was HIDDEN behind the frames bases (that screw into the frame... see link) so I had no clue the plastic that covers the photos were CRACKED. 8 out of 10 were bad! Beware of AliExpress sellers and their policies!

I repeatedly contacted the support service via chat and survey - no help was provided to me, only empty promises of compensation.
I spent $ 28.95 and a lot of time talking with support in an empty - I received nothing - neither goods, nor a refund, Aliexpress appropriated my money.
Omg! These people are such a bull $#*!! I have ordered a projector. Which arrived after 15 days and in not working condition. We informed the same and they requested for so many videos which we have provided. But they didnt even help us. it is been 2 and half months. They dont want to refund the amount or they dont want to take the equipment back. They wanted us to repair ourselves. They have sent a video in chinese for the repair. Which we can not under stand. We cant use the standard tools to open it. So fed up with them. Lost the money. That we understood. So much time and money waste. We have bought a new power cord as they have suggested to buy since this is not even powering on. If i get a chance i would give them negative stars.
Seller asked me to cancel my order because the item is out of stock, but he did not do that.

Now customer support told I should wait almost a month till order expire to get refund.

They advertise escrow buyer protection, but keep your money when you don't get your items, or when items are broken, junk, or not what you ordered. They provide no real service as far as protecting buyers interests, they keep the money anyway. Unfortunately, i bought a lot from there at christmas time, things that i thought i could not usually afford to buy for my children, some of it i didn't receive at all, and some of it, like a google android tablet that arrived with a broken screen, they will not accept back, though it has stayed with the courier, because i open everything before i sign for it. Ripped off, they will not refund my money, they do not want to know. Do not trust them.
I ordered two things one quality was terrible and they refused to give me my money back. Second, item was with incorrect tracking number therefore given to someone else under a different name and I had evidence of this, Ali express refused to help or give me my money back! Never, never use this site, cheap cheap stuff from China!
I made a purchase number **************. The goods sent broken. During the dispute, I agreed with the seller 50% refund. Aliexpress joined the dispute. Without reading my arrangements with the seller, Aliexpress offered an absurd solution. I am going to send the goods back to China. However, the product contains a built-in battery and the cost of shipping is as low as the value of the goods... With this customer service I'm afraid to buy on Aliexpress. I think I will close my account.
I attempted to buy 1 item; entered 1 visa #, exp. #, 3-digit security code, order didn't go through, got message visa declined (my visa is all paid up every month, I have excellent credit); tried 2nd visa, again order didn't go through, message said there was "previously reported fraudulent activity on card". I called my Visa's. NEITHER rejection has any basis in reality. I gave 2 credit card info to SOMEone without being able to complete the order. WHO has my numbers along with 3 digit security codes?!
During sign up my address would not fill properly, I ordered an item and it was sent to no proper address, the item was sent back to them from Australia post, if I want my paid for item I have to pay shipping again, the company is the worst company to deal with. They would not accept responsibility for sending the item with no proper address, would have been a good idea to contact me to rectify address before sending.

I was sent an empty box and aliexpress paid the seller and wont refund when I had evidence from DHL the box weighed 16 gms on arrival. I have been through customer services so many times ans they ignore- this was hundreds of dollars I cant afford to lose and was to start a small business.
Made about 10 purchases. 6 were good... products lived up to expectations. 2 the products were disappointing. 1 the product never arrived. 1 the product arrived but defective. Seller insisted I pay return shipping to China even though AliExpress claims to have buyer protection free return shipping. Return shipping more than cost of product, so just tossed it in the trash. I will still order inexpensive products, but nothing more than $5-10.
I have had some good experiences. But it is a crap shoot. If you are lucky enough to find a good seller, its great. But there are so many bad sellers who lie, upload false tracking information, advertise items they do not even have in stock. Aliexpress does nothing about these sellers. The only way to contact them is with online chat. It claims 24/7, but I was only able to contact them once. All the other times, the service was not available. The rep that I had the misfortune of chatting with was obviously biased toward the seller. I guess that is natural since the sellers are the ones who pay for the service. I will never use Aliexpress again and have decided that Chinese are a bunch of liars and dishonest people.
They will not correct anything about your order, even if it is addressed the same day as the of your order. Trying to contact a body to talk to is impossible. The so called arbitrators seem to be in Aliexpress' pocket. My advice is to love America for its customer service. You will get what you ordered in the US.
I ordered a battery charger for a hand help air pump. I gave them the model and complete specs for the charger the air pump called for. Aliexpress sent the wrong one. I wanted them to send the correct one and had the wrong one ready to send back. After dealing with the worst web site ever for 2 weeks and complete morons in customer service, I finally accepted their solution which was refund a third of my money. I would give it minus stars if available.
I placed an order and never received it. They wanted proof from my Post Office, the Post Office could not track the item and the tracking number was useless. The Better Business Bureau gave this company an "F". Research this company before placing an order, the reviews and amount of complaints may change your mind. Be prepared to be out your money.
Well I must say that am most inpress about this company. The customer service is great and they ship your orders very fast. I was a little scared at first being a new customer but they made me feel comfortable by constantly updating me on my orders keep up the good work guys I am definitely a loyal customer from now on. Bought guitar. Billed my card. Never recieved. No phone number that works. Won't acknowledge the very same info they used to bill me to contact complaint department or file dispute or reach customer service. Say my info is invalid and my account never existed. Yet, they billed my non existent account for what is now my non existent guitar. Have tried every angel and avenue to make contact with Aliexpress and the seller. No venue of contacting them. They are simply criminals. Hope America bombs the living crap out of their country and destroys their headquarters and every thieving bastard that runs thier criminal operation.
I have a very good overall experience with Aliexpress since I joined 4 years ago. They provide a great platform to purchase good value and quality goods directly from the suppliers in China. I did have some heckups but all issues are small and Aliexpress have always stepped in and resolved the problems for me. I generally receive my purchases within 4 weeks, some times only 10 days.

Answer: I purchased 3 pair of van's brand shoes via different companies on aliexppress and all were true to size. The off brands are not, so you need larger than you wear. But, ask and ali will usually provide a size comparison chart for you to use.
