I tried my hands with this famous platform over the 11/11 and Black Friday events. There are so many products to choose from with good promotional prices. In terms of functionality, the "add to cart" for variants is pretty cumbersome compared with other platforms such as Amazon or Shopify. But the shipping part frustrates me the most. It can get unnecessarily complicated and changes the shipping rate for no apparent reason.
DO NOT waste your money buying through AliExpress. As there is no real protection. I bought an item from them, it was defective. The seller cannot speak or write English his comments were absolutely stupid. I contacted Ali Express and they told me Ill have to wait until the seller accepts my complaint. After waiting for a solution I have been told I have to send it back within 9 days at my own expense with a tracking number or my payment will be release to the buyer. I received this message on a Saturday, the post office will not be open until Monday although it can take over four weeks for a delivery from China.
The Item in question was a car camera recorder that was completely rubbish.
I suggest you do not buy through AliExpress unless you want to lose your money.

Saw a cellphone on ali express read the listing then ordered,two weeks later arrived but looked nothing like the listing.i opened a dispute saying listing pics plagerised from samsung websites and told to return for refund.its 10 days since tracking says arrived back at warehouse but seller refuses to respond to my messages. Many visits to the chat service and found agents totally ignorant to helping buyers causing nothing but stress making you feel they are helping these corrupt sellers.1st. Ordered a 14"tablet pc but after delays received a 10"version,complained and was told return and get a full refund,for some reason the return has been stuck in china customs for 34days and counting with seller not bothered to collect.seller wont respond regards my return post costs either.ali express just dont care with stupid chat agents winding you up on chat line,its as though sellers and ali express as corrupt as each other for ripping buyers off,,,
This review replaces previous one,, im not wanting to sound racist but here we have chinese sellers ripping off customers with faulty goods then we have chinese selling site investigating a dispute. Both have gone silent now its two weeks past deadline time. Is anybody else finding it impossible to log onto chat service(24/7)are they having a laugh,,, crap crap crap.
Here is one example: I bought 10 glass domes. They were advertised as being $4.28 per (10) 15 mm domes but when they take you to the sales page that price increases to $5.84! With. 44 cents tax and free shipping or a total of $6.28. Ok, I can take on a $1.58 loss but then when you go to check out the total amount changes to $7.08! Now I have been charged $2.36 more than I should have been!
I have made three purchases and this happened every time! Sometimes the "surprise" charges are even greater!
If I could find another source I would absolutely leave this site in the rear view mirror!
Do not buy! I ordered a coat for my daughter who is tall, measured to make sure it would fit according to their measurements and the sleeves were very short when received. They must have midgets there! It will cost too much to send back and complained to the seller but so far no response. Another order has 3 more days left for me to receive it but cannot be tracked. Most items listed on this site are not as described when you receive them. I purchased hair once and I never received it but it said "delivered" and Aliexpress took the sellers side.
I bought something from a different seller and returned it and it was delivered. But they're giving me the hardest time to get my money back. They don't have any customer service. Avoid at all costs.
The laptop power cord wa defective, the clothes were ill fitting and sub par quality, the shoes for my son were absolutely horrendous- thick cheap leather and plastic soles. The boots I bought had bright cheap gold parts that just fell off immediately.
I bought, what was advertised as a Bobby Brown mascara and eyeliner. They run shortly after application and do not coat of help my lashes in any way. I would avoid this site completely, it's a scam.
Since these places like aliexpress offer great prices, it's tempting to buy products through them. Unfortunately they often are garbage products, or the seller won't stand by their product or warranty. But in fairness, I've had exactly the same situation with Amazon and their third party sellers, where Amazon just blames seller and walks away. It's a crap shoot these days online. I suggest always review a business good or bad, anywhere and everywhere, as often as you can for as long as you can. Tell people not to buy there, remember that negative reviews are all you have, so do tons of them on every product sold by a place that you can. They will lose more money from this than the amount they stole from you...
It seems to be a well-designed for on-line shopping. My experience (more than 5 years) is positive. Quite a few times there were questions regarding quality or delivery (less than 10% of orders), but customer's protection service always helps to solve it. No problem. There are quite a few sellers on Aliexpress and some will take your money without delivering any goods. Yes, it states you can file a dispute, but you will get nowhere. There is no real person to contact, disputes are handled through emails and chats. I lost over $100 and after months of disputes, I just gave up. The seller that screwed me changed their store name and it was a loss cause after that.
My advice is this:
Go to the sellers reviews to see if anyone has been taken; if so, then move on. Also know that some sellers will have another party write positive reviews for them. There are some honest sellers on Aliexpress, the problem is knowing who they are. It's a true gamble with Aliexpress, so good luck.
The goods I did receive as far as I was concerned were junk. I will never buy from Aliexpress again; I hate being stole from and I won't sell cheap crap.
I'm using Aliexpress for ~3 years actually, and still don't have any problem with shopping. I used to buy all that cheap chinese products on eBay before, but now almost all kind of products can be find here (at Aliexpress) much cheaper. Looks like Aliexpress really control it's sellers, because any issues with my orders (such as missed packages) were resolved as quickly as possible in most of cases. Our local post work not really good, so buyer protection is very important for me. And after made ~50 orders I can say that Aliexpress is great place to buy not very expensive products. I buy a lot off of Aliexpress and the only thing is something's take a long time to get to Canada. So if e-packet isn't too much I now go that route which is worth it. I ordered something away back in early part of yr and nothing ever arrived so what our household did was to put on Mailbox to put all parcels downstairs on my bench where I live and nothing has been stolen since. We are having a huge problem in Canada with thieves. Just be careful!... When our Canadian dollar is low I don't purchase. Only once in my several yrs have I had to make a complaint and the problem was straightened out. So happy shopping and always check reviews of the company you wish to purchase from. :)
I have purchased 22 items on this website so far and very impressed with it and can't understand why it has such low star review.
1) when ordering you have an opportunity to change your mind.
2) You can communicate with the supplier direct(unlike Gearbest)
3) If the supplier doesn't ship within a time frame counted down you get a refund.(This has happened once to me)
4) sometimes the shipping to NZ is slow but then I expect this as I opt for the free shipping.
5) Buyer can see at a glance the state of orders.

So I have tried many suppliers on Aliexpress and have had the worst experience. Firstly, most of the products on there are junk. I literally threw out several products when they arrived because it was such low quality.
Another big issue is that many suppliers tell you they ship from a USA warehouse but in fact when you order they ship from China like usual with a month or more wait for delivery. When you inquire about this they lie or give you fake tracking numbers. 7 our of 10 do this I'd estimate.
I lost a lot of money, time, and hurt my selling reputation trying to deal with these sellers.
I have bought at least 50 items on AE from 1£ to 20£ per item. Quality varies considerably: from USB sticks of 2 TB that do not work at all, to sun glasses that last a week, to decent earphones that work normally. Overall (60-70%) of the stuff is not worthwhile pursuing, either fake or rip-off, you will end up buying an alternate from a reputable source. Furthermore, they make it so, you cannot contest the transaction at all - initially because not enough time has gone by to receive the order - and then because too much time has gone by. Furthermore, because of low-value (<5£) it does not even make sense to engage. But overall, i would advice to go elsewhere (seller from your own country) and avoid the head ache. About 30-40% of their deliveries do not make it anyways.

Seller attempted to extort more money after sale was completed and paid. They sent package postage due, which caused a result only on AliExpress website of "customs is holding the package". Curiously, when I inquired at the post office, they have no record of the package at all. Ali says I have to get "official document", but there's nothing to get and they are refusing to honor their buyer protection. It's just an endless loop of dispute, deny, appeal, deny, repeat. I think the "tracking number" is fake since post office has no records. Please don't waste your time with AliExpress, you'll get burned.
I've order many times, everything from clothes to thermometers for reptile tanks. I have always gotten my orders, all though it does take some time to arrive and ships in multiple packages.
Clothes, make sure to order big. They run real small.

AliExpress is really a top tier site. It gets a bad reputation for cheap chinese stuff, but really if you know what your buying and do the research, most of what you'll get is great quality.
And if it isn't? They have awesome buyer protection. In almost all cases you will be offered a refund even without sending the item back if it's truly not as described. Or at least a partial one if something you'd keep anyways.
I ordered a total of these items which my son took one right away before I could snap a picture, that is why you only see 3... but these items are as described and looks just like on the seller's page. Fast delivery and all parcels are in good condition. No complaints, seller recommended!
