Do not book with Reservations.com. Total scam! I called the phone number which was at the top of resort website to get help with booking after I could not find the room we wanted on the website. I thought I was calling the hotel. While booking the reservation the rep kept giving me different room prices, increasing each time for same rooms (red flag). I booked because I can cancel with no fees. Well the next day my credit card had 10 different charges that added up to around $5,000 from resvations.com ALONG with a charge from Expedia for almost the original amount ($2,991.88) that I authorized Reservations.com to change my card. Within these 10 different charges were 2 charge for around $1,600.00 from Getaroom.com. This is beyond frustrating. I canceled this reservation. Be careful when making reservations. Reservations.com did not tell me there were any other fees along with total charge I agreed to pay. How can they charge my card with almost $5,000.00 extra in fees? And they just outsource reservations to Expedia! I could have done that myself.
I first booked and called them and they told me that my rate is $215 + tax and fees $48.45=total $263.75, then when I received my billing statement I was charged $263.75 & $14.99 for their fee of using reservations.com. When I called them the agent first told me that their fees are included in the $48.45 and she did not know what the $14.99 was for so she transferred me to customer service. That customer service agent tells me that no that information was incorrect and the fees are not included in the $48.45. I also mentioned that when I booked this reservation they failed to tell me that there was a booking fee and resort fee that hotel would charge me. They refused to credit me the agent me and said they could not do anything about it. Overall I was charged over $300 for a one night stay for a standard value room. Do not used reservations.com they are scam artist and will not help you or refund your money. You are better off booking online directly with Travelocity or Agoda. You will not be charge additional booking fees. Do not book with reservations.com they are a terrible travel company who will not help you or refund your money back for their mistakes.
After searching many times, I have come to realize that if I want the best results, just use reservation.com. I always get the best deals and good service! I would recommend them to anyone!
I stayed in an apartment that was supposed to have a pool - the pool was not useable for the length of the stay and I could not get any help from Reservations.com or the owner of the apartment. The apartment is: NEW WONDERFUL APART WITH POOL, Calle 11 Apart 1-A, Santiago de los Caballeros *******
DO NOT RENT THIS apartment!
I booked a hotel for my friend's wedding and somehow was routed to reserve through this service (I wasn't aware until I went to cancel). This is a ZERO value-add service (just call/use the hotel's reservation system directly - it's just as easy) and they have an extremely punitive cancellation policy. I am a business traveler and I have never heard of a 72 hour non-refundable cancellation policy. I tested positive for COVID and had to cancel my reservation. When I saw the cancellation policy I assumed there would be an easy way to bypass the policy given we are in a global pandemic and this must happen all the time. They said the best they could do was to "submit a refund request" and I would hear back in 7-10 days. I have very low confidence that I will receive my refund (will update my post if I do) even though I showed them my positive test results. PLEASE go directly to the hotels to book your trip so you can be certain of the industry standard cancellation policy of 24 hours is in place. If you are online and see that "reservations.com" is powering your booking STOP what you are doing and find a new way to book. This was a $300 lesson for me and I don't want others to fall into the same fate.
They set it up to look like you are booking directly with hotel. Price was shown as $103. As soon as I put my info and credit card in it flashed $140 and non-refundable! Didn't even get a confirmation number and only found that out from an e-mail from a rental car company trying to get me to book a car with the hotel I just booked. I immediately called to cancel after realizing I was just scammed. They refused and said it's non-refundable! Nothing had shown non-refundable until I input my info and it was too late. They charged card immediately. I made them give me a breakdown of how it got to $140 when it was only supposed to be $103. She spoke quickly saying it was this tax and that tax and tried to hide fee of $14.95. I made her slowly repeat and figured they added a fee! Called hotel and the total room rate that they booked for me was only $92.54 which means they scammed $47.46 from me. Unfortunately since people are thinking they are directly with hotel--they don't know to look at the thousands of bad reviews and BBB complaints reservations.com is getting until it's too late. That is what they are banking on and that is how these miserable scum bags make a living--to scam people. Wonder if they would like their mother's to get scammed like this. Stay away from these scammers!
I am a Canadian booking a Canadian hotel and I got charged USD which bumped my cost up $200 immediately. Called to either cancel or be refunded the USD portion and apparently I have a non refundable room rate AND they are a US company so I get charged USD. The manager told me that when I entered the site I was suppose to click off Canada so i would be charged Canada rates... if the selection populated OBVIOUSLY I would have selected Canada but the site resorted to USD. Disputing with my Credit Card company. So unethical.
Don't expect to get a full refund I cancelled the day after I had made a reservation with them When I got my Credit Card Bill they charged me $57.55 when thy said the would give me a full refund.
Terrible to deal with said my beef was with the bank not with them. What a load of crap.
GIVE THEM A MISS FOR EVER
I was booking for a church group. Thought the site took me directly to the hotel. Needless to say - I booked the room and not even 10 minutes later I tried canceling the reservation and they would not refund any of the money. This is a scam and they have no business ethics. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING... My mistake, my lesson, and it cost me...
Do not get sucked into this site! They are a scam! They charge your credit card without showing all the charges. Ask for a refund and they will cancel your reservation and refund nothing at all!
OK, needed to go to a memorial service for a dear uncle. Was recommended to stay at a particular hotel. Entered that hotel name and up popped a site, looked like the hotel site. Thought I made a booking. A few weeks later, looking at details and considering the corona virus, couldn't find any record of the booking. No email, no text, nothing. So jumped on Expedia and made a booking. Word comes from cousins that due to corona virus, service is canceled. Jumped on Expedia and canceled reservation, no problem. Then Visa statement arrives. Was charged for room at rate about $30 over Expedia rate, and there is a $19.99 fee. Don't remember anything about a fee, or being charged on CC before arrival. Went on line and found a customer support for Reservations.com. I had no record of the booking, but they found it, and say: "Please be assured that, as per the
Unique cancellation agreement which was quoted to you at the time of
Booking including non-refundable agreements, any applicable relevant taxes
And fees you are eligible for per the agreement will be refunded to the
Card charged at the time of booking." The "quoted to you" is a hoot, must have been the fine print on page 26... Now wait 7 to 10 business days to see what I may get back. I feel this is very poor business practice, if not an out and out scam. May change view a bit if things work out, but this seems like the worst option to book a room.
Reservations.com are Scammers. Charged me 107.99 for a room the motel invoice at checkin showed to be 78.00. In addition they charged 20.00 "tax and recovery" fee and a 10.00 "service" fee.
Got charged a fee that I wasn't supposed to.
Whatever you guys do, don't call the number to any hotel that has reservations.com attached to it as they will rip you off
I made my reservation on line at what I THOUGHT was the Fairbridge Inn web site in Idaho Falls. When I got to the hotel, the rates were considerably lower than what I paid on line, and the hotel didn't even have my reservation. The person at the front desk apologized and was embarrassed. I feel I was scammed since I made this reservation on line at what I THOUGHT was the Fairbridge Inn web site. When I got to the hotel, the rates were considerably lower than what I paid on line, and the hotel hadn't even received my reservation. She apologized and was embarrassed. This is a scam since I did not see reservations.com anywhere on the Web site. I paid $97 for $56 room. What a ripoff. Much safer and cheaper to just call the hotel.
Do not even consider using this organization... you will be ripped off! They make unauthorized charges to your bill without notification. They should not be allowed to rip off the public like this.
I booked a night stay for my wife's birthday at the end of a business trip. I thought I used the main hotel site, however I was actually on Reservations.com, which looked just like the hotel site. My business trip was moved up one day, so when I went to reschedule my personal stay the hotel notified me that I used a 3rd party to book the room, they couldn't help. I contacted Reservations.com and was told I could make the change however I would be charged for my original booking and the new booking! Apparently I didn't read the FINE print regarding changes. And of course I can cancel the booking, file a claim and possibly get some kind of refund! RIGHT…zero refund. I would expect to pay the booking fee that the company charges but to pay for everything for something that was beyond my control is ludicrous. I'm sure the company has the ability to make better decisions than this.
NOTE to self! Verify the web site before booking any hotel! Reservations.com WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU on any changes, regardless of the circumstance! Always book through the hotel, the room rates were $70 cheaper per night than the rates advertised on Reservations.com.F**g scam!
On 2/1/2019 I booked 9 rooms and was given 2 confirmation numbers and only 2 names assigned to the booking. I called back and questioned that no other names are listed, I was told the hotel would assign the rooms and send confirmations. I had to call the Hotel and request the confirmations. I had 3 staff that had to cancel and found out I would have to cancel ALL 4 reservations under one of the confirmation numbers. I asked why I was not told this when I booked, I would have booked each one individually. OF COURSE THEY HAD NO RESPONSE BECAUSE THIS IS HOW THEY GET YOU.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. And by they way they had me on hold for over an hour to make a name change and then they didn't do it. And said they CAN'T.
I booked this hotel on my understanding that I was on the hotel website, when we finished with the reservation and click yes your site charged fees which I didn't see on the process and when I realized what happened I called to retract it but the person who answered me was very mean on my concern and she didn't try to do anything, that person has not a minimum disposition to service. Conclution: I WOLD NEVER DO ANY OTHER RESERVATION WITH reservations.com NEVER!
My sister booked a hotel for the past summer and her experience was awesome. I will book mine for Christmas and hope my experience will also be great. Can't wait
Just want to post a heads up about Reservations.com and advice on pursuing them for a refund.
This company tacks on extra fees that are not reflected in the price you agree to when you book a hotel stay ($50 for 2 night stay for me), then lies to you about the hotel refund policy (told me that hotel wouldn't cancel reservation, though direct call to the hotel verified that cancellation for full refund was fine) and then tacks on a nonrefundable $15 fee. One customer service rep at reservations.com actually admitted to me that the website got a full refund from the hotel already, but was still trying to avoid passing the refund to me.
They will not want to give you any refunds, but if you stay on the phone with them long enough and call them back when they hang up on you, eventually you can get all of your money back, including the $15.
It took me about 2 hours total phone time. I don't know whether it helped that I had already opened a dispute with my credit card. I also threatened to sue reservations.com, and pointed out the difficulty they would have defending the suit in my state (you sue them where you are, not where they are).
I would not admit anything over the phone -- they were obviously trying to trap me into agreeing to their fees on their recorded phone call.
I was on hold for at least 20 minutes a couple of times but wouldn't go away.
Eventually they agreed to refund everything, including the $15 extra charge.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at support@reservations.com so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
