Traveled 1500 miles to a (paid for) rental home only to find a swamp in the pool and the listing terminated by the company! Imagine trying to find another place after driving 20 hours in 95 degree temps. Was given the run around for 4.5 hours as I sat in my car that heated to a scorching 98! Quickly got on Airbnb and found a place in less than 20 minutes! How easy will my refund be refunded by Vacasa? Not holding my breathe! Scam or not, don't risk it and go through what I did! I will never book with anyone other than Airbnb in the future!
Girls getaway turns into roach motel!
Several roaches in condo no help getting them under control. Had to purchase our own roach spray to help control the bugs. Dishwasher was left with dry dishes, bugs were in dishwasher as well. Very disappointing situation and will never recommend this company for future stays.
Be careful when employing this company for short term rentals.
I used them for my house for over a year and ended up with few one star reviews from my guests complaining of total lack of response from Vacasa when they had a problem. After termination they kept my deposit allocated to cover unexpected expenses. They returned only portion of it after I demanded this return.They did not respond to my inquiry why only part was returned.They did not credit me with unused linen subscription.I was totally ignored! Just like my quest.
I was skeptical because I just happen to come across Vacasa. From beginning to end, me and my sisters and Mom had a great time. It was easy to use and they were very responsive to any questions that I had. I'm using them again in April for my next trip. These are individual homes, condos and apartments.
Our management company was bought out by Vacasa. We never had an issue renting our beautiful Florida home until Vacasa took over. They assured me the transition would be seamless, but they didn't follow up on anything. They did not ensure the garbage was taken out. Our pool was solid green and they never noticed. I would feel terrible if someone rented our home and walked into heaping garbage cans, green pool, and linens tossed in the closet. I would NOT recommend you trust your home with Vacasa. Even after I pointed things out and they apologized, nothing improved. I had to hire a local company to double check on everything to insure it's right so guests wouldn't arrive disappointed.
Our son went out into the surf to rescue someone Friday afternoon, and it took a while for Hatteras Island Rescue to get there. After being in the water close to 45 minutes with this other guy, our son was pretty shaken up that afternoon. I asked if we could get a late checkout Saturday morning since Friday afternoon was awful- even an hour later would have helped. I was told no outright.

I will not ever book again with Vacasa, there is a complete lack of responsiveness. We needed to change dates 5 on this in advance and the dates were available. It took me a week to get them to respond and it was still available. I answered the verification question they asked via email within minutes, and then again no response until they emailed and said sorry now the house is booked. Glad we found out how bad they are before we arrived at the house. We are well within the cancellation period, but I am sure that will take weeks to get a response on.
We recently stayed in a Vacasa rental house on a sea island in South Carolina. When the vacation was over Vacasa emailed to ask for feedback and reviews of our stay. They first ask, "What did you like about the rental?" On the next page they ask, "What can we improve at this rental?" They only publish the positive comments from the first question in the listing. We had plenty of complaints including a broken mattress held up by a bed pillow, old, dirty, torn and very uncomfortable furniture, and water leaking from the ceiling. If the price were reasonable we would have overlooked these things but for what we paid it should have been perfect. Be wary.
Vacasa's sales consultant gave us bad information about the cancellation fee. $531 was charged for a booking fee and they would not allow us to credit that to another property. DO NOT USE this service in anyway. They are awful to work with. I did not even want to give them one star...

Be warned. Unless you purchase the ridiculously high-priced trip insurance, you can make NO changes AT ALL to your reservation (even for medical reasons) without losing HALF of the total price of your trip. I will be leaving negative reviews on every site that I can find to warn people of this. They should not be allowed to "manage" vacation rentals. All they are doing is stealing from people using loopholes in their "vacation agreement."

Answer: It's a monster scam. Avoid at all costs. I've rented several properties that ended up going through Vacasa - despite my best efforts to avoid them. You can't find out that it's Vacasa until after they have your money. It's a criminal enterprise.
Answer: In my experience, construction is their "catch all" excuse for canceling. Follow up to verify that it was rented, but for higher fee.
