They charged me 2.5 times what they agreed upon. Customer service is the worst, they bounce you around, first telling you they will refund one time, then the next person denies they can.
This company is just ridiculous. Instead of actually answering a simple question, United will transfer you to Optum and Optum will say you have to call United. OptumRx will then, if you are lucky, answer a random question that no one ever asked, but only after its reps confuse two medicines with each other and one of them with an OTC supplement. They will blame anyone and everyone but themselves, if you can hear them over their barking dogs and crying children.
Optum Rx was supposed to "auto fill" all of my mother's medication. When it came to her most critical they did not inform us of any changes and never sent it. Finally it hit us it wasn't coming with only a handful of days to get the medicine and after talking to one of their pharmacists about this mistake they said they'd expedite it within 3 days. 5 days later, nothing, so we call again and they say that it was never expedited and would arrive in another 6 days after that. 6 days later, nothing, we call again and they say it'll be another 5 days. So we cancelled the order and closed the Optum Rx account. Bad service, lies to placate us, and poor service. I can't imagine people who literally survive off their medicine using this company safely! Stay away...
Completely incompetent company. They always claim to never receive refills from the Doctor when they actually have it. Often time this song and dance goes on for weeks or even months before they are able to find the prescription and mail it out. This happens EVERY SINGLE TIME! Even the staff at my Doctors office has grown tired of the games and Incompetence of this company. Disgraceful.
I had a new prescription sent in but they didn't fill it. When I looked on their website it was listed as available for refill. I have 12 bottles of medication ahead but there's always one that they don't sent until I call. I got so tired of that happening with one I just have it fill locally. They I get message after message that they haven't been able to reach my doctor. When I call him he has the date that he sent them in. You can't get a person when you call anymore, you leave a call back number. Twice I never got a call back at all.
Optumrx received my prescription on May 17,2023. I had not got it so I called. I got the runaround for the next 8 days wasted my time trying to get my prescribed med. I had to go 5 days without my medicine! They would not overnight it. They do express mail which is 2 to 3 days but not including the weekend! I am so disgusted with this company. I certainly would not recommend them as a mail order prescription supplier!
Optum is usless. Drug set for auto refill. Two months later no Rx said they sent request and then they just ignored it. Made manual request from them. They show no record. Totally usless company will be switching from United Health so I dont have to deal with this Rx Company
Website is never up-to-date, customer service is horrible. Notes are never taken when calls are made resulting in multiple calls about the same prescription. Dr. Contact is made by fax (?) and there isn't follow-up resulting in late refills.
If I could give a negative 1 I would. Its so easy to switch to OptumRx but absolutely impossible to switch back. I have an order for 3 of my meds. One took 4 days to get to shipping. Hopefully I get it soon. One is out of stock and cancelled and you can't talk to a human without extreme effort. I'm still working on getting that med. The third needed approval from my provider and after 3 days of no contact to my provider from these ****, I called my provider and asked them to send approval to my local pharmacy and I actually was able to pick up those meds today.
The system has a malfunction and I can't even get my metformin for my diabetes with an override at the pharmacy. I got it but it took 4 hours at the pharmacy
Optum is terrible I will stop this mail order.

Answer: They are a legitimate pharmacy benefits manager for United Healthcare, but their prices and practices leave alot to be desired.

Answer: You can send them a message on their website which they won't even read for days, so it's a useless feature. You can also call them at 1 (800) 356-3477 and sit on hold for 10 minutes before getting a person to talk to. In my experience, calling them has never resolved whatever issue I'm calling about, but you can talk to someone.
