Scam artist duplicating official reservation site of the hotel as close as possible and burried in fine print is a $20 non refundable service fee. Ripoff central
I also thought I was booking through holiday inn they promised me my pet could stay and a ground floor room I get there and no pets no ground floor I call reservation. Com and I'm told my refund is not guaranteed I called my bank and filed a fraud complaint. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.
Easy to book with, but know I know why they needed all of my credit card info, called back the next day to cancel, because we realized we weren't going to be in the area and they refused to refund, said it was non refundable for any reason. We will NEVER EVER USE RESERVATIONS. COM! I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. THEN THEY CANCELED MY RESERVATIONS AND WILL POCKET MY MONEY AND REBOOK THE ROOMS FOR THE SAME AMOUNT, BEWARE OF SCAMMING!
My large organization booked a group rate for the Institute of Healthcare Improvement Conference in Orlando Florida, Marriott. I was booked for this conference and hotel, however had to cancel about a month before the conference. I was charged $1,235 to my personal credit card for apparently a cancellation fee as somehow according to hotel reservations, my reservation was booked outside of the group. Not sure how this error happened, but everyone including the hotel had this cancellation way in advance. One can see my organization was a group rate, and I was somehow booked outside this group. Also IHI is a national healthcare conference. I can't imagine they would do business with a company that would not give refunds. My organization and myself have been on the phone multiple times with hotel reservations. They say their middle man, Hotel Partners, has reviewed and declined our refund request. I haven't been able to speak with anyone higher than the gentleman on the phone who was very nice, but unable to help. I would just like hotel reservations to know my organization as well as the IHI and anyone we do business with in the future will work directly with the hotel. I feel like someone made money off of an error. Just poor business in my opinion. Denise
This company DOES NOT deserve 1 star, but there is a price for everything isn't there? Planning our Anniversary weekend and we chose a hotel near the venue we were wanting to see music at. Unbenonced to us... this is a 3rd party company PRETENDING to be the actual business you are trying to contact. They add fees and hang up on you REPEATEDLY when you try to hold them accountable, call them on their BS and demand your situation be rectified. I am red penning you in more places than here, bet your bottom dollar on it! SHAME ON YOU! Your company RUINED what should have been a pampered weekend of extravagance.
Booked two nights with these crooks and got to motel to only have one night actually booked which means I had to come out the pocket AGAIN. Reported it to them yet my money was never refunded.
As other people have commented, I was grossly misled that I had to book through reservations.com in order to get the hotel I wanted. Half way through the call, the lying woman on the phone changed the amount of my room I then hesitated and said I would call back to confirm, I was bullied and lied to about having to book through them. I was NOT told there was also a $19.99 non-refundable fee. What I was told was for $2.00 more, my reservation would be FULLY refundable. I reluctantly caved to the bully and made the reservation. HOWEVER I ended up finding the actual number to the hotel and called to make my own reservation,$45 cheaper. I confirmed with them that they do NOT require, nor endorse, reservations.com. I called reservations.com back and cancelled.
I was advised it would take 10-15 days to refund my card. BULL! I checked my online account and low and behold, THAT is when I saw the $19.99 separate charge. I immediately called back and was very aggressive about NOT being charged the $19.99 and was lied to again and said they would refund once as a courtesy. Followed up the next day and the charge went from pending to debited against my account. Called again and was assured it would be credited back. Scammer, liars, and thieves
CONTACT YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! THEY TRIED TO SCAM US! WE CONTACTED OUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND OPENED AN INVESTIGATION AND THE CHARGES ARE REMOVED. Customer service here is a joke and this company is fraud. STAY AWAY!
This company Reservations.com pops up on Canadian sites without identifying itself. I was on a Hampton Inn and Suites site in Barrie. Ont. Canada and was in the process of booking a room for 135.00 Cdn when a pop up with the hotel name and 106.00 per nt for 2 queen beds exactly as I needed. Asked reservation clerk if that is possible she said yes but they said I would have to book online to get that deal. In the end it cost 367.00Canadian plus $21 Cdn booking fee for two nights. This was considerably above the pop up rate of $106 per nt with no mention of a booking fee and which did not mention US or Canadian funds. They are an Expedia affiliate because it was Expedia who paid Hampton Inn and Suites 120.08 Cdn per nt. I immediately contacted my Visa fraud Dept, The Restitution Officer told me she only books direct because she gets many calls like mine and the rest of you a day. This goes for Airline flights, Hockey, Baseball, Basketball and Concerts tickets. Book Direct. My Visa refunded me the difference as an act of goodwill as a one time thing.
SO MANY THINGS. I don't even know where to start. FIRST they have redirect software so that when you think you are booking through a hotel directly you aren't because it has redirected you to their site. You can barely understand anyone who answers their customer service line. 19.99 NON REFUNDABLE FEE for nothing! My reservation has been cancelled since Feb 7th. It's MAY 20th and still no refund. Call them and they say it is refundable but they can't refund because a dispute. YEAH its being disputed because there hasn't been a refund. WORST COMPANY. SCAM ARTISTS. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. They pretend they are giving you the best rate when you can literally get a better rate by just calling the hotel directly.
Service is OK. First time I've booked with resarvations.com and I am impressed. You can be as vague or as particular as you like. Are on my favorites list.
Do not use this company for any bookings. They show you a price then after you pay they add on 'taxes'. No telephone numbers, online global company so have you over a barrel.
I called the reservation number thinking I was calling the Days Inn Reservation number. I was trying to book two rooms. The gentleman (whom I had a difficult time understanding, probably because he was in the Philippines), quoted me a fee. When I questioned the fee because it was higher than my sister just booked a room for, he stated her fee was without taxes and service fees... sounded legit. He asked for my credit card number to hold the rooms. I specifically stated that I DID NOT want my card charged because I would be paying cash for the rooms. He stated he just needed the number to hold the rooms... again, sounded legit. After booking, I spoke with my sister and found out she received a price much lower than mine by going through booking.com. My thought was that booking.com would be cheaper than the Days Inn site because they were working with a larger number of rooms, so I went ahead and booked an additional two rooms through booking.com and got my rooms cheaper. Immediately called the number I initially booked the rooms with (in the Philippines) to cancel and was told there was a $14.99 fee! NO WHERE on the initial website did it show a fee. As a matter of fact, I had to search for it on my confirmation email (which I received AFTER my initial booking). This is a total scam... they say it will take 10-15 business days to receive my refund! They charged my card even though I never authorized it and was insistent that they do not use my card. I will be fighting this charge with them and will authorize my credit card company NOT to pay them.
We booked 2 hotels and charged us 4 times. And one hotel is not the one we agreed upon... avoid this RESERVATION.COM. And they will hang up for 30 min if you call then for refund
I'm usually very careful not to use a booking agent and always call the hotel which is what I thought I did while traveling on the road today. I Google searched, and it appeared to be the actual hotel. I asked repeatedly if it was because he was somewhat rushed and rude(1st hit of a problem). He repeatedly assured me that this was in fact Laquinta & Wyndham. He also said there was only one room left at this location, completely false on everything.
I was charged a $14.99 booking fee which was included in the rate he quoted but explained as hotel tax. It actually was a separate transaction on my credit card. The amount for the actual room was less than that, probably what they pay out? He also wouldn't honor my AAA discount... another obvious tipoff.
Hotel was prepaid upon my arrival and completely dead, not at all sold out...
So far my rush to book didn't amount to too big of a RIP off compared to what I'm reading but I feel that they now have my info, including email. I have alerted my credit card company to their shady practices and am on the lookout for any other charges.
Be aware and follow your intuition!
I accidentally used them for a reservation that I had to change I have to go through hoops to get it changed and then they say they won't refund me. Do not give them any business.
I totally failed to pick the right dates when I booked my hotel in Italy. Customer service worked with me and the hotel, despite a bit of a language barrier, to rectify the situation. Much obliged!
Hi I had made a reservation and had to cancel it as i ended up in hospital called them and had been on the phone all day when I got really angry because they couldn't give me a straight answer to where my money is coming back or not I had ended up having no confirmation number as my computer Froze on me so today they couldn't find my email address as I had already given them it
Zero stars. Tried to book a room at the Marriott. Reservations.com came up as as sponsored ad. I learned my lesson to never book off a third party site again. First of all the room price seemed aligned to the rate we normally pay for a night stay at this hotel. The site auto populated to Canada - knew we were located in Canada. Anyway I booked the room. 5 minutes later I notice a booking confirmation email that lists everything in USD. So my $250 room was now $345 USD (we normally pay around $225 CAD for this room). So I called immediately. And I spoke to two very rude customer service agents who refused to refund me (and one actually mocked me). The cancellation policy on their site said that if I cancelled within 4 days before the date of travel I would have to pay for a full night's stay (nothing about not being able to cancel before then). My confirmation email said that I could have cancelled before May 28th with no penalty (not helpful as I booked the Reservation on June 1st and couldn't go back in time). So today I get another email back from them saying that they've looked at my case and stand by their decision (that I was in the wrong) and will not refund me. So now this mother of two young kids, full time job, needs to spend more time disputing this with my credit card company (who already assured me there would be no issue as this company is not legally supposed to operate this way). Unfortunately I have had to cancel my credit card as I do not want these fraudsters to have my credit card details. This means a week without a credit card and an hour or two setting my direct deposits again. This mistake will end costing me 7 hours of my time in the end. This company is a scam.
I was looking for a hotel, I clicked on this site, to see availability... I did not reserve a room thru them nor did I book a reservation. But I was charged on my credit card $14.99 for a reservation, then $93.67 for a room somewhere that I never got or stayed in. I am working with my credit card company now to try and get charges removed.
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM... DO NOT CLICK ON THEM OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED!
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at support@reservations.com so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
