Site does not work for consumers. Sellers use "generic" photos that do not match the actual product. Actual product color, size, material is usually off. I think they consider this an acceptable business practice and not fraudulent, and maybe that is true for wholesale buyers/sellers. Consumers expect to get exactly what is advertised. Refund process does not work, site makes you give a long explanation and upload photographic evidence and then ignores you, no refund ever.

Shipping seems better with anything China Post
November 16, 2017
Updated review

Updates Nov/17. Been awhile not buying anything and i think the shipping is somewhat better than before. To my surprise, the fastest shipping method turned out to be anything by China Post. Even AliExpress own shipping method is way slower from being handed over to one Logistics company after the other after the other.

So new tips for worry-free shipping. - Nevermind AliExpress Standard or Premium. Theyre slow, because parcel is being handled by logistics after logistics. Pick anything China Post, which is free mostly. Even their seem to be cheaper - small packet ordinary - is pretty fast, and traceable although sellers would say the otherwise

Could be good, but need to educate their sellers

I like AliExpress. You can find crazy unthinkable useful stuff there apart from mobile phone parts. There is one persistent problem though - shipping. You have to be very patient. I am based in Thailand and shipping to Bangkok from let's say Shenzen could take 2 weeks. So if you are in remote somewhere in Europe, then expect probably a month to get anything.

Not all sellers are slow or non-responding (most likely language barrier), there are good & responsible sellers too. But still even if they are fast, the shipping is really unpredictable. They have this so-called 'AliExpress Premium' shipping which is delivered by DHL at the end. But god knows why before it reached DHL, your orders would go through numbers of handling companies - Yanwen is one of them - I dont get how they get Yanwen to handle their 'premium' service because what i know from the whole www, Yanwen is the worst. So at the end no difference in delivery times between premium and standard. So tip - just choose aliexpress standard shipping with tracking.

You also need to have extra patience when chat with the customer service. Apart from the annoying copy-pasting-without-even-read-your-question habit, they also can be shamelessly deny everything when you got everything right. They would say oh everything is normal, please rest assured we do our best etc etc etc. A bit like a north korean explaining how great things are in Pyongyang & everyone's happy. An example was when I have problems with Ali Express Premium Shipping, - this cs girl Barbara or Jenna or Christine or whatever the name was - shamelessly saying that I have picked the wrong one. She's happily saying that to get things faster, I should have chosen the Ali Express Standard (free) and not Ali Express Premium (Paid).
When they start to do that just hung up because the more you ask questions the more annoyed you will be. You can scream, jumping up and down they won't give a s... t.
So tip - never pick ali express premium. If you want faster go with DHL or EMS. Or even standard China Post registered. This way you can be sure that no companies like Yanwen will be handling your stuff.

Tips to deal with slow-non-responsive sellers - don't confirm your order immediately after you receive. Give them lesson. The time they delay the shipment is the time they should wait for the money to be released. If they ask just say 'Don't worry, you will get it soon'.

Always take photo of the received item when unpacking and unboxing.

Only for non-important fun stuff. Maybe not suitable if you are doing business as the shipping time is really unpredictable. Even if you choose DHL. I see they are trying to organize the shipment system which seems to be a mess but not quite there yet.

This seller is a liar. I ordered pocket watches and then went on holidays. When I returned they had not arrived and it was too late to open a dispute. The seller li liu from Shop******* Store had never posted the order. I tried to get them to send the order or refund but they have not done either. These were ordered in July and still trying to get my $200 back. Customer service was a joke, they have not helped me at all.

Buyer beware!
March 27, 2023

I ordered a hard drive which did not work at all. The seller would only refund if I sent a video. What good is a video of a non-working HD? Its just a way to avoid having to provide a refund. AliExpress offered me $1.00 for my troubles. They were $34.00 shy of the refund mark. This company sucks and the products they sell aren't much better.

I allowed my sons to order a fidget toy from a seller who sold it to us and then contacted us after the sale had gone through to ask for more money via a 'link', I refused to pay more money so the seller refused to ship but had already marked the item as shipped, this resulted in me having to wait to open a dispute before I could ask for my money back. The dispute was eventually opened 10 days later only for the seller to pay half the amount and close the dispute. Ali Express have not only got a 'Bot' system as customer service, therefor there is no way to report scam sellers and receive your full money back. BEWARE.

No Problems here.
August 31, 2017

I'm surprised at all the bad reviews of Ali. Ali has been great for me. I think the purchase protection system is way better than Ebay. They don't release the money to the seller until 15 days after you acknowledge receipt of the item. Once I had a damaged item shipped to me. I sent pictures to Ali asking for a partial refund and I was refunded immediately. I like that I can use my credit card on Ali because I've been screwed by Paypal with fraudulent sellers on Ebay a couple times. Anyone who thinks Paypal is safe is Naive. If Paypal can screw you they will. True some of the stuff on Ali is Chinese junk but it's no different from the Chinese junk on Ebay and other websites and I often (not always) find the best price on Ali. I've ordered many many items from Ali and have never had a problem that wasn't fixed. That's not something I can say about Ebay.

I bought three pairs of shoes from IncreasingShoes. They arrived quickly and the quality to my eye seemed very good and even excellent. But looks can be deceiving. Within 6 months of purchasing those pairs, the inner molds of one of the pairs had completely disintegrated, rendering the shoes useless, even though the exterior still looked perfect. I wrote to the company asking if they would send me new inner molds to replace the defective ones. They declined to offer me new inner molds and they even declined to offer me separate inner molds at any price, let alone a discount. The company only offered me a small discount on purchasing a brand new pair of shoes all over again, like I need to risk buying another defective product. This is definitely a buyer-beware situation. There are other companies out there with products as least as good and with real customer service. I'd avoid IncreasingShoes.

Don't purchase from this site. I am in the middle of a dispute, the SITE. Is taking the sellers side. I received faulty goods, sent it back in May, I have just been told as they took so long to investigate ( due to a high demand of people unhappy with the products) that there is now no way to track my package, therefore NO REFUND will be given. Feels like a scam to me.
