Called in to get prescription. I was none. After a week I called back and woman said they could not even find the drug listed on my profile. Asked to speak with a supervisor. After being on hold for 20 minutes a representative came on and said they did not send the information to my current doctor but would have to send it to a former doctor
Do NOT trust this company. Azelaic acid 15%, a skin cream: $94 now, get this: For 75 days. What the heck? It's a cream. Optum lets you put in, 1 tube, 2 tubes or 3 tubes... or 30 days, or 60 days or 90 days...and strangely it stays at $94. Why? To HIDE the fact that there is NO one or two or three or 30 or sixty days...they are ONLY selling you one tube for $94. DO NOT BUY...go to Goodrx and find a place for less than 1/2 price. So CREEPY. Beware, check all your meds here with GoodRx
I have had no complaints up to now, but really not happy with Optumrx right now. Received a letter today in mail that they will no longer cover my chemotherapy meds as of January 2021. The drug Revlimid, which I have been on, has me in remission right now from Multiple Myeloma. And yes, it is expensive. I certainly can not pay for it. So hoping my oncologist can find a replacement that will work just as well as the Revlimid that this insurance will cover. If not, guess I am just out of luck.
I'm happy with the specialty pharmacy but the patient coordinator that has been assigned to me negates anything that the pharmacy does. She is rude arrogant and a liar. The people at the pharmacy go out of their way to be helpful but the coordinator never returns calls and if she does she acts like it's beneath her to talk to the patients
Their website isn't just inept, but it's designed to be intentionally deceptive, so no end-user can understand their claims structure. Here's why. They have a cost-based classification system Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3) for the meds they deal, but you'll never see this explained on their website and for good reason. Tier 3 meds are the most costly, and Opum Rx refuses to to apply any coverage for them, and will not apply any out of pocket cost to member's so-called "coinsurance' or deductible. The Tier system is not on their website, but their rep siad she would be happy to send me a brochure of the Rx's and to which tier they belong in. Not surprising that this shady outfit would want keep their bait and switch scheme hidden from members and law enforcement.
I have a prescription I am supposed to have daily.
Went to pickup at my local pharmacy, they say insurance will charge 400$. Online I can get three time as much for 20$ but it takes 3 weeks before they will even ship it.
This is a preventative medication I am supposed to have daily. This is not acceptable, switching services as soon as I can.
Optumrx is rotten garbage.
Update: They moved delivery date another 4 weeks out. I repeat, this service is trash.
I have been using them through UHC for 2 years now and i am done. This is the most incompetent bunch of people i have EVER dealt with. Every reorder is just another problem. Just moved, sent them 3 emails with a change of address and NOT to send out scrips to the old address...they don't allow you to change your address on your OWN account, like we are children. Well i just notification this morning that my order was shipped...guess where? My old address. They are a bunch of idiots in Thailand. She says she appreciates my feedback after i reamed her a new $#*!...and if i want my address changed to call another number. I wont' call those people if its the last place on earth that i can get meds. I will be getting my scrips from GoodRX. From here on... Can't believe how stupid these people are!
Very difficult and confusing process for ordering/fulfilling prescriptions. Customer service advocates are inflexible and not interested in resolution of customer issues. Escalation process is non-existent or deliberately obfuscated.
I'll keep this basic as I have the same complaints as hundreds of others based on what I'm reading on this site. Optum RX / UHC doesn't care about their customers / patients. Customer service is an absolute joke. You have a question; they say please hold for a few minutes and come back 10 minutes later saying they will look into the issue. You select at the beginning to take a survey and after the call instead of the agent disconnecting from the call, they place you on hold so you can't leave a survey response. Best thing is not to go with Optum RX UHC if you can avoid them.
What a mess. I tried to move my prescriptions from the pharmacy to optum and it went down hill from there. The initial customer service lady did not know what she was doing and sent in a refill request to my doctor. I didn't need a refill, I needed a transfer. I told her that repeatedly and she still requested a refill. Six phone calls later, and it has still not been resolved. And they still don't have the correct prescription from the pharmacy. Never again.
Answer: They are a legitimate pharmacy benefits manager for United Healthcare, but their prices and practices leave alot to be desired.
Answer: Don't hold your breath - they are all about money - not customer service
Answer: You can send them a message on their website which they won't even read for days, so it's a useless feature. You can also call them at 1 (800) 356-3477 and sit on hold for 10 minutes before getting a person to talk to. In my experience, calling them has never resolved whatever issue I'm calling about, but you can talk to someone.
Answer: Only bad part of this united plan. Optum is worse than poor. They misplace Rx's and then lie
