My son booked a Return journey to Thailand from Korea. When he arrived at Seoul airport he as told he could not board as one of the flights was via the only airports in China that needs clearance from the airline. The airline in China did not answer the phone so he could not board the flight. This information was not on either the official uk visa advice for China or the official Chinese government visa advice to uk citizens.
Kiwi refused to refund any of the flights despite selling us a useless travel insurance.
The core of this matter is either kiwi knew about this situation with clearance needed for this one airport and did not tell us which is very professional and a dubious business. Or they were not aware themselves which again is unbelievably unprofessional given they should know about the product they are selling. A better, more professional company would know this incredibly important information when selling a ticket that involves transfer there.
They have consistently refused to take any responsibility and I believe that they should not have sold my don that ticket. Please think very carefully before using this company. I would not recommend them.

A friend of mine recommended that I use Kiwi for my upcoming flight from Arizona to Norway, and I was blown away by the ultra cheap tickets they offered. As I should have known, what seems too good to be true, often is.

A day before my flight left, I realized with a start that they had not included the carry-on I have always had on every other flight I have ever booked. Since my carry-on would hold my clothes, I tried to contact Kiwi to resolve the matter. They simply told me that I should have known that from the start and refused to help.

Since then, I've had to pay all kinds of fees to add a carry-on to each of my connect flights. However, the individual airlines have been extremely helpful in that regard, and they've managed to turn around Kiwi's bungled job. Also, I had to prove that the flight was, indeed, for me, since all of the contact information the airlines had was my name and Kiwi's email.

TL; DR I wouldn't recommend that *anyone* uses Kiwi. As cheap as the tickets come, you're almost guaranteed to have your flight canceled or come across unforeseen charges that Kiwi won't help you with. Use Kiwi's suggested flight plan as a jumping-off point, then book with the individual airlines themselves!

Tip for consumers:
As mentioned above, only use Kiwi to *find* cheap flights--only book directly with the individual airlines or a reliable travel agency!

The majority of these reviews are awful and for good reason. I didn't realize there were extra "priority boarding" charges on my receipt until later. I thought "weird, I never signed up for this." I tried to contact them via Twitter and Facebook to get them taken off and refunded. They got back to me within a couple of hours. I was directed to go to the refunds and cancellations page of their site and REQUEST a refund. Why? I NEVER SIGNED UP FOR PRIORITY. Regardless, it proved futile to try and fight the charges since the responses were automated and generic seeing as how I got the same response on both Twitter and Facebook. And of course I got an email saying my request for the extras I never bought was denied. Word for word it said "Please be informed that a priority boarding is an additional service which allows the passenger to board the plane without being a part of queue. Also, we would like to inform you that the additional services are fully non-refundable."

Additional services which were basically mandatory and unable to be opted out of.

The layovers and airports for my original flight were also awful. Needless to say, I'll be skipping those flights completely and doing what I should've done in the first place and just book directly with airlines.

This booking site is scam. Do not give them your business.

Purchased a ticket from Tel Aviv to Toronto with layover in London using Kiwi. Because of COVID all flight from London were cancelled and I knew it 3 days before my departure, but somehow KIWI was assuring me that flight is still on. I decided to not trust them and booked another flight with Lufthanza which I successfully took and landed in Toronto on schedule. Still waiting for refund for the second part of my trip from London to Toronto. Imagine trusting this people with your important flights, if I have done so I would be stuck in London for god know how long. Never book any flights using KIWI.COM.

I created an airline booking through Kiwi.com on 11/27/2023, but the booking dates were incorrect.

Within two minutes of creating the booking, I called Kiwi.com's Customer Service line at 1 *******159. I spoke with an agent on a recorded line who told me that I could cancel the booking through the Manage My Booking link on the Kiwi.com website as long as the booking was still processing.

Already on the website, I kept clicking the cancellation link because the status of my booking was still processing. However, every time I clicked the link to cancel, an error page loaded, which prevented me from canceling.

I had the agent on the phone while I was trying to cancel my booking, and asked for her help. She said she could do nothing on her end, but reiterated that I should be able to cancel the reservation provided it was still processing.

This was false. The website prevented me from canceling, and Kiwi charged me a bizarrely high price for a non-refundable ticket. However, the Kiwi.com agent said on the recorded line that I was allowed to cancel provided that the booking was still processing, which it was.

Kiwi.com is a rip off and a scam, and they nickel and dime every aspect of travel. Go with Kayak, Priceline, Expedia, or Amex Travel, or the airlines directly. Kiwi.com charges for a carry on! Next it will be in flight toilet paper.

Tip for consumers:
Just to emphasize, Kiwi.com overcharges. Its base fare appears low, but they charge well over an additional $120 for a carryon, $26 for seat selection of any kind, and an additoal $100 for flight protection. This far exceeds what other travel websites charge. Its just a price-gouging operation that takes advantage of consumers.

Products used:
Travel Website: As mentioned in my review, the agent said I could modify or cancel my booking as long as the booking process was still in progress. She lied and now the company is falsifying our conversation, on a recorded line. W

I BOOKED A FLIGHT WITH MY GIRLFRIEND, PAID £ 600, AND UNFORTUNENATELY WE BROKE UP, SO I WENT TO CANCEL THE FLIGHT AND ASK FOR A REFUND, THEY SAID ITS NOT MEDICAL ISSUES, SO THEY ONLY REFUND ME £70 AND STILL CHARGE 20 HANDLING FEES. REALLY BAD SERVICE

So I booked a trip and needed to cancel as my plans had changed. It is over two weeks until my scheduled flight. I had to contact customer service twice: the first time I was told to do everything on the web site and it would be fine: it was not, I wanted to know what method I would be able to maximize my refund whether it be through the site, crediting my card, or bank account back. It did none of those things. So I called back and spoke to another agent. I was hurried off of the phone again. I have been contacted by their customer service department concerning cancellations specifically. I have a better understanding of their position and they have a better understanding of the position one is put in when canceling an expensive trip without knowing what the options truly are. At this point I would say that if you are sure that your trip will not need to be cancelled you have nothing to fear, but of there may need to be a cancellation, take in to consideration that you will not get your money back depending on the chosen airlines and the time line in which a cancellation is made.

They don't have a customer service line in Canada so I have to pay $40 for international calls and I have to keep calling them for them to take care of the problem otherwise they don't do anything about it and just keep saying that they will "help" you. IT IS THE WORST I HAVE EXPERIENCED. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!

Booked a connecting flight, one plane got cancelled so I was left with no options but a credit of 10euro for a 130gbp flight, then used the credit to booked another one at 40gbp, again a flight got cancelled and all they offered me was paying more money and in some of the case a lot more. So I found another flight for 14gbp which was direct. For me to still have to pay extra for the cheaper flight.

How does that work. Then to add insult as I choose to change my flight (but I didn't choose to cancel it) Kiwi wont get me a refund for a cancelled flight. Oh and if you want Kiwi to chase the airlines for a refund they charge 20euro! When it wasn't even my fault, so it should be granted without any issues. Am I wrong in saying that?

Will not be using Kiwi again thats for sure, as even there responses are scripted without personal touch. Like it's just automated based on your

Don't have the patience to go through the nightmare I had dealing with Kiwi right now. Just wanted to get the word out to fellow travelers that these guys are the real deal when it comes to others accounts detailing their collective miserable experiences doing business with this company. Any third party middle man that books individual connecting flights with several low cost carriers for a single outbound journey should be enough to raise the red flags. Throw in the agonizing hours upon hours that will be wasted dredging through automated call centers and unresponsive emails to attempt to correct their errors and you have a time bomb. And, there will be errors, probable missed connecting flights, additional costs due to the canceled and re-routed flights on top of not being able to book your seats (unless paying an additional fee - for every connection). Then you can throw in international long hauls with no entertainment and broken seats on very old planes that not only do not offer meals but you'll probably have to argue for a half glass of water. You will be stuck for any costs related to cancellations and delays on their end. It's a stressful money pit of an affair that will test the most thick skinned of travelers.

Better to spend the extra money booking directly with an airline or at least use an aggregator which has the sense to book connecting outbound journeys as a single ticket/reservation with the airline.

Kiwi.com has been one of the most disappointing flight booking experiences I've ever encountered. Firstly, their customer service is virtually nonexistent. When I needed assistance due to a layover that caused me to miss my connecting flight, I couldn't reach anyone for help. It was incredibly frustrating to be stuck on an island without any support or guidance from Kiwi.com.

What's worse, despite my numerous attempts to contact them through texts and emails, I received no response whatsoever. It felt like I was stranded in the middle of nowhere with no lifeline. The lack of communication and assistance during this stressful situation was utterly unacceptable.

To make matters worse, I am still struggling to get a refund for the disrupted flight, despite the obvious fault lying with Kiwi.com's poorly managed booking system. If they continue to stonewall my refund request, I am prepared to take legal action to ensure that I am not left out of pocket for their mistakes.

In summary, my experience with Kiwi.com has been a nightmare. The absence of effective customer service, the mishandling of my flight itinerary, and the ongoing battle for a refund have left me deeply unsatisfied. I would strongly caution anyone considering booking through Kiwi.com to think twice and explore alternative options to avoid a similar ordeal.

My sister and her fiancé planed a trip to Spain from Canada for them to relax before their baby arrives. Then Covid-19 happened. Not only does a pregnant lot woman not want to be subjected to the virus but Canada also put out a strong Advisory to cancel all trips outside of the country, they decided to reschedule. Their Air BnB gave them full refunds and Kiwi offered 12 euros. Return flights for 2 people was $1800. I am absolutely disgusted with the "professionalism" of Kiwi especially during a global pandemic. With that said I would NEVER USE KIWI AND ADVISE OTHER TO AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I received email around 6 am from kiwi.com regarding my tickets from Baltimore(USA) to Kiev and realised that i have to pay a check in fees for 3 airlines at the airports because I've just missed 2 hrs window to do it on line. This is absolutely scam and I guess they. Have an an illegal agreement with the low cost airlines in order to get more money from you. A horrible company. Stay away.

I bought some tickets internationally, one way tickets had to pay for baggage even the carry-on, which was awfully $355, then going back was even worse, i had two reservations (according to airline), pay for my 3 luggage plus carry on for first flight, make immigration process to get my luggage PAY again same amount to continue my trip in order to get back to my country, this was more expensive than even first class ticket straight with airline with all baggage included. NEVER USING THIS METHOD AGAIN.

I had to book a one way flight for my son from SFO to Barcelona and ended up doing it with Kiwi. Usually I book direct, but it was a big price difference so I went ahead. When we arrived at the airline counter (Lufthansa) we found out that the final destination of the airline ticket wasn't Barcelona, but Bruessels. We called Kiwi and they said yes, just ditch your connecting flight to Barcelona in Frankfurt and instead connect to another, separately, booked flight to Barcelona. 2 major problems: Belgium still required a negative Covid test for vaccinated people entering the country, but Spain did not. Difficult to prepare for this situation if your destination country is different than what you booked. Luckily my son had taken a Covid test beforehand, "just in case", otherwise he would not have been able to board the plane and lost all money. Second, my son had to fill out a Covid entry form for Belgium (no boarding without it), although he never ended up going there.
Do not use this vendor - absolutely reckless in pandemic times, not reliable. Will never use again.

Tip for consumers:
Don't use it, and if you have to, expect to not get reimbursed for anything if you don't make your flight. Read all the small print.
