Nice experience with reservations.com. Its very useful site and easy to use. My booking experience is good and i am fully satisfied with customers services.
In June I booked a stay at Best Western Edgewater Resort in Sand Point ID. I initially logged into Best Western, but at some point in the process, Reservations.com hijacked the process(problem 1). For the 2 night stay the charged me a room amount of 539.98 and 144.53 Taxes/ Fees. This all part of their "Save Big on your hotel. Book Now" web banner.
Upon checkout of the hotel, the actual charged(and what Reservations.com reimbursed the hotel) were $458.98 for the room(15% lower than Reservations.com charged me) and $68.84 taxes and fees(53% less than what Reservations.com collected). Oh, and that was on top of their $19.99 service fee which i knew about up front and have no issue with... To overcharge me a total of $156.79 and pocket the difference is a SCAM.
I wrote their customer service team to give them a chance to "do the right thing" and they sent me a reply that their agreement says all charges are final... and they explained "hotel rates fluctuate" and the hotel must have offered discount rates during my stay... Isn't it oddly coincidental that the"discount rate" was EXACTLY what Reservations.com reimburse the hotel for the stay?
This is a Florida based company, with a very clever, agreement... i should have taken time to read the fine print.
I also find it interesting that their OWN website... lists customer sat at 4.8 based upon 48 reviews... very different than the 1.6 star rating on this site based upon 1739 reviews.
I booked a hotel room for Thanksgiving. They took my money in full and refused to give me the hotel accommodations and did not refund my money. This company is a scam.
DON'T EVER sign up with these people! They will lie to you and do whatever it takes to get your money! They're all about mind games and taking your money! They suck!
This is absolutely the worst website I have ever booked through, I booked ONE room and this website charged and booked me for two rooms, after speaking to there awful and rude customer service representative she told me that nothing could be done and that I just must have clicked the confirm button twice which I absolutely did not do. They refused to refund me and after telling me nothing could be done they hung up on me. I am absolutely appalled and disgusted by this company and thier completely unprofessional service reps who don't care about anything. NEVER BOOK THROUGH THIS WEBSITE.
I googled a hotel to make a reservation and actually got reservation. Com‘s website made to look like the hotel's website. I thought I was booking through the hotel but instead was speaking to somebody from Reservations.com... it was hard to tell because they had a heavy accent and were talking very fast. I had to repeat things several times and ask them to repeat things several times. I asked if my total price was including everything and was made to believe it did. After receiving an email confirmation the pet fee I had inquired about several times actually was not included, and I was also paying them an additional reservation fee. They are not clear with their information they just want to rush you through the sale. And of course it's the last room available and nonrefundable. I called back and they said that they will investigate but of course that will take at least 15 or more days and by then there will be no rooms available at this hotel because it's a holiday weekend. Great customer service reservations.com... I will look up the hotel number in the phonebook if I have to next time to avoid ever having to use you again.
If I could give zero stars, I would. I WOULD STAY AWAY!
First of all, the site is designed to make it look like you are booking directly through the hotel, when in fact you are booking through this random US company. Look at all the reviews online and you'll see that this is a common complaint.
Secondly, the company says that their policy is to not charge a cancellation fee, and yet I was charged $14.99 US. The fee is disguised as company fee, but the company is effectively just toying with words. I was effectively charged a cancellation fee of $14.99 US.
I am a Canadian and I was booking a Canadian hotel. Yet the transaction was processed in US dollars. In no universe does this make sense. The company needs to figure out a way to process in Canadian dollars or it needs to make a welcome exit from the Canadian market.
If you try to contact their online support, which they proudly advertise, you'll be met with someone who can provide almost no assistance. Instead, they tell you that you need to call their phone support. Looks to me like the hurdle of being put on hold and navigating their phone system was put in place to dissuade people from contacting them with issues.
Do not use, you think you are booking directly with hotel then you find out it is these $#*! clowns charging you in USD to make it look cheaper. Horrible and will not refund your money! BEWARE
I wanted to book a one night stay at a hotel in mississauga ontario, i was searching for the best rates on the actual hotel site but suddenly was redirected to reservations.com not knowong this was in USD as nowhere visible did it say on the page i went on with booking my stay to findout after entering my info for oayment that this was un USD. On top of this i was charged service fees... called and customer service was just unhelpful and rold me there was nothing they can do... i will make sure noone EVER gets scammed by reservations.com like i did... be careful make sure you read carefully and check your URL when booking anything... i live in Canada why would i book from a US site is why i told them but they dis not care to give me a full refund of all costs, including the service fee, along with cancellation of the reservation... they did NOT care and here i am stuck paying 60 dollrs more than i should have
Thought I was booking direct with a hotel, but they were working with reservations.com.
I literally typoed the date.
There was no way to tell that the booking was not changeable or refundable until I tried to change it less than 2 hours after making it.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. They charge $14.95 and won't change a booking that was made ten months in advance. I have never been treated like this before. I'm talking to the hotel and will be trying to convince them to change services. I love that hotel, but may not book with them again until/unless they do, and will certainly be biased against hotels I find using them to provide their booking services in the future.
I travel enough to know that this isn't standard practice and I already know it's not the hotel's policy. In fact, at least their receptionist didn't even know reservations.com was doing this to their customers. They aren't just ripping off customers.
They're ripping off hotels, by offering a service and then treating those who use it so terribly they won't come back.
Reservations.com is one of the best Third Party agency that will give you full service, Customer Service gives them the best SERVICE as far as they can. Reservations.com is not a SCAM, as long as they reserve or book you a hotel room and they give you a confirmation they did there JOB very well. Just to educate every body we have to read all the policy of the property and all the things that listed before you reserve and not commit mistake and throw it to RESERVATION.COM
I traveled for work, and I never been scammed as these liars did.
This case, I went from one customer to another and had no reservation. I goggled for Holiday Inn Express and got their number. I called and asked if this is Holiday Inn reservation, the liar said yes, and I thought it was the Holiday Inn central reservation. She gave me a rate of $86/night, plus taxes. I was not sure how long I was going to stay, since I did not get a chance to assess the amount of work I had to do. I asked about cancellation and early departure policy. The liar told me that I can cancel all within 24 hours, and no issues with early departure, so I said, lets make it for 7 nights, so I won't have to call back. At night, I got to the hotel, and found out this was a prepaid package, and the hotel has no control over it. I immediately called them to cancel it, they say NO. I asked about early departure, they said NO, we won't reimburse you. They advised me to read their Terms and Conditions, but since I booked the hotel on the phone, I did not have a way to read these prior to the booking, and I had to rely on the agent ethics.
I had to leave the hotel next day. The hotel charged me $73.60 and these crocks charged my visa for another $755.83 for one night of stay. My employer won't reimburse me for that amount. Still trying to work with my visa to get my money back. I made at least 20 phone calls, write emails, they don't want to hear it.
They show you the price in Canadian dollars and charge US... Also the fees are too high. I called them to have a refund of the difference and she told me that they reserve the right to bill in US.
I would give 0 if I could. I am a courier and was dispatched a delivery ten hours away. I googled hotels in the area, I found one that looked reasonable - $139 a night. I called the number, believing I was calling the hotel, but it was this company. The first guy I spoke with was nice, took my information down, and made my reservation. I got an email confirmation that only then showed USD. I am from Saskatchewan booking in Alberta and assumed it would be Canadian. I called back, but because the reservation was for tonight, they said if I cancelled I would still be charged the full amount $180 CAD & $14.99 cancellation fee. I asked to speak with a supervisor who told me that they would escalate my concern to their support team who would call the hotel and see if they would allow a refund as it was the hotels policy. They told me they would email me and assured me to keep checking my email for a resolution, which I did on my seven hour drive. No email. I get to the hotel and still nothing, I call back, I speak to the third agent of the day and explain my situation, he is immediately aggressive & rude! He said there was a note in my file to call back for 12pm the next day! I said that isn't what I was told and he was raising his voice at me and kept cutting me off telling me I booked with an American company and if I wanted to cancel, I explained I was in the parking lot and needed a place to stay and told this would be resolved today! I am now here for less than 8 hours and paying almost $200 when the rooms are advertised here for $135. I am absolutely livid!
They are scammers. They take your credit card info & the use other booking sites to book your stay & then it is WEB & LAYERS to get your card credited. I am going to HOUND them to the ends of the EARTH & I am getting my credit DIRECTLY from my credit card company. File a FRAUD investigation against them! They also try to keep the $14.99 fee if you cancel, even though they don't disclose it.
If you want to speak to a robot who won't listen to you use reservations.com, Impossible to get your reservation changed without being charged for one whole night
Literally said the entire hotel booking was $180 and it comes out to $310. Scammed! It's been 3 weeks since my reservation and still no refund. I have called 8 times and 4 of the times I have been lied to " the hotel does not let us cancel" I called the hotel and they said we can cancel no problem it's just reservations holding you money. I called back and the lady said she called my hotel and they specifically told her the hotel cannot cancel. I call her out on it and she moves me to a 7 day waiting list. One of the customer service helpers left me on hold for 15 minutes cause I was calling him out on all his lies. Customer service full MORONS THAT TRY TO HARD TO COVER UP FOR A SCAM OF A COMPANY.
LIARS! I recently made a reservation at a favorite hotel through reservations.com. I did not realize that I was talking to a middleman as the reservationist portrayed himself as being a hotel representative. I even questioned why he had no history of my previous stay and he gave me an evasive answer. After I (unfortunately) gave him my payment info, I felt a bit uneasy. I looked up the direct number for the hotel, called them and learned that they did not have my reservation so I made another with them. I immediately called reservations.com back, and was told that they would refund the charges. They have not refunded my payment and claim that I need a "waiver" from the hotel. STAY AWAY--THEY GOT ANOTHER VICTIM THE SAME WAY THE SAME WEEK
Do not trust this company. They are horrible. Hung up on me 3x after I complained about not getting my refund. Misleading and manipulative advertising. DO NOT USE!
I tried to book 2 rooms, one a studio, and the second was going to be a 2 bedroom suite.
reservations.com let me enter "2" for the number of rooms I would like to reserve in Palm Springs, CA.
A Normal website would let you choose one room, then a second room which may or not be the Exact same room as the first selection.
After I chose the first room it asked for the names of the guests, I entered who would be staying there and clicked the link at the bottom.
I was Shocked that it booked 2 studios and I called reservations.com immediately to let them know how their website did not let me pick a different room type. I was told they could not cancel it. I understand the policy but I should not be responsible for a charge because of a poor website design.
I really didn't want my money back. I just wanted to pay More and make one of the rooms a 2 bedroom suite.
I was told on the phone I need to book the two rooms separately, then why would you have a drop down to select the number of rooms with no disclaimer warning that they would ALL have to be the same.
I am obviously not cancelling because I don't want to stay there, I tried cancelling because their website does not follow best practice guidelines for website design.
I had have to rebook the rooms again - Using a different site.
They said they would open a case after I talked to a manager and after a week they said there was Nothing they could do. I got stuck paying an extra $600 for my stay
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at support@reservations.com so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
