If you need your medications * Do Not Use This Company* 1) They said my doctor had not sent my prescription, she had sent it. 2) They then said they would expedite the order and it would arrive by a certain date. 3) When it didn't arrive, I called again. They had just sent it: the day that they said it would arrive - a physical impossibility. *Do Not Use This Company*
Customer service is TERRIBLE, bounced from department to department, can't talk to a supervisor, no one can ever answer questions, just never ending run around circle-jerk and never getting to the bottom of the problem! I have spent up to two hours, (TWO HOURS!) on the phone with these idiots and get nowhere! I ask a question of the ridiculously and ironically so-called Customer Advocates, they pause for 30 seconds, read a completely nonsensical answer from their computer screen and then are stumped when I challenge them to explain how what they just said answers my question! Complete lack of customer service or empathy for someone fighting to get life saving medication my Doctor says I need! They somehow get to trump my Doctor's professional opinion and refuse to provide what is prescribed!
They are cheap with shipping. Instead of using FedEx or UPS I guess because it cost more to get the medication on time, they use USPS standard. I tracked my medication. It sat in a warehouse 20 miles from my house for three days - just sat while I was without it! I needed it! I called and called Optum. I got the Philippines! They did nothing about it! So Optum used the cheapest shipping method and it's out of their hands, and they don't care! Oh and the USPS tracking system will tell you it's on the way, it's not!
Apparently they decided to cut one of my maintenance medications down to 1/3 of the dosage for no apparent reason. No notice. Took me months of back and forth between doc and pharmacy to even find out that Optum is the problem.
Selling a travel COVID testing kit and claimed that customers should take the responsibility of the delay. I got the testing kit after my international travel, and they refused to refund. The delay was not just one or two days, but was a week. Don't know how a company can make the excuse like this.
My brother has a controlled substance prescribed and he has not been able to get it my dad has spent hours on the phone making no progress and my brother who needs his medication he is falling down the stairs hurting his ribs is not getting his medication
I ordered two Covid-19 tests for 69.99 plus tax and was double charged by Optum. I have contacted them several times. They did respond but didn't fix the issue of the double charge. They suck! I had to go to my bank to dispute the over charge. This is total crap and shows the lack of customer care and service. Buy somewhere else. Avoid this fraudulent company!
Optum has the worse customer service of any health network. They refused to give me the names of pediatricians until my daughter was in their network. They have long hold times and refuse to hire more agents. They don't care about patients that's why they have horrible customer service. The CEO need to be fired. This healthcare provider isn't being properly managed.
The customer service at Optumrx is less than dismal. The phone waits are long. I have a secure computer at home, and I still have to get a text from them with a code each time I log into my account. Why? Why not give YOUR customers the ability to chose to have a code to login to their account. The hoops we have to jump through with this company is incredible. I am constantly being charged for my prescriptions before they let me know when my prescription will be mailed to me. Honestly, I'm just going to get my prescriptions from CVS. At least I won't be hit with a cost that I have no idea that is coming. I'm not at all happy with this company. The website representative told me after we chatted that I would have a small feedback to provide. Of course, she hung up on me. I'm done.
Optum Rx is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life and i just reached my 7th decade. Customer service is terrible, orders are not filled properly, need to follow up multiple times via the phone to ensure your order processes after submitting the order online, will not transfer you to a supervisor above level 1 to discuss complaints, will not follow up in writing on how an order never got processed after three representatives placed the order. I could go on but they are totally incompetent and they are a healthcare company - which is a joke. Can not send an email directly to them to outline the issues experienced that prevented the product from being processed. THE WORST!
I have been having a problem signing in on several occasions. It tells me my password doesn't match what they have in their records. I know I am putting in the correct password but I have to constantly change it to get in. I called tech support and all they said is I'm putting it in wrong. They refuse to entertain that it could be a problem on their end. So I will no longer use the website to order refills. I will have to waste my time and theirs calling in every refill. Very disappointed in their computer technical department. I may try the website again in a few months when they hopefully work out the problems. I am not disappointed in the other aspects of OptumRx, just their computer tech support department.
Just like United Healthcare, the parent company, OptumRx is NOT about customer service or your healthcare. It's all about taking your money, and causing delays in getting your medication. Watch for higher prices, especially through their "specialty Rx" program if you are forced to use that rather than have services provided through your physician's office. They are a poor excuse for a company, (as is UHC in general) completely disorganized and should be dropped from any and all employer-sponsored health plan. But, hey, for your employer, I guess they offer the cheapest way to appear that employees are getting "health benefits". If I could rate them as a "0" I would.
I work in a medical setting and this company will not approve a simple drug like Albuteral for patients, with no other alternative listed. DO NOT go with this company, they will not cover medication that is medically necessary! If you are someone about to go on Medicare, do not pick this company, your medications will not be covered!
My wife has tried 6 different anti-anxiety medications many of which led to horrible situations. Finally we found something that worked and Optum won't approve a tear reduction so that we can afford the medication to make her better. They want her to take more different medications that aren't going to work and keep experimenting to save them a dime while risking her safety.
January 19 I placed an order for my specialty medicine. I was supposed to get it a week ago it never arrived however they took the $40 out of my account on January 19 to pay for the medicine which I never got. I called the supervisor after waiting 55 minutes getting disconnected getting back on again and the supervisor send the medicine today and guess what no needles to give myself the injection I had to get back on the phone with them tonight 25 minutes on the phone again unacceptable
Do not use optimrx.
They are horrible. The customer service is non existent.
I get a different answer every time I call.
They don't make notes on my account for consistency.
I was told relion brand is covered. It us not.
I give this company a big F for failure.
OptumRX is very hard to use. They reject your refill requests and never contact you to tell you. This has happened many times and this time my doctor even tried to call in the refill. After being transferred 7 times, he gave up and gave me a new prescription on paper to send in.
OptumRX also gives you conflicting information. And when whatever they promised when you call and speak to one rep will be rejected, leaving you to call back and talk to someone else who won't help you, won't listen to you and won't let you talk to a manager. This kind of behavior makes me so angry. It's essential I receive my meds and when you can't get OptumRX to help you, you have nowhere left to turn. I'm only using them because United Healthcare makes it mandatory. They are terrible.
Upon repeated calls they were not able to help me get my medication in a timely minor. I had to go days without the medication. If something happens to me because I could not get my medication in a timely manor, I hold them soley responsible.
My doctor has called in my perception, then faxed in my prescription and they still say there waiting on the prescription from the doctor. Funny how the doctor calls the local pharmacy and I can pick it up the same day? I have totally exhausted my patience with this company.
I don't know where their call centers but it certainly is not in the US. So many calls, so many emails and I end up going to my Walgreens where I then have to pay full price. What good is insurance if you cant you use it. Their managers and executives pay no attention. I happy to see my company is not using OptumRX in the coming year.
Answer: They are a legitimate pharmacy benefits manager for United Healthcare, but their prices and practices leave alot to be desired.
Answer: Don't hold your breath - they are all about money - not customer service
Answer: You can send them a message on their website which they won't even read for days, so it's a useless feature. You can also call them at 1 (800) 356-3477 and sit on hold for 10 minutes before getting a person to talk to. In my experience, calling them has never resolved whatever issue I'm calling about, but you can talk to someone.
Answer: Only bad part of this united plan. Optum is worse than poor. They misplace Rx's and then lie
