BOYCOTT CARE.COM

I recently got my account terminated by Care.com for no apparent reason. I paid to renew my background check after 1 year of having the account. Next thing I know, my account is suspended and it wouldn't allow me to search for jobs. After a month doing a runaround contacting the third party, Sterling infosystems, who does background checks, they couldn't find or reveal anything negative on my report. They then gave me Care. Coms phone number (which they don't have on their website, HMM SUSPICIOUS!). Last week I got a hold of a representative who also could not explain why my account was cancelled and reviewed my background check which she too did not find anything incriminating. She told me someone from their "safety department" would contact me after the weekend to handle this matter. Monday morning I checked my email that was associated with the website and it said my background checks had been done processing (even though they had been processed already for MONTHS). It had a link to Care. Com so I could sign in and review the report then I COULDN'T LOG IN BECAUSE THEY TERMINATED MY ACCOUNT! They just swept it under the rug rather than taking accountability or just simply explaining in detail why my account had been shut down. I just wrote them another e-mail which they haven't replied to yet, probably won't reply to. BOYCOTT CARE.COM! I am a teacher and a student, and part time I work as a babysitter/nanny. I am going to broadcast this to all the parent/teacher communities in my area. BOYCOTT CARE.COM! Reading their negative reviews online stretches back for years! It's unbelievable how they are getting away with this scam yet the BBB hasn't done a thing, probably because they get a cut of $$. There needs to be a huge nationwide lawsuit against them.

My daughter recently registered Care.com and received the following:

I appreciate your interest in sitting my son, here are some information about my son, Davide. He is 4 years old, he is a great kid, sweet, loving, very bright, engaging, love to explore his surroundings and easy to get along with. He also loves to swim, go to parks, walks and just have fun. He is potty trained, free eater, well cultured, well mannered, well behaved not allergic to food or anything.

I`m hard of hearing and can only communicate via writing, reading lips or text messaging. I hope that isn't a problem? I am an antique collector, I have a good sense of humor, can communicate well, easy going and love to laugh. Please note that I have a few applicants for this position but I made you our first choice so I wouldn't appreciate a waste of time.

It is a wonderful 4 day work week, Monday - Thursday. I will be dropping him off in the morning by 9:00 am and will pick him up by 2:00 pm or in the evening by 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm because i can decide to shift my duty to afternoon; if you can't work the hours, you can work during the weekend while I get someone else to do this hours. We will be lodging in a hotel around you but you can babysit him in the hotel or I drop him if you want me (let me know your preferred option). I will be very happy if you can get back to me with your total estimate for a month, so as to have you booked and secured prior to my arrival, as I am rounding off plans and allotting money to issues that should be settled before we arrive. The start date is early April. This offer is for someone of well mannered attitudes, neat, caring, kind, patient, good sense of relationship and who loves outdoor, so if you are interested in this offer, please answer all my questions below:

Hi Charles, We are a paid subscription service and not a free service. I'm sorry if you thought otherwise and therefore felt mislead. That was never our intention. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer.

Hard to keep up with.

I joined Care.com over almost 2 years ago, and I would say I have received 25-50% of my clientele with through it. The first client I ever pet sat for, I still sit for today and they are a serious blessing. I did everything the site asked me to do, and I earned the CarePro badge. I was never charged more than $20/month and I would earn that back with at least one new client a month. When I started, it seemed simpler. Now, not so much. I can't send my number through the messages, or my website, etc. I have to type it out in a weird format and that makes it harder to communicate. It is so much faster to get a call from someone than to set up a time and place to log in and take a call online. A lot of these clients are looking for last minute service. Another issue is there is a lot of spam. Most of the time, I can tell who they are because without any introduction they offer me an insane amount of money and are moving in from out of town, but it is very discouraging and a time waster to apply to jobs that aren't real. What really broke my motivation was that I would push it to get the CarePro badge only to have it stripped away each time within weeks. I'm the only one in my area who had it (and maybe they lost theirs as well) and it helps me stand out, but what is the point. The first time was from my first bad review from someone I never worked for and never even met. I responded politely, worked hard to earn more reviews then regained my 5 star status. Then a little while later it says that I need to respond to messages in 24 hours. That's fine, I have been doing that, but the Care.com in my area has been dead for over a month. That means I can apply to maybe one job, and if they don't pick me then I lose my ability to respond to messages and therefore, Care.com strips my CarePro badge. I have paid for a background check(that expires every so often and has to be repaid). I have 13+ reviews on my profile all but one that are 5 stars. I have applied to every job that is reasonable within a 50-mile radius. I am putting in the effort that Care.com asks its user to do and I am still being put down for it. They give you temporary rewards for a 110% work ethic. PLEASE, Care.com, help me help you. You're like the boyfriend who took me out a couple of times and now I just do your laundry in exchange for take-out Tuesdays.
