They are horrible to deal with, so unprofessional, no responses to my many messages sent via the VRBO app. I've never experienced low level service like this when renting a home, especially an expensive one. Im a repeat customer and am appalled at how they run their business. The whole point is to provide an elevated experience for renters, they are doing the opposite, i'm frustrated
The listing was not what we got, their customer service reps hung up on us MULTIPLE times. They lied about everything and talked in circles. If this has happened to you, call your credit card company to issue and charge back immediately. Also, report them to the better business bureau. I could write a book on all the wrong they did. Report them!
There were no fewer than four lock boxes, incorrect codes, none of the keys fit the door. After waiting 2 and a half hours! NO ONE came to help despite many phones (nearly impossible long hold times). We had to leave without entering the beach and never received a refund. Impossible! Do not use them!
Left it up to my GF to rent for a two night stay at Shaver Lake,Ca. Arrived at 4pm, no heat, began calling customer service. 20 degrees. Probably 20 texts and phone calls, no results. Fast forward, following morning, 48 degrees in house, no heat. VaCasa hadn't paid the propane bill. They promised to comp the first night BFD. Now they won't acknowledge that promise. This Service is definitely the worst ever. Do not use!
When speaking wit the Vacasa representative, we were told the property owner decided to cancel our reservation. No further explanation. We received email notification of the cancellation with a note our credit card had been refunded, however no such refund has been processed. This is not a professional property management company. We'd give them 0 stars if allowable. BEWARE!

Vacasa is an absolute joke. I had a family member work there & she was treated horribly for the majority of her stay. Never once was she trained like the boss & website said she would be. Not even for the few times they made her work through her d**n lunch. Also said she never would get paid for working OT, yet they had her working OT almost every single day. It really took a toll on her mental health & that's infuriating bc the benefits are actually really good & so was the pay. But nothing, I mean NOTHING is worth your mental health. Vacasa has had SEVERAL lawsuits already filed against them for a variety of reasons but they clearly don't care about their employees or their customers concerns. I do not recommend anyone choosing vacasa to rent from. You'd be wasting most of your time.
Overall, very disappointing. Apparently, cleanliness is an unrealistic expectation. When we arrived, one of our beds was stained with urine, the company cleaned the bed and advised they would return. However, no one returned and the bed was unusable for two days due to water saturation. The shower curtain was molded, one missing hooks. The living room
Chairs and kitchen chair pads were stained and honestly, did not even want to utilize them. The balcony screen was tore. There was some sort of bug(s) that continued to come out from the stove. When I reached out to the company, I was advised They "would reach out to local staff about concerns". However, no mention of compensation or credit. I typically am not one to complain but I when booking a spot for vacation. At minimum you want to feel comfortable and not disgusted. Overall, much work is needed.

Several months without paying housekeeping several months management stealing and drinking on property allowing too many guests and under charging thousands of dollars of items stolen before our first couple months of guests by management. Great customer service horrible management! One lady said don't talk bad about my friend to me after my concern of my home being robbed and her drunk while greeting guests! 3-4-5 managers later we will see if they pay and reimburse and make this right!

I hate that I even have to give them 1 star. We checked in on Thurs at 3pm, immediately had an issue with a light falling off a ceiling fan and causing a loud spark! The gate to the outdoor stairs just fell out of the wall. But all of that is nothing to the sewage backing up in the downstairs bathroom Sat morning. Called them, they sent someone out who could not fix the problem. We dealt with this all day Sat, all day Sun until check out on Mon. While I was in contact with someone, they notified me I would be getting a refund…. After asking multiple people exactly what they were giving me back I found out it was $150 of my nearly $5000! Now I conveniently can't reach anyone.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Wife rented a 1 bedroom cottage on the beach in South beach, OR. $150 a night plus $100 cleaning fee. Cleaning fee for WHAT? Cabin ceiling, walls, cabinets and mantle COVERED in what we thought was mold, it turned out to be black soot from the dura flame logs they provide to guests. I could wipe the soot off fireplace with my hand. Wife is asthmatic and struggled our 2 days there. To many maint issues to list. Cabin could be a gem if it was cleaned and maintained. Hopefully pics show the story... not sure why pics are upside down, they are good on my end

Answer: It's a monster scam. Avoid at all costs. I've rented several properties that ended up going through Vacasa - despite my best efforts to avoid them. You can't find out that it's Vacasa until after they have your money. It's a criminal enterprise.
Answer: In my experience, construction is their "catch all" excuse for canceling. Follow up to verify that it was rented, but for higher fee.
Answer: I am not sure but for the renter (not the owners) the fees may be charged without full disclosure.
